  • "Camp Verde General Store and Restaurant is a great place to spend a few hours, lunching and shopping. The pecan cobbler is my new favorite dessert. I was also impressed by the chef's willingness to customize my order: I usually have a grilled chicken breast on top of a salad. This is not on the menu, but they have no problem in putting this together for me. The General Store offers a lovely variety of treasures. I especially like the Thymes brand of fragrances, with the Jade Matcha being my favorite. Lightly scented, and, the bar soap is awesome. A bar lasts over 2 months! I lovelovelove Camp Verde!!!"

  • "We enjoy everything about Camp Verde from the outdoor landscaping, the general store, restaurant and the staff. We live 40 minutes away and treat our visit to Camp Verde as a special get away. We are now taking our out of town company for a nice day outing in the country and a pleasant dining experience. Look forward to coming over for dinner as well as lunch."

  • "This was my first visit, but won't be my last! It is so beautiful inside and out. Ate inside because it was very hot day, but outside would be nice in cooler weather. Service was excellent and the food was amazing! I had the Hotsy Totsy sandwich with sweet potato tots...wonderful and enough for two people. Not only do I plan to come back, but I will surely recommend this place to others. Two of our guests were from California, and they were very impressed. Thank you...don't change a thing."

  • "Was disappointed with the chicken salad sandwich--really wanted a half sandwich but was told by the waitress that you no longer serve halves--the chicken salad was really failing in taste--I can make GOOD chicken salad--this was not. I was asked by the waitress if I needed a take home box for the remaining half of my sandwich and I said"NO". Service was extremely slow--maybe, the kitchen was overwhelmed by our party of 5."

  • "Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Camp Verde restaurant for lunch. Between us, we sampled the Jolly Reuben and Pulled Pork sandwiches and the chicken strips. The Pulled Pork sandwich was piled high with tender pulled pork--so much that at least half of it had to be eaten with a fork from the open bun before the top of the bun could be replaced so that it could be eaten like a sandwich. The Jolly Reuben was good, but we wouldn't rate it as one of the menu stars. It was a little dry, and probably sat cooling for a few minutes while the chicken strips were cooking. The latter received raves, because their breading was crunchy and they were served piping hot. The onion rings also were outstanding. We'll be back again & again"

  • "I met with some friends for lunch and really enjoyed the dining room since they made it quieter. Debbie, our waitress was wonderful. We even had dessert. I'm looking forward to the day they are open for dinner."

  • "My husband and our good friends just loved your restaurant. The food was wonderful; the prices very reasonable; our waitress was very friendly and got our orders perfect; the view from our table breathtaking; the acoustics great - we barely heard any of the other diners. My girlfriend & I loved the purse caddy - what a unique idea! We and our friends will absolutely return here again. We can't wait to try some of the other menu items. The gift shops were an added bonus."

The sandwiches are a meal and Donna' Meatloaf is a feast. If you are looking for a very unique setting that is relaxed yet elegant, I highly recommend Camp Verde to anyone."

Very affordable and if I lived closer it would be very hard not to go several times a week. Excellent job on all the things that make this special. Also, great collection of gift and gourmet items."

They have special favors of ice cream, I have had samples they were very good also. There is a store there where you can look around at a variety of things, it's really neat and clean."

  • "This place is beautiful! The menu is rather small, and nothing fancy. Kinda wish the menu selection was as extraordinary as the surroundings. And I really wish they were open for dinner! We went for a late Sunday lunch. Glad we had reservations. They went to great lengths to sound condition the room, so while it is very open, with lots of windows and concrete floors, you could still hear your dining partner without having to yell. The waitstaff seemed mature, experienced, and friendly. Since they aren't open at night, It would be a fabulous place for a wedding reception or private party. Don't know if they do that."

  • "In the Texas Hill Country there are lots of places to eat that are quaint or unique. However most of them rely on the food suppliers with their prepackaged portioned food to hold down prices and expedite service, That is truly not the case at Camp Verde. When I ordered a salad before my lunch the server told me is was a large salad and she could make me a side salad for half the menu price. It was perfect. The must have a true school trained chef because attention to detail is amazing, The sandwich breads a either homemade or made by a local bakery. The sandwiches did not look like the portion controlled presentation elsewhere. WeI had an excellent BLT and Chicken Salad. Great homemade potato chips."

  • "A favorite lunch spot - it's a drive but able to stop at the Ranch Store in Babdera to get bird food, great cards at Ace so factor in the great lunch, well worth the effort. I took a friend this last trip who hat the pork chop and said it was perfectly cooked, the vegetables still crunchy and the mashed potatoes were delicious. I always get the Chef Salad though the hamburger is what I want. It looks to die for. Never fails."

  • "Beautiful location, great food, and huge gift shop. The Arthur sandwich is my favorite, but everyone raved about theirs, as well. Love the extra touches, such as the olive skewered on top of the sandwich, the deli style kosher pickles and homemade potato chips; the chocolate covered strawberries with the gelato--almost too pretty to eat! Always a treat! Worth the drive!!! "

We, the part of six, was seated immediately by the window as requested. The food server was cordial and very attentive, esp.to Grandma. The food was delectable and the price very reasonable, not to mention the generous portions.Walking the manicured grounds was enjoyable. We took photos that will remind us of a blessed Mother's Day. Camp Verde is a delightful Hill Country destination."

  • "The trip to Camp Verde is a beautiful 'road less traveled' to a destination for the the locals as well as those visiting the Texas Hill Country for the first time. Friendly ambiance, good food with a gourmet spin, and a store for shopping for truly lovely unique gifts and special Texas items--everything you look for to share time with friends or with out of town guests. Camp Verde is always on my list of places to go and experience the best of Hill Country Texas. "

  • "we went as an excuse for an outing. definitely worth the trip. great scenery and fun general store. Even better if the store had gourmet chocolate, but the desserts at the restaurant were more than adequate to satisfy our sweet tooth."

  • "The menu is interesting and makes you want to come back and try something else. Also, they have installed acoustic panels that help with the noise a lot. If I were running the show, however, I would put a few more in there. It is not the quietest restaurant you will ever patronize."
