  • "Another couple at the bed and breakfast that we were staying were slated to go to Eli's Table, and so we thought we might try that later on in the evening. What a great choice! It was easy to find of course, and because of OpenTable, we were able to get a reservation with no problem. The staff was welcoming and courteous and talkative but not too talkative. The food was exquisite – – one of those places that you put a bite in your mouth and roll your eyes! All in all it was a wonderful evening and we wish we were closer to restaurants like this all the time."

  • "This was a big disappointment. While the service was kind, it came off as inexperienced. The "courtyard " dining ambiance was absent, so we opted for inside. We were seated next to a wall with paint and plaster chips that could have been easily covered by the painting mis-hung above. This lack of attention to detail was reflected in the service and cuisine. The menu was simple and unimaginative. We hoped that this would translate into simple done well....no. The dish was overpowered with a sauce, a slab of cheese and dry contents. This restaurant has a great location and curbside appeal. If their focus is the tourist trade, so be it, once and done. We would not recommend with so many other fine dining options in Charleston."

  • "We reserved a table for 9:30 p.m. and arrived a few minutes early. During our meal, we were not served any bread, so we asked the manager upon leaving if that was their normal service. He replied it was not; they had run-out of bread and that all the bread they had was frozen. He said to come back and he "would take good care of us." To be clear, our dismay was that we didn't get any bread; it was that it was not mentioned initially and an apology offered. ps - In addition, the menu listed crème brûlée which I told our server I really like but didn't think I could handle after the meal. He replied that it was actually a good thing that I didn't want to order it because they were out of that."

  • "I ate dinner here and loved every bite. We started with the fondue (the only problem was not having enough items to dip in the cheese) and the harvest salad. We then had shrimp and grits, pork chop, and braised lamb. All entrees and sides were the perfect temperature, cook, balance of flavors, etc. We finished with flourless chocolate cake, which is a must for any chocolate lover, and cheesecake, also wonderful. The service was good, but what set it apart was the the attentiveness of the manager. During dinner, he came to our table to check on us. As we were leaving, it began raining so he offered to arrange for a complementary ride for us. Wow! We didn't need it but it was a great touch. I will definitely be back to Eli's Table!"

  • "Amazing food, tremendous service (Camille is amazing) and we compare it to all the great downtown places to eat. However, do not sit at tables 1 or 2. We were at table 2 and it was directly across from the Chef area with tremendous heat from the cooking and constantly traffic from the service staff and loud. This was our first experience there an I gave honest feedback about our table locations and I was informed to request not to have those tables in the future. You will love the food, just sit upfront or to the left when you walk in. The outside dining looked really nice as well!"

From the moment we opened the door, there was nothing but friendly people wanting to make our evening special. That included the owners and staff. I chose the salmon which was also good but not nearly as tasty as the duck. Great for folks staying around the area or exploring downtown."

  • "We live here in Charleston and decided to try a "new to us" place for dinner. The shrimp and sweet potato pancakes were deliciously sweet and savory. The Mahi and Pecan Crusted Salmon were perfectly cooked and the perfect size to squeeze in some dessert. Flourless Chocolate cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream .. rich and satisfying! Thank you Robby for enhancing our experience. You attentiveness and personal touch capped off a great meal. This was a first for us but definitely wont be the last .. its our new "go to" spot!"

  • "Exceptional quality, preparation and presentation. Staff was justifiably exctited about the offerings. The chef's cooking techniques and masterful use of Asian touches combined with top quality produce, seafood and meats is astounding. We ordered the duck special that evening and the duck was perfectly seasoned, succulent, not greasy, with crispy skin. Sides were fresh and cooked to order. Shrimp and sweet potato pancake appetizer was subline. This is my first rave review ever. It is well deserved. Every aspect of our experience was great. Go!"

  • "The salad and entrees were both very good. I had the salmon and my husband had the pork chop. We split a side of gouda mac and cheese, my husband's idea. And I have say, that it was excellent. Definitely worth trying! However skip the flourless chocolate cake..unless you tell them to hold the salt. We did not expect to get a crunchy mouthful of salt chunks in every bite(albeit Pink Himalayan salt we learned later from the waitress!). She apologized and promptly took it off our bill. All in all, even with the dessert disappointment, the food and dining experience was very good. We would definitley go back."

  • "Made reservations way ahead of time for Eli's, we were seated right next to the kitchen. Me and my girlfriend could not hold a conversation without someone being able to hear us. We could literally see and hear everything going on in the back. The food was okay, definitely not worth the price for the portions that we received. Everybody was very nice, but overall I will not be going back. Disappointing for the prices and the lack of a good table."

  • "After checking on Open Table for reservations and found none for the more we'll-known restaurants, I discovered that Eli's Table could accommodate us. Since reviews were favorable we decided to try it. The food was great from the first bite of bread until we finished coffee. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly and I would put it in my top five. All four of us had delicious meals and they even have hand cut steak fries! We will definitely return."

  • "My wife and I had play tickets at the Footlight theatre, and I found Eli's Table for dinner through Open Table, because it was conveniently close to the theatre. This was our first time, and as we drove home, my wife and I remarked what an enjoyable evening we had, and Eli's is definitely on our list to return again for dinner. The entire staff should be commended....pleasant, accomodating, and excellent service. The food was marvelous, and we had plenty of time to walk to the theatre. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends, and will indeed return soon."

The seasonal menu changes and specials keep you waiting to come back in anticipation. The menu always gives you options of the southern dishes with the chef's unique touch, as well as other menu items that will give your mind something to consider as you graze over the menu and drink list to plot your course.   • "Food was not satisfactorily prepared. Service was just okay. First two wine selections were out of stock and a more expensive substitute was offered at a comparable price. That's nice, but when check arrived, regular price was charged. There is a better restaurant just around the corner."

  • "3rd time since we found this little gem we have eaten here. Twice for dinner / once for lunch. Was a good deal busier at lunch so service was a little slower, but food is always good! Servers so nice! Love the shrimp & grits only it was a little too much gravy covering the gouda grits which I love! Sorry they discontinued the short ribs & yummy bacon glazed Brussels Sprouts! Best dessert is Mixed Berry Cobbler. It rivals Hominy Grill's Chocolate Pudding! I don't want to brag on this place too much because we have had no trouble getting in there, but everyone should try it. Small but delicious menu! They even modified the menu to give my daughter 2 things she really wanted but that were not together. Most places are not that flexible."

  • "We were looking for a new place (for us) in Charleston. Had heard about Eli's Table but didn't know much about it. Reviews on OpenTable looked good. The experience was great from the time we walked in the door. Ambiance was pleasing and a little more upscale than expected. The menu had nice starters and entrees that made it hard to choose. Starter salads were good and ample sized. We wanted seafood so my wife had a tile fish special and I had a whole deep fried red snapper that was incredible looking on the plate and perfectly done. Service was attentive, efficient and the manager stopped by as well. Only downside was they didn't have Sambuca to go with my espresso but said they were getting it in the next day. Guess we will have to go back"

We enjoyed our dinner very much: shrimp and grits and a steak, preceded by a green with pecans, fruit, and champagne vinaigrette and the baked caprese. Everything was nicely done, and fruit cobbler and coffee finished off the meal, with the tartness of the fruit in the dessert the only lessthan perfect moment."

  • "The restaurant was very pretty and comfortable. The bread they serve was okay, nothing special, and the dipping olive oil could be improved upon. The Bibb wedge salads were lacking a little. I ordered the beef tenderloin, which was not as tasty as some I've had and not as good as the ribeye my husband ordered, which was very good. One person at our table ordered fried green tomatoes for a starter, and they were great. The crispy brie knish that was served with the filet was not very tasty. I may return because the service was very good, and the atmosphere was great. Hopefully, they'll bring up their standards on the tastiness of some of their dishes."

  • "Our first Valentine's Day dinner went very well at Eli's Table. The service was great, and Jasmine brought us complimentary glasses of champagne when she also heard it was our first trip together. A nice touch. The pancakes & shrimp appetizer was quite good & unusual -- a different take on shrimp and grits. The entrees were excellent -- surf and turf for one of us & golden tilefish (whitefish) for the other -- all was great. Dessert was sinfully rich chocolate flourless cake. The atmosphere was pleasant and we felt well taken care of. Would certainly return."

  • "Although the dining room was fairly empty for a Tues eve, our party of 2 was given a small table right next to the kitchen. After being greeted by our server, and given a basket of bread (slightly burnt), we decided we'd rather sit on the other side of the restaurant (where it seemed a little brighter, and quieter so we could enjoy a private conversation), and after we politely asked to be moved, they quickly did so without complaint. The second basket of bread arrived in perfect condition, and our shared appetizer and entrees were amazing, and very much enjoyed - as was the excellent service provided by our server. We'll definitely make arrangements to come back, and will happily recommend it to our friends for a relaxing evening out."
