This local treasure has amazing
food and the best location! It's a bit loud and could use more space, but that just proves that it's popular. The service is great and I'm always left wanting to come back for more!"

Having spent 3 weeks in Belgium
for work last year - and loving every minute of it - I was surprised to find such an authentic Belgian menu in Orange County. I went in with a healthy dose of skepticism but found that it was everything I hoped it would be and more. My partner and I had Belgian-style oysters, beef stew, fries, beer, and waffles and each was delicious. The hostess was extremely sweet and our service was great. Not the most traditional Valentine's Day spot, but we loved every minute of it."

The food was quite good. My wife
and I shared the mussels appetizer. These were the best mussels we have eaten in years. Our main dishes were pasta with meat sauce and sea bass. My wife really enjoyed the pasta and I enjoyed my sea bass. Unfortunately was fish was undercooked, according to my personal taste, but I am sure others might have enjoyed it. The good news is that our server handled the situation immediately and graciously, even offering a free glass of wine. The crepes dessert was superior in every aspect. Overall this was a great fun night and we will be back."

We had a wonderful evening at
Brussels Bistro , the food was excellent , the ambience upbeat and the service was outstanding! Highly recommend it."

Had dinner with my wife here,
great service even though the restaurant was busy. Great beer list, many Belgian beers that you will not find elsewhere. Had steamed mussels with belgian fries (mussels were good, plentiful serving size) and chilean sea bass in parchment paper (excellent). Also had duck confit tacos and assorted cheeses for appetizers, a good combination of flavors all in all."

My fiancé and I came for
Valentine's Day, and it was one of the best special-occasion meals we've had! We are visiting from out of town and came based on a friend's recommendation. Great atmosphere - fun and relaxed (we didn't want anything too foofy) - and even though the space isn't that big, they leave enough room between the tables to not feel like you're dining with your neighbors. Service was really good - just the right amount of attentiveness - and our server picked beers for our flight and my fiancé loved all of them. And then the food! We had the best Greek salad either of us has ever had - deelish! I had the pasta carbonara (not something you would typically order at a Belgian place) but it was amazing! Mussels for my guy!"

Brussels Bistro never disappoints.
The food is always impeccably prepared, with the finest ingredients and the flavors divine. Whether you are coming for the all you can eat mussels or the beef stew, you will feel transported into Belgium."

Mussels were not full. Salad was
good. Generally not worth the money"

I have been here many times and
love it! The European basement style restaurant has a very fun atmosphere not to mention a wonderful beer selection...some very special choices. Staff knows them well and will quickly help you in making a selection if you need. Brought a friend here for the first time who is a big beer fan..............we enjoyed so many and had a string on constant appetizers delivered to us. We had reservations at 8:00 on a Friday and stayed till they walked us out to close up for the night. Great time for both of us."

This food is definitely not the
standard American fare. Felt like I was is Europe and LOVED it. I will be back to tray at least half the menu."
Dined on 1/25/2014
The food was delicious as always.
W e come specifically for the steak tartare. . Our waiter was attentive, funny and helpful. Fantastic ! Our guests enjoyed it immensely.."

Food is amazing. Servers work so
hard - the best. The music is great. Such a special little place. The only issue is that it is so small that they'll sit people at the tables that your reservation is also overtaking. So with our issue - we had 13 people and the reservation was at 8:30. They had to put together about 3 tables to make a table of 13. At 8:30, they were still waiting for the other diners who had come earlier to finish. Two tables finished around 8:40, and our party wasn't all together yet (there were 8 of us) so we sat there. But then about 30 minutes later the rest of our party arrived, but they were still waiting for the other diners to finish. So they had to sit at the bar. So know that you could be waiting."

Fine, but not some place I'd hurry
back to. We are in search of someplace really great to meet friends (half way between San Diego and LA) this is not it. but, fine if nothing else is available."
Dined on 1/18/2014
Love this place. Has a true euro
feel in it. Food is great and staff is nice to deal with. On Friday & Sat nights at 10 they clear the tables and have dancing."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Just the aromas coming-in will
make you want to order everything on the menu… "Moules - Frites" are awesome! But you MUST have the lava cake at the end (make sure you order it ahead of time!"

Wife is on a mssion to duplicate
Mussels she had in NY at Waterzooi. That's all she has talked about since Memorial Day. We found out about this restaurant on Monday from a friend and went Monday night. It sounded similar. A Belgium Retaurant specializing in Mussels. Well she ha 2 pots of the things. The sauce that she was looking to duplicate like Waterzooi was different but she still liked them. I had the Beef Stew and although tasty, I thought the amount of meat in it was on the weak side for $21.00! The service was excellent. Laura, with a French accent was excellent, new her menu and beers and was just a sweetheart! We'll certainly go back."

Went for dinner while on vacation
here. Our server was very nice and efficient. The food was good. My mussels were a little bland. My husbands pork shank was very tasty. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun...I would go back and try some other dishes."

We went to this bistro on the
Sunday before New Year's and it was moderately busy. Our french waitress was very helpful and friendly, and the provencal mussels were delicious. Great spot for really good food without having to spend a fortune, when you feel like heading to a comfortable, homey, and casual place that simultaneously feels very special."

We arrived approx. 10 minutes
before our reservation but our table was already ready and we were promptly taken in. The restaurant is below street level which was a neat touch. The atmosphere was very lively with a quaint charm. A waitress took our orders for drink and food with just the right amount of time to decide. Foodwise. My date and I split a large Caesar salad served in a fried cheese bowl. It was a bit small for the price but very good. I ordered a pinot noir and a NY Steak medium. It was perfectly cooked and the peppercorn sauce was delicious with it. My date ordered the gruyere burger medium. Also delicious. We were too full for dessert. Highly recommend."

Tomas consistently offers great
food that is truly "European" and not easily duplicated by most restaurants. We have been loyal patrons since Brussels Bistro opened seven years ago. We have never been disappointed by the food or the staff."
Dined on 12/29/2013
Excellent Belgium beer selection
and excellent flavors! The Macaroni and cheese is delicious and worth every calorie. The staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant!"

This wee gem of a resturant is a
family favorite of beer aficionados and foodies alike. Which means everyone we know will have something to rave about. The mussels are superior, the frites unparalleled, and the beer menu a knockout. Our waitress was French and served with a flair. The only thing midly disappointing, was the dessert of waffle....... Nnit picky, as we 7 were full, and happy and planning out return trip.."

We were pleasantly surprised.
Great food and service."

Still one of my favorite Laguna
Beach eateries. Great steak tar tar, fabulous mussels, the best burger in Laguna, incredible soups made daily, one of the few places to have Lapin (rabbit), great wines and bear at happy hour...what more can I say? Great servers and bar tenders...I Love it!"
Dined on 11/7/2013
One of our favorite restaurants in
LB, we love it here!"
Dined on 11/9/2013
This is one of my all-time
favorite places before the theater. Highlights are the green bean salad, endive salad, steak tartare and of course the mussels. Never ordered anything I didn't like. Always great European waiters, and the busboy is on top of things-always helpful."
Dined on 10/22/2013
Nice European cafe feel in
downtown Laguna Beach. Personable servers and attentive service, quiet on a Monday night in the fall. Menu has decent variety of dishes to suit most tastes."
Dined on 10/29/2013
Best meal ever!! Had the
special…..they always know how to do it right!!"
Dined on 10/23/2013
We thought the food and the
service were good, however, the noise level made conversation almost impossible. Parking was a nightmare and the there was no ambience. Sorry, maybe we should have had take out from this restaurant."
Dined on 10/6/2013
We had a wonderful night. Our
group was craving Brussels Bistro's delicious hamburger with grilled endive. And so it went 4 burgers, great wine, delicious side salad and yummy "Belgium" Fries (served, of course, with a special mayonnaise blend). We enjoyed the patio and our server Mo was terrific."
Dined on 10/9/2013
superb beer choices. we'll be back
for the meatballs!"

We come here often and generally
service is EXCELLANT."

If you want to feel like you are
in a European Bistro, you will love Brussels! Mussels are a specialty, the steak tartar is delightful, nice selection of draft beer and a perennial favorite of my son, the Brussels Burger! The pom frittes with mayo is just like you find in Belgium..."
Dined on 9/16/2013
Our server was very attentive.
Gave really great recommendations. Was very friendly and took time to talk to us."
Dined on 9/12/2013
The food was amazing here. It is
definitely a loud spot so not a good place for kids (on a saturday night at least). The drinks are delicious and service was great. Try the sea bass, it truly melts in your mouth. The other girls went for the burger and said it was "sooooo good". Try the basil, cucumber martini! On saturday nights, they take out the tables and a DJ plays dance music. Not exactly my taste of music, but fun. Think Euro dance, house music. I would definitely go back."
Dined on 9/1/2013
Took my Dad for a guy's night, and
he was mightily impressed. Food is decidedly European...meaning real, not bottled, canned, or prepared. Like visiting your European grandmere's, you'll love it!"
Dined on 9/3/2013
Not very tasty but exceptionally
greasy. This is a decent beach restaurant but not very good in the grand scheme of things. Incredibly noisy and cramped."
Dined on 8/22/2013
