  • "You have to try the chuck burger it's the best in town!!!! Brunch is great tooo!!!"

  • "The lobster poutine will keep your dreams lobster filled for days. Everything we ate was too notch. Wings have an amazing grill flavour to them from the josper oven, calamari strikes a nice balance with the thinly sliced fennel and aioli and is a welcome departure from the usual heavy battered rings with tzatziki."

  • "We late our waiter convince us to allow him to choose our food options and it was a great choice. They encourage family style so you can try more dishes on the menu. The mini slider appetizers, gnocchi, and beef rib were to die for and the veggie sides of creamed corn and roasted beets with nuts ANC feta - we're still dreaming of them! Great beverage selection and nice wines with a long list of by the glass options. We'll be back! Already recommended it to several people in 24 hours!"

  • "We ate early (5.30) and the servers looked like they'd just arrived for work so initial service (drinks, appis) was slow. But food arrival was timely, the food was great, and there was plenty of it. Even though the restaurant wasn't full, it was noisy, making it hard for our group to talk. But overall good, and I'd go back."

  • "I have been here twice and found the dinner was better than the lunch. Still really though. We sat outside in the hot sun and there were several shady tables around. Wished the server offered to move us after we asked if we could move an umbrella. She just said it wouldn't help and that was it. Not an out of the box thinker I guess. Otherwise she was very nice and gave good service."

  • "The place had a nice look and atmospher. The food was good. But most of all, our server knew his menu like the back of his hand and was very accommodating even with out-of-menu requests."

  • "Friendly and knowledgeable staff, a great menu, and delicious cocktails and beer. Went here on a whim a few months ago, and now it's become our go-to place with friends. Everything is good for sharing, and we're yet to find something on the menu we don't love."

  • "Our server was amazing! Wish I could remember his name, but good friendly attitude, recommended some great dishes to the group and it was like he had a buzzer that went off when our waters were empty bc he was always there to refill! Good laughs, great food!"

  • "Great food with a open view to the kitchen. Staffs were friendly and careful about food allergy. I would recommend my friends."

  • "Great place for groups as it can get a bit noisy. The family-style dining was perfect for our group of 7 as we were all able to have a taste of everything, and it made it more interactive and fun. The scallops with charred leeks is absolutely delicious! The deviled eggs were just ok. The paella just tasted like fried rice. The 48oz tomahawk ribeye was really tasty, especially with the almond and tomato salsa. Wish they gave us more of the salsa to go with it. The mushrooms however needed way more seasoning, just tasted like oily sautéed mushrooms with I flavour. I also had their Oolong Lady cocktail - yummy!!! The price we found was also surprisingly reasonable. Overall a fun place to go with pretty good food."

  • "The food was good, it was quite loud in the restaurant but that is not a bad thing."

  • "Very noisy, expensive in food and deserts. Only a few booths, all tables not as cozy with tables, thus more noise I think"

  • "Was here on Sunday, June 22, 2014 for the first time and the menu was very diverse from poutine, fish, steak, pasta, sandwiches. Good food to share especially the Tomohawk experience with the 48 oz steak. I found it fit for about 4 people with 1-2 side items. The steak was more on the rare to medium rare side and had good presentation with the bone in. We had the lobster poutine to start and it was delicious, while finishing off with dessert the white chocolate mousse and the warm chocolate pot. Overall it worked out to about $40/person for a 3 course meal to share with drinks. Good value, good location, and nice ambience. I would go back to try out the other dishes with a small group of friends."

  • "This is the second time I have introduced a new group of friends and family to the brunch. It has been a huge hit with everyone that I have taken, including my very difficult to please, foodie brother. The big comment has always been how affordable the tab was for such amazing food. This is my absolute favourite place to take people for drinks and for food anytime of day as the service is just as impeccable as the food."

  • "There were 4 of us for lunch and none will return due to noise level, could not have a conversation. Food and service very good, so if you just want to eat and not converse you are good to go."

  • "Our group of 5 girlfriends went to Briggs for a nice dinner. While the food was nothing special and the selection was limited, I must commend the staff on their amazing service. We had some issues with our food, and our server Abby and the manager went above and beyond to make our meal a good one. They paid a lot of attention to us, genuinely seemed like they cared, and we ended up leaving with smiles on our faces. While I probably won't go back due to the limited menu, I definitely appreciated their effort."

  • "Returned to Briggs for Brunch on Father's Day after having such a wonderful time there for a brunch on Mother's Day. We found it great once again. Terrific food, friendly and efficient staff who clearly work in a team environment. Great experiences which have us returning for sure."

  • "As it was my graduation, I wanted to go somewhere special for dinner. We chose Briggs because we had heard that it was a fun, up and coming venue with delicious Old Fashioned's and food. Upon being placed in the private room, the manager immediately greeted us and checked up on us twice thereafter. Our server was knowledgeable and even nominated me for the $150.00 per bottle wine sharing program where another table buys a bottle at a discounted price, but then shares a glass to someone in the restaurant. It was the perfect ending to an amazing day. I will certainly be back!"

  • "Everyone was really friendly but we had like 10 different ppl serve, pour water, clear etc. to the point it was annoying. At one point a server was practically reaching around the corner behind the arm of my friend to fill up our water. Like enough already! It's very interruptive to our conversation and distracting to have people ask THAT much if we need anything. So really friendly, good service but just take it down a notch on the #of people serving and # of times they come round."

  • "This is a great place to meet family and friends. The staff was very accommodating to requests and the wait staff was outgoing and kept the mood light. The decor is rustic and warm with brick walls and leather chairs, as well as an open kitchen. It is noisy in the restaurant, but as much can be expected with a more open concept. The food was excellent. The dishes were proportioned nicely and had a unique flavour after cooking in the charcoal oven. I found the best dish to be the chocolate brownie/ lava cake. It was rich and cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "Different setup, kind of like an upscale cafeteria with too many tables jammed into too small a space. The service was good and the food was great."

  • "Briggs is simply awesome! We go about once a month and enjoy every time. Servers are attentive and friendly, hostess remembers our son, managers are present and always chatting and making sure things are good . Food is addictive and never disappoints. Would go every day if we could."

  • "Great ambiance, fantastic service. Best burger I've ever had. Only complaint would be that the menu didn't describe the poutine. Called it classic poutine but the gravy was more onions than gravy. I'm sure it was tasty if you enjoyed onions. The burger and service more than made up for that."

  • "We had a great time dining at Briggs with the Adventure Menu... Pick a price point and just let the kitchen do all the work as they bring out plate after plate... My group is not the easiest foodies to please and we were all quite happy and satisfied with dinner, from the variety of dishes to our very playful servers..."

  • "We made a lunch reservation for 1:00 pm on a Saturday, however after we had arrived and ordered a bottle of wine we were told that we could only order from the Brunch menu which consisted of about 8 items. We were told we could not order off of the regular menu, for lunch until 2:00 pm so we left. "

  • "The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was lively, but there was nothing particularly special about the ambiance. The food was very average... We had the bone in pork belly, the short rib, poutine, lettuce wraps, and lemon pie and chocolate pot for desert. The pork belly was greasy (not fatty like say a prime rib but greasy), the short rib was bland; the poutine was skimpy on the cheese (tasted good though), the lettuce wraps were bland other than "heat", the peanut sauce helped. The lemon pie was mostly meragine and the lemon was frozen in the center. Overall a disappointment."

  • "I've been to Briggs twice and enjoyed my meal both times. What really stands out in my memory though is the excellent service. The servers and management are genuinely concerned that their guests have what they need and are enjoying the experience. I had the lobster ravioli, which was delicious! Reasonably priced menu as well so I'm a big fan!!"

  • "The food was good. The deviled eggs had a nice spice to them and the chips were crunchy, but both the chips and ratatouille lacked salt. No salt shaker in sight. The drinks were okay, but the margarita lacked the sour kick. The portion size was sufficient. Service was friendly, not overwhelming, but a bit reluctant when it came to refilling the water, clearing the table, offering more drinks or food and no question whether we wanted dessert. The place was also quite noisy. If I was from the area I might stop by again, but I wouldn't make the extra trip."

  • "we were interrupted more than 6 times within a 40 minute time there by the wait staff. I know it wasn't busy but we couldn't have a conversation without being interrupted. and probably won't be back "

  • "This was my third trip to Briggs and first time having brunch. The brunch menu was small but well-conceived, covering all the standard brunch categories. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices are very reasonable and quality was high. The house-cured salmon tartine was a highlight. Excellent coffee!"

  • "Went for Brunch on Mother's Day. It was our first time at Briggs, but certainly won't be our last. The service and food were excellent. The attention of the staff to our needs was terrific."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Our service was so poor I will probably never go back. We waited for so long before she even took our drink orders. 2/3 of our coffees were cold when they came. We asked for more sugar, she never came back with more. We finally flagged down the manager who brought us coffee and pointed to the coffee station and said "Next time you need more just go help yourself". If I wanted to have to get my own sugar, I would have stayed home. I asked for my eggs over hard, and the server made a big deal about having to ask the kitchen if they cooked eggs that way... That is literally the easiest way to cook an egg. The food was ok, but the brunch scene in Calgary is so good these days that I would rather go anywhere else and get decent service."
