Carmello's-OttawaSecret little gemWe purchased a 4 ticket deal with Groupon which included a three course meal and a bottle of wine. I was actually quite happy to discover this restaurant. I used to own a fine dining restaurant and used to be a chef, so I am always a tad weary of deals like this. All four of us were very impressed with the service and to some extent, the quality of the food (please remember I am quite picky). The portions of the appetizers was impressive and had a beautiful presentation. I had the Marsala New York Strip which was delicious, although I thought they were a bit skimpy with the Marsala wine. Everyone else loved their plates and also commented on the generous portions. If the weather's cold (like it was Monday and Tuesday this week), you're seated inside. If the weather's gorgeous, you're outside on the patio, taking in the rays and watching the world walk by. Topped off by excellent service and good food.
