Diner Reviews
  • "Our favorite restaurant. We've not had a chance for lunch or brunch but look forward to doing so."

  • "First class in food, service, and view! One of my favorite places in Little Rock. Wonderful dining experience"
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "This was my first time dining at this restaurant and WOW is all I can say! I made reservations for my dad's birthday and it was such a great experience from the amazing food, service, and setting. We sat outside, which is very peaceful (great river views!). I cannot emphasize enough how good the food was, as well as the service! Some of the food we ordered included: appetizers: Heirloom tomato caprese salad, smoked salmon; Entrees: Sesame crusted tuna, scallops, walleye (each fish was cooked perfectly), all accompanied by a great side salad and veggies. Top notch. Also, very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning soon!!"

  • "We always look forward to the exceptional menu, such as the walleye that we haven't had in a long time. The dessert, as always, was delightful and beautifully presented. Our server was kind and attentive to our celebrating our 56th anniversary. We will certainly be back as soon as we can schedule another trip to Little Rock."

  • "Outside dining was great. This really is best filet mignon in town. The fish is always on par."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "The most consistent restaurant in Little Rock in regards to service, food quality, and value!"
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "We had an oustanding experience. The outdoor dining was perfect - clear skies and perfect temp with a breeze and no humidity. Sashimi grade tuna cooked to perfection - crisp on the outside and rare on the inside! Great waiter - not intrusive at all, but always seemed to appear with extra bread or water refill or to whisk away your empty plate at the right time. Could not have had a better experience!"

  • "Can be difficult to find but worth it!! Delicious food!!"
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "You have to try the heirloom tomatoes, and the smoked fish. Both are outstanding!!! Brave is one of the best in Little Rock, and certainly has the most scenic location of any little rock restaurant. Dine outside with a beautiful view of the Arkansas river. Delicious food, unusual food, beautiful view!! Try it!"

  • "Good food. Great taste. Pretty informal, in spite of the sophisticated fame it takes, which makes it nicer. Limited wine list."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "I will start by saying that this is not my normal form of eatery so I don't have many experiences to compair against. With that said the food was prepared and presented very well. The staff were professional and friendly and didn't hover, though if they had been more attentive to the couple next to us it would have made our evening more enjoyable. As we were there for a special occasion I was hoping for a nice view - we were stuck in a back corner with no view. We were also surrounded by obnoxious patrons using inappropriate language, which further detracted from the evening. Though the food was well prepared, I was paying for the experience and it was far lacking. I'm not going to attempt to turn anyone away, but I've had my fill."

  • "Visiting LR from Dallas, & chose this restaurant based on favorable reviews from Trip Advisor plus local confirmation. Tough to find location in business park on river. Chose to wait in bar for outdoor table & glad we did so. Views were terrific. Food was wonderful, service attentive without overbearing & wine list strong. Happy we went & would be delighted to return. "

  • "We'd been for dinner, previously, which was lovely, but rather expensive. Lunch was VERY affordable and delicious. A great option to keep in mind! I loved the grilled cheese with shrimp and bacon."

  • "Went for our 5yr anniversary and was a bit disappointed. "
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "On arrival we were told that there was no seating available outside. instead we were seated at a table with no view while diners who came in after us with no reservations were seated with an outdoor view or even outside. We'll think twice before going back. Too many good restaurants in LR that give priority to reservations. Formerly one of our favorites."

  • "Pricey (relatively), but worth it. Our table had the mushroom tart for appetizer, and it was lovely. Entrees of walleye, scallop, and duck were excellent - polished off with cheesecake (nothing too special, but after the meal I didn't care!) Would recommend for date nights, anniversary dinner, etc."

  • "We had a wonderful time. Our waiter was very energetic and we loved him. He fit in with our group of ladies from work. We will return in the near future. The food was fabulous... Thanks for a great time."

  • "I am so glad I chose Brave New for my only evening in Little Rock. Everything was just as it should have been. Great service and great food. The 5 onion soup to start was everything I could have hoped for. A sea scallops special was so perfectly flavored and fresh. Then the chocolate crime brûlée was to die for. Bread (sour dough that evening) was freshly baked and hot. Yum. I loved it as did my dinner guest who had nut encrusted salmon and bragged about it all evening. Even the sides (carrots and a squash/zucchini mix) were special. The experience was just what Little Rock's finest restaurant should offer. Can't wait to return. "

  • "Very nice dinner. Enjoyed the food and the ambiance."

  • "Brave New is always my "I want a great meal" place. Lunch on Tuesday was no exception. It was simple: quiche of the day and a house salad but the house salad was outstanding: fresh, wonderful and flavorful and the quiche great. My friend had the Walleye. I grew up on the Great Lakes and love Walleye - Peter's is outstanding. The price isn't cheap, but it's not expensive either. Its a great value for great quality food and good service. "

  • "I heard rave reviews about Brave New Restaurant so our family decided to try it when celebrating a special event. It was good, no doubt about that, but I'm not sure if the ratings I heard about it had set me up for expectations that were too high, or if it was just simply a "good" restaurant and nothing more. The duck was rather chewy. My son ordered it, as he will ALWAYS order duck when he finds it on any menu - and he was just kind of "underwhelmed" with it, the strawberry shortcake was too dry (but the cream and sauce were fantastic), the squash on my plate with the fish was not seasoned (needed salt), and overall it was all just "okay". I tried a bit of quail from the person who sat next to me and I must say that was delicious! "

  • "Brave New is a very special place indeed. A culinary feast can be expected on every visit and they rarely disappoint. Our most recent visit on 4/30/14 was no exception. The best in Little Rock for years remains at the top of most any list but ours for certain."

  • "We sat on the patio with a great view of the river and downtown lights. I was very relaxing evening. The service was very good. My wife's salmon (lightly pine nut encrusted) was the best she's ever had. She ate the WHOLE filet, which is rare for her (she weighs 105lbs). I had a very nice piece of walleye. Although the restrooms were clean, they were public, which I typically don't like."

  • "Brave New is not a trendy hot spot. But the food is high quality and dependable. The interior is stark, but the riverside deck has terrific views and heaters to keep you warm. Brave News strengths are their fish and their game dishes. Many of the appetizers are delicious, including the baked goat cheese, the mushroom tart, and the avocado half filled with shrimp. The dessert list is very limited with the occasional dessert special. The wine list is not adventurous, but there are some decent by the glass options."

  • "Consistently outstanding food, service and ambiance made anniversary dinner wonderful. Thanks again, Peter Brave!"

  • "The food was boring and cold. All meals came withe same potato and vegetable. Those who had the salads said they were good. Definitely would not go again. "

  • "The restaurant had a very comfortable atmosphere and an attractive outdoor dining space, weather permitting. The fish was delicious, as was the house salad. The staff were helpful and seemed happy to have us there."

  • "Would like to see an increase in options for your red wines by the glass, particularly your Cabs...... (- ;"

  • "We have not been to this restaurant in five years (moved elsewhere) so when visiting Little Rock again and had just one evening to go to one of our favorite restaurants, we chose Brave New. The food were excellent - I had the duck and the flavors were outstanding. Fabulous evening at a great restaurant!"

  • "If you are not familiar to the area - when you get to the location, you might not think a restaurant is located in the building - but it is there above the parking garage. The menu provides a nice mix of food choices at reasonable prices. The Mixed Grill entry is incredible. Wait staff provides good pairing advice. Chef Brave came out to ask what we thought of our meal - nice touch. You will enjoy the experience."

  • "The lobster salad is fabulous. And it's HUGE. The Creme Brulee is wonderful. It's a classy place. I would not take young children to eat there, though I'm sure the restaurant would be accommodating if you needed to bring kids."

  • "Had great dinner with 2 other couples. Excellent service and outstanding food. The steak and artichoke salad was well worth the price and very filling. Nice wine list."

  • "This was the second time I in the past few months I have taken guests - once from Boston and once from Baltimore. Both groups raved about it. Even more impressively, most of the people ordered fish ( trout, pike, and tuna) and these sea coast dwellers loved their meals."

  • "This is a hidden gem. Waiter was excellent. Great food, Best grouper I have ever had and I used to live in Key Largo!! What a great suprise."

  • "I took my visiting parents there and I was very impressed by the capable waiter and the menu. The food was expertly prepared and plated. Peter Brave(the owner) came by to see how the meal was which I found to be charming. The mixed grill entree is so good you cant imagine, put this one on your bucet list!!!"
