  • "Shared the seafood tower with my husband. WOW! It was amazing and the seafood was so fresh. It is great also to know that all of the seafood they serve is Oceanwise approved so not harming the enviroment with over fishing."

  • "First time to Catch Oyster Bar. Appetizers, drinks and main meal were all excellent. Service was quick and efficient, meals were cook just right. Pricing was as expected for a better than "bar" type food."

  • "A delicious evening meal before heading to the CPO. "Started" the meal with a combination of Atlantic and Pacific raw oysters, followed by scallops finished to perfection. Both were accompanied by a glass of grumpy bear beer, which was the excellent suggestion of our waiter. My husband and I split two very different entries - the swordfish (the best I've ever had) and the curry bowl (lots of seafood and a wonderfully balanced broth). The meal was finished off with a peach crumble and lemon ice cream, which was the perfect size for sharing and not feeling like you "shouldn't have". The service was excellent and at a great pace - we weren't left waiting nor did we feel rushed. A great way to start the evening before strolling over to CPO!"

  • "The food was beautifully presented, tasty, and unique. Flavours were unexpected, but as it turned out....expertly paired. Thank you all for a marvelous dining experience!"

  • "Never disappointed with the chilled seafood platter. Except there could be more oysters. Disappointed with the 5ounce wine glass but maybe that is standard there. 7ounces min. In my opinion. Waitress really nice, surrounded by several cocky businessmen that thought they were the centre of the universe....annoying but humorous."

  • "Hello, Food was great, some notes though. The french onion soup didn't have much broth, but lots of onion. The fish and chips was delicious, however, I found quite salty. Service was lovely, manager stopped by to say hello, always a nice touch. Desert was great, all in all - solid consistent performance by the Catch team. keep it up"

  • "I heard Catch had a new menu and I always love the food so I was excited to try it. To start I had the Tuna Tartar and it was amazing It was served with a yummy sauce and spooned onto Terra Root chips. I would highly recommend this dish!! For our main we shared the Fried Chicken. I was intrigued by the twist on classic comfort food & it did not disappoint! It was slightly smoked and had the most amazing skin coating. I also appreciated that the chicken wasn't overly greasy. It was served with an awesome sausage gravy and came on a bed of fries. I will definitely be back soon with a difficult decision... Do I have the same dishes again because they were to die for or should I try something new on this amazing new menu."

  • "We dined on one of the Seafood Towers offered by the restaurant and it was terrific. Our waitress (Annabelle) was super helpful with a wine pairing for the offering and even splitting other appetizers for us to enjoy in single serving mode. We were a little rushed to complete dinner to get to a 'show' and every effort was made by the 'Catch Crew' to ensure we were able to make the show on time. Everyone was vibrant and dynamic. A terrific pre-event stop that started a wonderful evening, for sure! Thanks to all at 'Catch Oyster Bar'!!!!"

  • "Luckily I went on Tempura Tuesday. They have tempura shrimp for $2 each and they are the best I have ever had! My salmon burger was amazing, the only critique I have is that they could leave the tempura anchovy out of the Caesar salad."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The food was delightful and the service from our waitress was really good. She was a sweetheart. We would recommend this place and definitely return."

  • "We came here for our anniversary and was greeted by a very nice and helpful hostess. We made a mistake when booking our reservations and she did everything she could to try and fix it and make our experience great (which she did awesome at!). However, our server was pretty blah. He seemed to not have time for us and didn't spend more then a couple seconds at a time at our table, and almost seemed mad to have more people in his section. And his attitude made us feel like he hated his job and would have rather been any where else. The food was great though which made up for his lack of attention and care."

  • "Started with a selection of East Coast Oysters...excellent. Blackened Catfish fresh and delicious. Crab was very satisfying."

  • "I have been to Catch many times...the oyster bar downstairs mainly...and it has never disappointed. The oysters are so good, esp wth a glass of prosecco. And the halibut dish on risotto was perfect! It was their special of the night so I am asking, maybe even begging, Catch to put in on their regular menu. So good!!"

  • "All very lovely and fresh. A great place if you are in the mood for seafood and great wine."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "Generally food and service were adequate, but nothing special, especially for the price. The fish with the fish and chips was heavily battered and over-cooked. That maybe typical Calgary seafood, but not what you would expect from a seafood specially restaurant. Nothwithstanding this is a bar, Catch is presumably more upscale than some. The presentation and the demeanor of the staff should be more reflective of this."

  • "Awesome. Food was amazing. Definitely enjoyed the east coast oysters over the west. Seared scallops then butter lobster was very good, no great! Had made reservation for Oyster Bar but was able to be fit in upstairs at Restaurant. As menus are different, must go back and try Oyster Bar. Service was genuine and good."

  • "first our reservation was mess up -- when I booked via open table, I was linked to Oyster bar. when we sat down at Oyster bar and told them we like to try bit taste Calgary menu, we were told it should be at restaurant. so we went upstairs, which was nice and quiet. Food was not bad, first course --- noodle dish was a little bit salty side, second course, the chowder was rich and way too much, at least for a female dinner. Main dish, fish with beans stewed with veggies, beans were not cooked through, still pretty crunchy. So I was not too impressed with that. During the entire dinner, waiters barely came back to check on us and ask how the dishes are, they came back to ask only when they took away our plates after each course."

  • "We are big fans of the Catch Oyster Bar. The food is consistently great and the service is friendly. They serve the best Oysters Rockefeller in town. The open kitchen is really nice as well."

  • "A good selection of seafood choices. We had them crab cakes which had lots of crab meat, dozen east cast oysters (very fresh), moules frites (Thursday special of mussels and fries) and pork chop. Portions were decent and taste was good. Would recommend"

  • "Catch has the best customer service of any restaurant I have ever been. From management to the servers they were not only polite but really seemed to care about the customer. Outstanding!!! Food and ambience is second to none but its the customer service that will keep me coming back."

  • "The Catch is a great place but on Valentine's Day...it lacked in expectations. The restrooms had some issues, so they had a truck outside that was assisting, but while that was happening they left the outside doors open which made the restaurant chilly. Customers had to go across to Thompson's to use the restrooms. The food was good but not great, the meal that evening did not meet my expectations. For a $200 dinner I did not see or taste the value. I don't mind spending +$200, on a good evening with excellent food, but the Catch, failed in that category. Service was fair. On a side note, it was surprising that the Catch did not have a wireless debit/credit card machine...they need to get wIth current technology."

  • "I was fully impressed with everything especially on the second night of Valentines. The food was great, the service was amazing, especially when our server offered to pair our wines with our course. It was not only enlightening, it made our meals fun and great tasting."

  • "If you really want to treat yourself and another (or more) and you love chilled seafood, then don't hesitate to order the Seafood Tower. Impressive display and everything was absolutely perfect. We shared the small tower between two ($80) and just to finish off with something else, each ordered an appetizer. Look forward to going to Catch again on a future trip back to Calgary."

  • "We went there for a business lunch as I'd been there (upstairs) for dinner years before and it was good. The noise level was crazy! We had to go look for our party as no one offered to seat us. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our order and another 30 to actually get it. I had ordered the mussels Provençal and ended up getting Thai curry which I kept given the time it took to get. It was very salty. One of us ordered the mahi mahi on recommendation and it was horrible. Dry and burnt on top. Another ordered the Thai curry bowl and it was "ok". Given the high prices and the fact that they supposedly specialize in seafood, our experience was a major disappointment."

  • "The food was amazing, but overpriced. We would come back but only on special occasions. We had the chowder, Oysters, Lobster and bacon covered fish. All was good! The only downfall was when we were still working on our fries the servers cleared our table and before we could say anything she dumped our fries into our lobster discards. She didn't even ask and we were obviously still eating them."

  • "My husband and I have dined at Catch 5 times in the past few years: twice upstairs and thrice downstairs. It's our go-to place when we crave seafood (outside of actually moving to the coast, or Hawaii). Our server on Wednesday was exceptionally good, her timing perfect. We had the seafood platter, again. Delicious. And I love the wines-by-the-glass feature. Great food, great service, and heated parking at the Hyatt. What more could a Calgarian want, especially in January?"

  • "I'm rather unadventurous and tend to enjoy the fish and chips here--on previous occasions I've had a seafood curry and the shrimp. The Oyster Bar is far preferable to the upstairs restaurant, being much livelier and less formal. A very enjoyable experience, one of my favourite destinations in town and certainly one of the absolute best for fish and chips. I do rather like those."
