A word from Cedar Hollow Inn Restaurant & Bar
The Cedar Hollow Inn has been a local favorite for over 12 years. The building, which was built in the mid 1800's, lends an old-fashioned charm to an unpretentious atmosphere.

Chef Stephen Guiseppe of the Culinary Institute of America adds personal flair and imagination to a delectable menu of American Continental dishes. The daily Chef's Specials are creative and unpredictable, energetically inspired an hour or so before the menu is finalized.

Indulge yourself, family and friends to a casual fine dining experience in any of the three dining rooms, including an enclosed sun porch and a large bar area. Tucked away in the middle of everywhere, the Cedar Hollow offers an experience that keeps you coming back.

Diner Reviews
  • "Today at 10:43 AM We requested (via open table) to sit on the popular porch and it was granted. Our server was attentive and professional( but too young to help with wine selections). So far so good, right? And then they brought the food - Superior! The prime rib melted in my grandfathers mouth. My husband said it was the best snapper he ever had, specifically because of the way it was cooked. And there are no words to describe the delicious shellfish (crab and avacodo) dish I orderered for my self. If you have been meaning to try Cedar Hollow and haven't yet, I highly recommend you put it on your "to do" list. And the oysters??? Best in the area! We will be back!"

  • "First time at Cedar Hollow Inn and it was such a pleasant surprise. The Prime Rib was the best I have ever had, and that includes Morton's and Capital Grill. We will definitely return."

  • "Cedar Hollow Inn has fantastic food and atmosphere. I am so lucky to live near such a great place like this and my boyfriend and I enjoy ourselves immensely every time we dine there. I would recommend CHI to everyone that enjoys a nice relaxing atmosphere with delicious food. Service is always top notch. Every time we eat there I request the same table we had our first date and Cedar Hollow always accommodates us and makes the evening even more romantic."

  • "Went for Valentines Day. Overall, it was a good choice, however, I wish their website would have indicated that they were going to have a special menu (as other restaurants did). The prices were higher and the selection was much more limited. Neither my wife nor I ordered what we would have liked. Not sure about the service. I don't think we were being "ignored", and I wouldn't call it spotty, but I would have been nice for our waitress to come around another time or two during the meal. That said, the food was good. Although my wife got the trout and scallops, there was only one scallop on her plate. I'd probably go back, but not for a special occasion."

  • "We really enjoyed the food (black bass special, veal osso bocco) wine (Italian red), and our server. The salad was cold and fresh. CHI is a strong neighborhood option. I would like to see a higher quality overall dress code. As it is it's a blue jeans and sweater joint and for me not a special occasion option like an anniversary or birthday dinner. Chef Giuseppe deserves strong kudos and we will definitely visit again ."

  • "We were so pleased with the menu and service on such a busy night. The food was excellent, the timing between courses was perfect, server was professional and live music was great. We were very happy with our choice for the holiday!"

  • "The taste of both entrees that we got was horrible. For the quality of the food I think it was very over priced. The beer menu was printed incorrectly and the server took several try's to understand what was available. We were never told of the specials which when we overheard them at another table sounded better than the menu. Mushroom soup was only ok, I will never have dinner there again. Bar was very loud so I was glad I was at a table on another room."

  • "We learned of Cedar Hollow through a coupon packet...wow what a find! Tried it on the spur of the moment, and we were more than pleased from start to finish. Spinach salad, grilled scallops, and flourless chocolate cake...all totally awesome. And don't forget those cosmopolitans!!! Can't wait to return!"

  • "The food was too expensive and not very high quality. They also did not give enough food and you had to purchase everything separately, such as fries and sides. It was $3 to get fries instead of chips. We were so hungry afterwards that we went to McDonald's."

  • "First visit and won't be our last. Special NY Eve menu was very pricey ( ave $65/ person). We had a group of 4 and only one round of drinks. Regular menu is much more affordable. The food was excellent and the presentation outstanding. You will not be disappointed."

  • "Let me start by saying how great the food was for my recent dinner New Years Eve. While waiting for a table I went to the bar to grab drinks. It was an early dinner so things seemed slow and I literally had no one on either side of me as I waited at the bar for over 5 minutes clearly visible leaning in without being acknowledged by the bar tenders. I’m not a regular at the bar but I’ve been going to the Cedar Hollow for years and this experience really bothered me and put a negative spin on what was otherwise a great dinner. I'm pretty easy going and go out to dinner nearly every weekend so take it for what it's worth but in my mind this type of experience makes the difference between a restaurant being in my regular rotation or not."

  • "My wife and I picked this spot as it was fairly local and we've eaten here before (and enjoyed it). After making reservations on Open Table, we went to the website to look at the menu. We looked forward to enjoying a good dinner at reasonable prices. When we walked in the door, we were told that the Chef had prepared a "very special menu" for the evening. (Not mentioned on the website!). Loosely translated, the menu prices were marked up $10 to $15. I suppose New Years Eve provides a license to increase prices. I had the Cowboy Steak ($43); my wife the Veal Osso Bucca ($40). Both meals were good...but not worth the prices. Service was also attentive. No complaints at all to the food or the service."

  • "We took our adult kids to Cedar Hollow Inn for our annual Christmas Celebration. Service was very good...attentive, but not overly bothersome. We had appetizers and entree's... dessert was back at our house. The appetizers were very good and each of our entree's was delicous. Just the right portion size... not too small, but not spilling off the plate. The restaurant was decorated beautfully...very festive for the season. Overall a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely be back."

  • "I loved how the restaurant was off the beaten path in a woods setting. I also enjoyed how they had a bar, yet private dining areas. I took my wife there for her birthday dinner. The spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was excellent, even ate the bread bowl. She had gnocchi with a butternut squash sauce and I had the sautéed jumbo scallops with sweet potato slices and asparagus. Before the entrée, she had the house salad and I had a Ceasar salad. The salads were full of lettuce and the entrees had great presentation. For dessert, an orange cranberry cheese torte with vanilla ice cream. Very good! Would recommend this restaurant to someone who likes a restaurant and bar scene. Will be back again to try other dishes!"

  • "We took an out of town guest here to celebrate their recent nuptials. the candle lit tables created just the right ambience. We relaxed and were never rushed. Our meals were outstanding both in presentation and taste. Two meals were stuffed with crabmeat and truly were "stuffed". The evening was exactly what we had hoped it would be."

  • "One of my faves. Great menu that changes slowly, and old favorites have refined and improved over time. The mushroom bisque is fantastic!"

  • "I have had both lunch and dinner at Cedar Hollow and have always enjoyed my meal. My recent visit was for lunch with a friend who had never been and she thoroughly enjoyed everything about her meal and the restaurant. They offer a wonderful variety of appetizers, entrees and their desserts are made there too. We will be back for sure."

  • "Lunched here with a friend and we both had a crab salad. The dressing was a wonderful light citrus vinaigrette with a generous variety of greens with mango. Service was friendly, a very nice hostess and server. Beautiful glass sunroom was a pleasant place to dine for lunch. Will return!"

  • "We ordered the light fare duck as an appetizer and it was very chewy. The rest of the dinner was decent, but over priced. We will go back for lunch because the atmosphere and service was excellent."

  • "We always have a wonderful dinner at CHI. The wine, the service and the food is distinguished and unique. The special items are always a treat as are the regular menu selections. It's a secret gem for those who like a found treasure."

  • "Our first visit to this restaurant. I had the Saturday night special Prime Rib and it was excellent. My friend had the short ribs and she also said it was very tender and tasty. However, my other friend had the scallops and she said they were absolutely tasteless. There was a very light butter sauce on them but it really added no flavor. This is our only complaint. Service was warm and efficient. The building is a beautiful old inn with period details and and very cozy. Would definitely Return."

  • "We met my daughter and her husband half way between our homes in Chester and Bucks Counties. What a lovely surprise. We would definitely come again. Good food. Friendly staff. The bar scene picked up as we were leaving but was not an issue for us."

  • "I came to Cedar Hollow Inn with a group of co-workers to just get everyone together - there was no special occasion. It was the first time that most of the ladies had been at this restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the portions were great. Thank you for making this a memorable lunch."

  • "I have been to Cedar Hollow several times for dinner and never disappointed. Good to know--always try something from the specials of the day as it is sure to please. Special that day for an appetizer was sauteed brussel sprouts with pancetta and blue cheese--best I ever had and large enough to share. Equally delicious was my dinner of Grilled Salmon and Parmesan Risotto. Also a winner, which I did not have that night, but have had many previous times, is Wild Mushroom Bisque. The food is fresh, served hot and portions are appropriate. Love the dining in the enclosed sun porch, but when all tables are full, it gets too noisy for a romantic dinner. Great bar area with some table tops and bar menu for later night dining."

  • "Cedar Hollow Inn is trying to be too many things in a neighborhood setting. From the time we arrived to an indifferent greeting to the time we departed past the 5-piece band, we never felt like we were in the nice local restaurant advertised by the menu. The waitress was unschooled and overworked. She didn't serve us most of the evening -- we had to track her down for a second glass of wine. The short ribs were tender and tasty but the large helping of scalloped potatoes dominated the plate. Desert was a kitchen sink variety of pie. Noise in the dining room was robust, the noise from the Bar full of Penn State fans was louder, but the band which started at 9:30 overwhelmed both. When we walked out, I felt like I was escaping."

  • "The standard menu has something for everyone, but my wife and I usually go for the specials which are ALWAYS amazing! Portions are perfect, with spot on pricing. I have never had a bad experience in 20+ years. A must try if you have never been, you will return ;)"

  • "It' probably everywhere but I hate that you can 't get happy hour specials unless you sit at the bar. We went there with elderly people who can't take the noise, the bar stools, and don't drink. So we didn't want to take up 2 seats at the vibrant bar so we went right to the table.......and it cost more for my husband and I to have a cocktail. Shame. On another note no one should go to Cedar Hollow and not get the mushroom soup. It's the best around!"

  • "Friends and I have dined at Cedar Hollow Inn many of times for lunch. A variety of lunch choices all excellently prepared. The staff is very accommodating. Lovely place for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is on Yellow Springs road sometimes during the day you can hear the trucks from the turnpike. You can't seem them, but the noise can be a little distracting if you sit outside on a gorgeous afternoon. I will return again because of the fabulous variety of choices."
