Those trips always include a dinner out at Canyon Creek. Last weekend we travelled with 3 of our 4 grown kids and we all enjoyed a wonderful meal as always.

All within walking distance. The restaurant was great. we had the prime rib and porkchop dinner. IT WAS WONDERFUL. The waiter was very helpful with our menu selections. We told him we had to be at the Blue Jays game at seven and and he made sure that we were done in time to walk to the ballgame. The restaurant was full when we arrived at 6:45, however, about a half hour later it was much quieter. The same night was the opening game of the baseball season at Skydome and also a concert at the ACC. So, the restaurant was extremely busy. As soon as we sat down the waiter asked if we were attending the game. We weren't, but it was nice that he was a least taking this into consideration. The food was good, served in a timely manner and the waiter very polite and efficent. I have been to the downtown Canyon Creek location a number of times and always find the food and service to be consistent. It's a chop house so take the fine dining experience to be more about the environment, the service, the knowledge of the wait staff rather than how fancy the food looks on the plate and the creative use of spices and herbs. Our waitress (can't recall her name) was outstanding. Her knowledge of the menu and her suggestions on how to alter some items for food allergies was excellent. The professionalism of the arrival experience is also something that plays into the overall experience and it was also outstanding. Friendly, professional and attentive.2/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
