  • "The salad was gritty. I asked for no pepper and he still put pepper on it. The she crab soup and green tomatoes were very good appetizers. My husband got the ahi tuna and his was very good. I got the shrimp and scallops, the asparagus on it was good and the sauce with noodles was very good. The shrimp was chewy and the scallops were not cooked properly. I let my husband have some and he spit it out. I left all my shrimp and scallops on my plate and the h girl picking up dishes didn't even bother to ask why or if i wanted a to go box. Like she already knew it was nasty. It was my husband's birthday so I'm glad his was good, but no we will not be going back."

  • "We tried the Paris 4-course menu with wines selected by the chef, starting with the cod croquette which was excellent and vicysoise. Next was a salad with a light miso dressing (the dressing was definitely on the light side for our taste, but otherwise, an ideal palate cleanser). The main courses were duck confit and beef. Both were excellent, with the duck tender and flavorful and the beef cooked to perfection. Finally, we both had a superb creme brulee. The wines picked to accompany each dish, were excellent choices. We have been meaning to go to Brentwood for several years since we live on the Grand Strand. We are delighted that we finally went. We intend returning since there were several other things on the menu we would like to try."

  • "We tend to be a bit picked about food....at the Brentwood, we had a hard time choosing between the mouthwatering choices. I especially appreciated the "small" versions of many of the choices. I don't use many spices in my cooking, so we're often wary...but the flavor was so fresh and not overwhelming. The service was excellent and all staff was friendly and prompt. They encouraged us to walk around the restaurant which we did. It's quite lovely. We definitely have to go back to try some other dishes"

  • "Our waiter was extremely attentive and glided us from our original table adjacent to a large party to a quiet table without drawing attention. Meals were excellent as were the wines. A very cozy and comfortable regular place to dine."

  • "Nice location and expected a great experience for my wife's birthday. Instead we got a very unpleasant server. She ignored the kids. She did not review any of the specials. She gave my attitude about her lobster tail order, when my wife asked to see the menu again she replied "Oh wow" as if my wife was putting her out. The kids meal was a stuffed chicken breast, spinach and mushrooms. We spent 5 min removing the good stuff from inside so the kids would eat. Scallops and shrimp portion size small for $27. Disappointed at the service, find it ironic the place has a Best of Service Award, obviously this server was not part of that team. She made for a terrible experience. See the full review on Yelp."

  • "We could not have made a better choice for a quiet celebration of our 53rd wedding anniversary. When we had to change our reservation time, we received a positive, good humored response. From the friendly greeting at the door, through courteous, but not intrusive, attention during dinner, to the final pleasure of talking with owner/ chef Erique, our evening was relaxed and enjoyable. The european atmosphere in the old house setting was a rare experience in a town where noisy, seafood restaurants abound. The menu was varied enough to accommodate all tastes, and each item had the French flair that makes food memorable. We will certainly return, not just for a special occasion, but whenever in town."

  • "What could be better than having your French style food prepared by a true Frenchman with classic French cooking techniques! Fantastic sauces on locally sourced fresh ingredients. Plating was visually appealing matching the complexity of the flavours found in each dish. Timing was spot on despite it being a busy night for the restaurant. Overall great find in a quaint "converted old Victorian home" setting. Definitely recommend if you know and appreciate good food."

  • "I have been to Brentwood on special occasions before and been pleased. This experience was not as good. We had a party of 4 and bolt one of the four meals was pleasing. Not having option to substitute soup for salad was a disappointment for one of our guests and charging extra for blue cheese and pears added to small salad was ridulous. I was very dissappointed overall and will not be returning any time in the foreseeable future"

  • "We started going to the Brentwood a few years ago for their happy hours. This is not your usual loud music, fried foods, pick up joint. The happy hour menu is gourmet, the drinks are strong (not watered down like many places) the food is to die for and the service is impeccable. We love to go here for a casual dinner as well as a special occasion dinner. "

We were seated upstairs in the beautiful bar area where our table was decorated and a special message left noting our special occassion. Our server Joe could not have been more attentive, helpful and most of all FUN!! The food was wonderful and the wines served with each course were perfect. This was the epitome of the phrase "dining experience" ! We will be back more often and will always recommend it to friends."

  • "We dined at the Brentwood for my birthday when vacationing in the area in May. The food was quite good, but we waited a long time for each course. The waitress reported "problems in the kitchen." This was forgivable, and the waitress was nice and very apologetic. What bothered us most was that the restaurant simply is not attractive. Hanging on the walls were cheap prints as well as a completely hideous board with various wine opening devices attached, a very poor excuse for "art." It would probably not cost a lot of money to improve the décor in the Brentwood, and it would enhance the dining experience."

  • "Initially we were skeptical about a "French Restaurant" in typically kitsch North Myrtle Beach (actually, Little River, just up the road). Brentwood, however, is a diamond-in-the-rough. Food was excellent (our party of 4 had escargot, petit fillet, scallops, shrimp), perfectly prepared; great wine list; outstanding (and inexpensive!) speciality martinis. Will definitely return next time we're on the coast."

Walking in to the quiet dining area and having celebration confetti on table started it with a bang. Little special touches continued. Our server James was outstanding in his knowledge and affability - made us feel like we were members of the Brentwood family. Not enough adjectives to properly describe the food experience created by Chef Eric - beyond outstanding. Thanks from all of us for such a memorable experience. People should not miss going upstairs to experience the Wine Bistro area."

  • "My husband and I had the distinct pleasure of having dinner here on Saturday. The staff is excellent and make you feel special; the atmosphere is wonderful; the building and decoration is wonderful and then there is the food. My husband had the seafood crepe and I have never seen such a look of complete heaven on his face!!! The rest of the meal was delicious also but that appetizer was the proverbial "icing on the cake" for my husband. The next trip will be asked to be seated in the wine bar area - it looked like a nice place too."

  • "We went for my husband's birthday. The evening was perfect, starting with the excellent house wines. We each had a glass of the Viognier followed by the delicious Brentwood Private Label Merlot. We split the sweetbread appetizer, which was a generous portion. The sweetbreads were lightly breaded and fried. They hadn't been pressed, and were thus light and creamy. My husband had the Pork Osso Bucco, which was done in a traditional vegetable sauce and served over pasta. I had Duck Two Ways, which included sliced duck breast over wild mushroom bread pudding and a crispy confit duck leg. For dessert we split a complementary "birthday" key lime pie. Delightful!"

  • "A few days ago we had dinner at Brentwood's downstairs, now this time upstairs in the Bistro. We liked downstairs better. Last time chef Eric had time to guide us thru the whole restaurant, now this time he did not even have time to greet us, although there were very few people in the Bistro. He spent quite a bit of time with the guests at the table next to us. Service was good and food again was excellent, some dishes slightly too rich for an evening meal."
