  • "The Brentwood is the one place where you can rely on consistency in both food (as good as the best in town) and service (wait staff that appears happy, patient and upbeat without being overbearing.) Drinks are stiff, wine list is strong, selection is ridiculously broad and deep and preparations and presentation are outstanding. What more can I say? All overseen by the most laid-back and competent Maitre d'. Perfect evening always with that "Cheers" neighborhood quality."

  • "I love this place! Don't get there as often as I'd like, but always feel like a welcomed guest when I walk in. Can't say enough good things about Brentwood. Except for the noise level. The maximum choice here is "energetic." An understatement, indeed! But I'll be back!"

  • "The best, unknown hot spot. Great ambience, pricey, old world, occasionally celebs show up, and some wouldn't know any of this because too many people are concerned with being in Hollywood if they want to be "hip and cool". Imho, it's a great gem to have on this side of the 405 before hitting the beach. Adam is a bartender there and very cool. I always feel like if I am going to splurge, this place is worth it. I do live nearby, but am not a homeowner in one of the many nearby mansions, just a mere renter, so it is not always within my budget, but it feels good to just walk across the street and have a swanky place to hang out when I feel like it!"

  • "Love the Brentwood: The room is nicely lit, love the rotating art collection and the eclectic music selection. The menu stays current but at the same time, they keep old favorites for all the regulars. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about food and wine. Always a great night."

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times. My pasta was extremely oily and so was my husband's fish (which was tasteless). I got a horrible stomach ache that lasted a day. The waiters are nice and the restaurant if comfortable. Not sure how soon I would try it again!"

  • "I was very disappointed with our time at Brentwood Restaurant. the service was great however the food was expensive and VERY average. It was also extremely loud in the dining room which made it very hard to hear the people at our table. The waitress even misheard my friend's order and he received the wrong meal. Thankfully the waitress was kind enough to exchange it but again- frustrating. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone dining with a party of over 4 people."

  • "Been there too many times to count. Tried the salmon for the first time and it was amazing...It's pricey at $40. But split it with my hubby and it was perfect. I always ask for a 1/2 salad, which they do on request. Never kept waiting for a reservation, always friendly and great service. Michael the maître d is the best! "

  • "The cicken Parm paiilard with garlic butter pasta is spectacular as is the Jidari fried or baked chicked served with Risotto. Their Swan Depot seafood salad is generously layered with shrimp and crab ad is the best Louis salad you can experience. . Also of note ar the oven Olive oil baked baby artichokes with reggiano cheese. Save room for the chocolate bread pudding or the homemade donuts seved with two dipping sauces. Cannot get enough of ths place. This wonderful restaurant is also affiliated withB Capo in Santa Monica which also has a loyal folloeing. Be sure and make a reservation ahead of time and keep your eyes peeled for the localcelebrity clientele,"

  • "We went for an early dinner, started with the steak tartar and then had the hamburger and duck tacos. All were wonderful. The dessert menu was lacking a chocolate cake but had a lot of variety if you were looking for something sweet. Service was attentive and it looked to be a popular spot as there was not a seat to be had by the time we were leaving."

  • "The food is scrumptious. We always start with the Swan Depot salad which is crab, jumbo and baby shrimp atopt shredded lettuce in a lovely loius dressing. Their house chili is superd as are thei steal carpaccio, rib eye, risotto, pasta of the day, mushroom soup, pork chops and my all time favorite: their pounded, bonless lightly fired chicken. The crust is s crispy and light and the chick n is oh so tender. Their rib eye steak is like butter. Splurge for dessert and try the warm chocolate bread pudding - OH MY! This is not an inexpensive restaurant but wonderful for a special eveing and a see and be seen atmosphere."

  • "This was my first time, and the food was delicious! We started with the squash blossoms, and I had the fried chicken. My friend had the short ribs, and we split the strawberry and rhubarb cobbler. I loved that all of the food was organic, and their cocktails were great. Since it was our first time, we got free dessert. I loved the ambience as it reminded me of old Hollywood with the dark booths. I will definitely be back."

  • "We've lived in Brentwood for years and never gone into the Brentwood. Then a friend gave us a guft certificate so we went. We LOVED it and it was nothing like we expected. The menu was diverse and everything we ordered delicious. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere made us feel like we were in New York. We are so glad we found our way there and will go back often."

  • "This is the second time I've been to Brentwood and food is always fantastic. They have incredible fish entrees and steaks. The service is always excellent. The wines are pretty steep in price, so you will need to choose carefully. The only issue I have with Brentwood is that the music is loud and the selection of music doesn't fit the ambience at all. It might be appropriate for the bar area, but this is such a small restaurant the music becomes overpowering."

  • "Drinks good, but the onion rings came luke warm and had to be sent back. Bread--after asking--finally arrived, but with dinner. Not with salad, mind you. With dinner. The Caesar was sent back being, as my friend put it, "the worst salad ever." Replacement salad came with apology from maitre d' that he was given someone else's special "bland" salad. Medium temp steak sent back as too rare. No sides served with old, warmed over baked potato, so we had to ask and wait as potato got even colder. Water glasses empty? Had to ask for refills. Don't remember working so hard to get a meal since reading "The Grapes of Wrath." In sum: the most mediocre experience ever. Never going back."

  • "This was a very nice, dark and romantic restaurant. My date and I both enjoyed our food. We also enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. It was nice to be in a full and energetic restaurant where it was still quiet and dark. The food was delicious and when my date was "not in love" with one of the dishes the management was happy to comp that portion of the meal. Overall an exceptional dining experience."

  • "Our table was not ready at the time of out reservation so the host asked us to wait at the bar. Both bartenders ignored us for a good five minutes before taking our drink order. He served my drink first, then served another party before making my date's drink. Not smooth. I would have preferred if they had served her first. At dinner, service was slow and distracted. I ordered a glass of wine with my streak and the server completely forgot. We did not see him again until after we had finished our entrees. (A wonderfully cooked ribeye that would have gone well with a glass of wine.)Food was great but I would not take a date here if she is less than 50 years old. This place would be good to take you parents or grandparents."

  • "We've been going o the Brentwood for years and I have always given them a very good to excellent rating. However, this last time, they were off! Poor service, our standard drink that we always order had to be sent back and the chicken dish which is our tried and true was NOT even close to being the same! Is there a different chef? What happened??"

  • "Overall this is a good restaurant, the food is good although not better than many better places in L.A., a bit too dark inside, and no windows in a small place makes it a bit unpleasant. But be aware of the $$$, this is a very expensive restaurant for the type of food they serve, which is again nothing special. Two of us having one dish each (a fish with very little side dish and a ravioli pasta), two glasses of wine and two bourbons came out to $150 and of course you have to add tip on top of it. This place has been around for a long time so they must be doing something right. I won't go back though as there are numerous better places with much better atmosphere and food than this place."
