Diner Reviews
  • "I have visited many times and this is such a hidden secret. The food is always very exceptional and the staff is among the best... just love Deb! The noise level can be a bit much, however."

  • "This charming neighborhood gem has great food and lots of atmosphere."

  • "This was my first visit to Terra Cotta. The food was good. I'm a foodie, so my expectations are pretty high. There was nothing in my friends meals or my meal that really made me salivate. I had the calamari appetizer and I thought the serving size was small for the $13 price. I liked the noise level and the ability to hear my friends. the service was good."

  • "Despite having a relatively limited menu, the offerings at Cafe Terracotta are unique, flavorful and definitely satisfying. One of my issues, however, is that diners are almost forced into purchasing vastly overpriced bottles of wine since their per-glass options are minimal."

  • "Cafe terracotta is a converted residence. The interior is warm with exposed brick, wood floors and original art (complete with pricetags). The service was adequate, certainly not attentive. The food is good, but overpriced. A bowl of soup is $9. Seriously? For tomato bisque? Our entrees were served with a pile of sauteed greens, leaving the plate looking like something was misssing. Flavors were good, temperatures were appropriate and the raspberry mousse was ;lovely. A nice evening albiet somewhat expensive for a neighborhood gem."

  • "I had not been to Café Terra Cotta in a few years because prior experience was not that memorable. This past time it was great. The food was really good! At the last minute we had to request a change to the reservations. They were very accommodating which was surprising because that evening they were busy. I will go back again soon!"

  • "We love Cafe Terra Cotta. It is nice in the summer to sit outside and the food is always very well prepared. Walleye is excellent and the pork chop with white beans also very good. We had a lemon cake for dessert which had a very nice light icing. The service was excellent although we waited quite awhile for the desserts."

  • "We go for the calamari appetizer and stay for dinner. Service is typically very attentive but seemed unusually rushed this time. Always have good meals and decent wine choices. Prefer to eat outdoors on front patio but not when its snowing. Indoors is always noisy due to small room and brick walls."

  • "We've eaten at Cafe Terra Cotta probably 5 times over the last few years and have always rated the experience as very good +. This last time not so much. Walleye was uninspired...too much breading and no pizazz. Spinach served with the Chicken Wellington was too vinegary. Service fell off as the restaurant became more busy. Still a nice place to dine and we will give it another chance."

  • "We had the calamari, filet, and scallops - and all were excellent. It's a cool, historic building with a simple but satisfying menu. It's louder than you'd expect - not a bad thing, just a bit of a surprise."

  • "This is a first class restaurant in "old" Littleton. It's in a converted brick house with lots of charm. Food was excellent. I had lamb chops--mmm, never had better. My wife and our friend each had the Walleye. This can be a dangerous choice in some restaurants but not in the hands of the Terra Cotta chef! They were very pleased. Prices are within a reasonable range given the quality of the food and the restaurant overall."

  • "Though we like to try different restaurants in our area and promote individualism in food, we'd always thought Cafe Terra Cotta would be too expensive for anytime. But, our anniversary provided us an excuse to try it - and, we were thrilled! The prices for dinner are right in line with other upscale restaurants and the food rivals any. And, we found out they have breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices and the atmosphere is great for sharing with out of town guests. The location is such I know this will be an alternative for the other downtown places we enjoy!"

  • "Terracotta was one of my favorite restaurants, but this visit seemed completely different. I ordered the Berkshire Pork Chop again because it was so good the time before. It was dry, and at least 1/3 was pure fat that was not edible. The veggies were also a big disappointment this time - very tough to even cut. Much more difficult to try and chew. I think it was endive??? I ate them only because I was so hungry. Their bread is excellent and that is a good thing because the portions were, in my opinion, way too small. We also ordered the scallops. The taste was good, but why not put a couple more on the plate, especially for the price? To spend $120 (including tip) on dinner and just 2 glasses of wine, I expected better food and more of it."

  • "What a find! I loved everyhing about my dining experience at this restaurant and will absolutely be back! I will also be recommending it to my friends.."

  • "The one thing I was not happy about was the tables were somewhat crowded. We were seated at a very narrow two-person table and these tables were very close to one another. It was very difficult to have a private conversation. We could hear everything being said at the other tables as well. We asked for a larger table and were told they were all reserved. However, we saw that some of these larger tables were empty almost the entire time we were there. That sort of put a damper on the whole experience. I also thought the menu was somewhat pricey. The food was very good."

  • "Good food but loud and overly seated.Kept bumping elbows with guy behind me. Overly priced. Pulled the old bait and switch for 5280. Too many additional charges, especially compared to the big steak houses in town with a bigger 5280 menu and no add on charges."

  • "(I went there with my husband. The meal (especially the calamari appetizer) was excellent. We were disappointed when we ordered the scallops (for and additional $8), that there were only 3. We didn't feel that we got our moneys worth. Other than that, we were pleased."
    Dined on 2/27/2014
  • "The Chicken Wellington that everyone raved about was unsalted, unspiced cream cheese chopped chicken in a bun. Sooo disappointed in that. The appetizer had sugar in it. The bread dipping sauce had sugar in it. The dinner had a red sugar syrup around it. I don't need sugar on every single plate. Ick. BUT, the chocolate dessert was the best part. A deconstructed "almond joy" without the almond.... awesome chocolate. I am afraid to go back for dinner... I will only go to Terra Cotta for Breakfasts... never been disappointed in that."

  • "I appreciate a vegetarian option for the appetizer but the fondue was extremely heavy, although good. Food and service was excellent. The sweet potato soup was light and flavorful. But, the wine was over priced (Frei Chardonnay) as well over a 50% markup."

  • "The food & service were great. BUT the price was exorbitant. 5280 week pricing should be $30 pp. The restaurant served one (1) appetizer for two people, an additional one would have been another $8, salads were not included and were an additional $8 each, and a main course Pork Chop serving was also an additional $8. House wine was $12 a glass. If you are going here, bring a pile of $."

  • "We had a very nice dinner. The restaurant is in an old Victorian brick home. Very quaint. We were seated immediately. The menu was nice, although an appetizer they had advertised was NOT being offered that night. The manager saw how disappointed I was, and had the chef prepare that particular appetizer just for us. I thought that was extremely nice of him, and the app was delicious, by the way! Something I had never had before. We will definitely go back!"

  • "The food was disappointing. The appetizer was ok but the dipping sauce was cold. The pork chops were recommended as being outstanding and they were not. There was a lot of ffat and was tough to eat. Then, I became aware when I go the check there was an additional charge of $8 for the chops. The waiter did not mention that and it was my mistake that I did not notice on the menu. So I paid more for an entree that was not worth it. I typically am not a complainer about restaurants. I had heard this was a great place to eat. I apparently hit it on a bad night."

  • "Backstory: Terra Cotta was a place that my husband took my mother to ask her if he marry me. They were quite fond of this restaurant; loved the food and service. A few days ago for 5280, We couldn't wait to eat dinner. The ambience was good, the house is adorable: outdoor seating, exposed brick inside with dim lighting. The service was horrible. They were slightly understaffed but they made no mention to refilling waters, if we wanted wine, or how our food tasted. 5280 only included a appetizer that was shared (between 2 people), a Dessert that was shared, and an entree. The salad/soup which was a course on the menu was $9 extra. A pro: Food was Excellent! Con: Service was horrible & it took forever. Suggestion: Don't eat here during 5280!"

  • "Tucked out of the way in downtown Littleton this place is a gem. In an historic home, the atmosphere is very cool. And the only thing better than the service was the food. One of us had the chicken, the other scallops. Outstanding! Great desert candy bar as we'll. highly recommend!"

  • "Beautiful restaurant, great ambiance Small intimate feel inside- can't wait to try it in the summer and sit outside on the patio! Service was outstanding, attentive without hovering Food was a treat - enjoyed each course to the fullest Nice to see on the menu that most meals can be made gluten free Will definitely return."

  • "Cafe Terra Cotta is always a favorite. This is the first time we tried the special Valentines Holiday Menu. My order of a Rib Eye steak was a new item, and perfectly done. I just about licked the plate. The only negative, (thought that word is maybe too strong), is the wait staff seemed a bit distracted, or understaffed, this visit. Hard to for me tell. Gus was a very good server, as he is Very professional, and polite. But not his usual more personable self. He seemed a bit harried, and it was hard to get his attention at times. No worries, and good people have up & down days. Thus 4, rather than 5 stars for service. If I could make it a 4.5, I would but the buttons don't do increments. We will be back, and will hope to see Gus again."

  • "My husband and I had our first date here 3.5 years ago. It was a lovely brunch served on the patio. We never went inside that day, so we were unaware of the interior design. I was hoping for a nice cozy romantic dinner, but we were seated against the wall with 4 other couples. Given the length of the table, I was closer to my neighboring diners than I was my husband. I felt I had to talk loudly just to be heard across the table. And since I knew I could hear neighboring diners conversations, they could hear mine. I was very disappointed by this. It was not what I was expecting at all. There were no other seating options since it was valentines weekend and they were booked. Food was good. Service very good."

  • "Don't want to go downtown, but still craving a unique dining experience and atmosphere? Cafe Terra Cotta is tucked away in historic downtown Littleton, inside an Historic Landmark home. The atmosphere is both intimate and inviting, and the chefs always have a selected listing of unique and appealing dishes. Great spot for smaller groups, ladies' night out, and for dates. Great service and attention to detail. Food quality is exceptional."

  • "My meal was rough.I had stuffed calamari that had lots of potential but there were numerous pieces of something so tough (like cartilage) that I had to spit it out several times. My wife's meal on the other hand was outstanding. So over all, the place has potential and I love the atmosphere. We will try again and this time, stay awAy from the stuffed calamari (not to be confused with their calamari appetizer)"

  • "We ended up choosing this restaurant by chance for date night. It turned out fabulously! They offered a great selection of gluten free items, even gluten free bread. The scallops were extremely well prepared and they are not easy to prepare well. We will absolutely be going again!"

  • "Has to be one of top restaurants in Littleton. All food was great, had lamb chops & salmon, plus chocolate peanut butter pie. Pureed peas terrific. Service was average, but adequate. Several large groups there. Have been in summer and patio dining delightful."
