Diner Reviews
  • "Everything was stellar as always. Mark (26 years at Bones) our waiter was as terrific as last time."

  • "Bones has some of the best steaks in the country. Meal was fantastic. Had the ribeye for two; cooked to perfection (med rare) with spinich & mushrooms. We also had a nice bottle of wine. Bones over-prices their wines a bit, but their selection is excellent. On the table . . . we were seated at what has to be the very worst table in the entire restaurant. The table is located at the bottom of the stairs. The placement of the table is unfortunate; everyone that passes bumps your chair; extremely annoying due to amount of traffic. It is the age old comedic table placed right at the edge of a swinging kitchen door. Why they seated us at this table is a mystery. The place was empty when we arrived, and we had a reservations. Avoid that table!"

  • "I go to Bone's for two reasons. For one, the service and personal attention are always first-rate, with professional hosts and waiters who really know what they're doing. Second, of course, is the food, particularly the steaks. As good as some items on the menu sound, I figure it's best to dance with the one who brought me, i.e., go with their well-known specialty, cow. This time, I got the ribeye, albeit not the super-aged one. Frankly, I was disappointed. In a word, it was ordinary, with a surprising amount of fat."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at Bones. The bartender at the bar recommended a very nice wine for dinner from a huge selection of wines they stock. We had a very nice table in the back room and our server Jason took care of our every need. The filets were cooked perfectly and the hash browns are to die for. I have eaten here a number of times with customers but never with my wife. We both enjoyed the dinner and will be back in the near future."

  • "Our initial waiter, who I believe was a rookie, sucked. Ken, who's been there well over a decade if not two, saved us. If not for him and the rest of of his team, our night would have really sucked bad."

  • "Great place to celebrate a special occasion, food, staff, and wine."

  • "A steak house like it used to be, and like it should be. I tried the mixed grill. It was all very good, but the lamb chops were amazing!"

  • "A real Steak House that treats all guests with too notch service, sublime cuts of meat and just the right amount if attention without being obtrusive. Should be on everyone's list while in Atlanta."

  • "Celebrated a birthday here and they had the table decorated for us. So thoughtful and unexpected!"

  • "Bones is the restaurant to visit on those special occasions that call for extra fine dining. The presentation always meets the highest expectations."

  • "Meal: Onion soup, Caesar salad with anchovies (of course), bone-in, aged ribeye, lamb, and mushrooms. Bones is definitely, one of the best steak houses in Atlanta - it's an understatement that service is as much of a priority as the food itself. Aside from a few off-color jokes for a group of inebriated businessmen, the team that covered our table was on point; beverages always full, table routinely cleaned of crumbs and scraps, and pleasantries to boot. Bar area seemed like a perfect spot for a single cocktail and meal. Host was gracious and appreciative of our visit. Never say "well-done" in a steak house, so I'll substitute, "Superb!!""

  • "After years of building up a small business, there was no other real option for a Classic Steakhouse Celebration after a big win. Top notch everything and impeccable service. Clubby and comfortable, like visiting an old friend after years away, I see us returning after each and every major victory."

  • "My husband and I decided that we would try this restaurant while in Atlanta celebrating our anniversary. We were not disappointed. It's a bit pricey but I would certainly go again because of the quality of the steak and the superb service. It really did make for a very special celebration."

  • "A fabulous birthday made even more fab by Bone's top notch service and attention to detail. From the birthday confetti on the table to greeting us by name to a wonderful dessert. The lobster bisque is truly the best I have ever had. Not one bad thing to say about this amazing restaurant or meal."

  • "We planned a celebration for our daughter's 18th birthday at Bones. My uncle recommended calling ahead to tell them we were celebrating a birthday, which we did. They really made her feel very special, greeting her and congratulating her on her birthday. They put confetti on the table and after dinner even brought her a slice of ice cream cake. Overall, the service was excellent and of course the food was incredible. I spent most of the evening just watching our daughter savor the best steak she had ever eaten (and probably one of the best she will ever eat). It will certainly be a birthday celebration she will always remember."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. Their attention to detail was INCREDIBLE! This will definitely go down as "memorable". :)"

  • "All of the food came so close to being stellar if only it hadn't been over salted. Every single course - mine and my husband's - was over salted. Even their famous lobster bisque could have been the best soup I'd ever had. The flavor was there, but so was the salt. Service was stellar."

  • "We had a small private function and everything was perfect!"

  • "Great place. The ste k wasn't good at all. I had to pour a lot of salt on to the steak and it didn't get better at all. My wife said her food was just ok. I have eaten in places like this be for and never had such bad food."

  • "The food was excellent, the service was very good with the wait staff being very respectful of all dinners and made sure they addressed us the entire evening by name. I had the 8oz filet and it would melt in your mouth while my spouse had the crab stuffed trout. The portion size was perfect and the side we ordered were extremely well prepared. I would recommend this restaurant for that special occasion dining."

  • "I love this place. The food was wonderful and there were 0 kids. The place was filled full of people that knew how to fine dine. The service was stupendous. Even when our waiter got stuck on a large group table that kept asking him what the " fancy" words mean on the menu, a secondary waiter noted the same issue and flawlessly continued our service. We go frequently."

  • "Wait staff was great couldn't find a place in the bar to wait for my guest. They reserve the seats at the bar for people to eat doin was told I couldn't sit there."

  • "Prior to dining at Bones, I researched the restaurant and read the reviews which were very favorable. Having visited the restaurant, I would like to add my praise regarding service, friendliness, hospitality, quality of food, and atmosphere. The restaurant is awesome and the food is wonderful. Really enjoyed the bone in filet, spinach salad, and complimentary ice cream cake dessert. The staff at Bones' added to my daughter's 30 birthday dinner without singing. Thank you, Will definitely return to this restaurant. In my opinion, this service and adherence to detail provided by Bones is a throw back to an earlier time when folks took the time to do things right."

  • "There are many very good restaurants in Atlanta but there is only one Bone's. It's pretty obvious after a visit why they have gained the reputation that they have. Yes it is expensive but you never feel like you've been had. This is one restaurant where you can safely take a guest and know you won't be disappointed."

  • "We went to celebrate our anniversary, and my girlfriend was blown away by the atmosphere and incredible service. The steaks are excellent, try the dry aged ribeye. Hash browns are incredible. This will be our goto spot from now on."

  • "Which is a good thing. Not many steak restaurants in the U.S. beat Bones. There are probably a few just as good, at least on occasion, though its hard to say which they are: Ruth's Chris in Pasadena on certain nites, Bob's Chop House in Nashville, possibly. And I'm sure there must be others, though it seems hard to find any that do all that Bone's does as well: great atmosphere, consistently good cuts of beef cooked close to perfection, great wine list, knowledgeable attentive staff, and an interesting dessert list. Maybe the sides could be a little more interesting, but no real complaint there. Still the same is a great thing when it comes to Bones."

  • "Bones, year after year, is our "go to" place for celebrating special occasions. Every time we toss around the idea of another restaurant, we always land back with Bones. The food and service never disappoint."

  • "Best steak andI scallops. I have ever experienced!"

  • "Bones was a gift from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff made us feel elite and welcome, and the food....oh the food. Our table had the lobster and filet and both were absolutely perfect. We chose grit fritters and Mac and cheese as our sides. The grit fritters were amazing. We weren't crazy about the Mac and cheese, but I think it was just a personal preference deal, as we couldn't pinpoint why we didn't like it, we just didn't. We got three different desserts to share among us and each was perfect in it's own way. While the prices are very steep, it was worth every penny and is the perfect location for a special occasion."
