  • "We had eaten at Bliss two other times and the food was very good. This time the oyster sliders were not very good, and the oysters were very small. The scallops were OK and the red snapper very dry and overcooked. The noise level from one table was overbearing and we asked the manager to ask them to calm down, but she said they were only enjoying themselves. So much for a $150.00 evening. We will not go back."

  • "One of the best meals I have had in a while. I ordered the Maine Scallops which were perfectly cooked and amazingly seasoned. My wife ordered the Tenderloin which puts any steakhouse to shame. Better than Morton's, Ruth's Chris and Fleming's... Might even have edged out Myron's. Will definitely be back!"

  • "I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and its so nice to be recognized by name. This was the 1st time for my friends I always love what I call the 1st bite moment. The moment when persons who have never experienced Bliss take that 1st bite and stare ...at each other and realize this is a different restaurant experience and the statement right after the stare "Gilbert this is a great place." The restaurant environment has changed in the last 5 years in San Antonio to the delight of foodies, there are many restaurants and competition for fine cuisine has stepped but Bliss is a true gem. If you have never been to Bliss be good to yourself and take some time to visit this restaurant and experience food Bliss"

It was, perhaps, a tad less impressive than having been at the Chef's table; but, our group enjoyed the food and the ambience."

  • "After reading reviews, I really thought this place would be a lot better. It was rated one of the most romantic places to eat in San Antonio, but when we were seated for our 8:45 p reservation for our 2-year anniversary, it was extremely noisy. My wife and I had to talk above a normal voice in order to be heard. She ordered the tenderloin and I ordered the Australian lamb. Both were cooked perfectly, but the lamb didn't taste any different than ribs. I don't eat that cut of meat often, so I don't know if that is how it's supposed to taste, but I didn't feel it was anything special or worth the price. The tenderloin was thick and very tender. The waiter was very nice and attentive, and the hostess was great as well, seating us immediately."

  • "Bliss is amazing. You feel like you've stepped into another city when you dine at Bliss. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and seated promptly. Our water glasses were filled upon arrival and help with the wine selection from the server. We started with the watermelon salad, very refreshing. Our food took a bit to come out but we were in no rush, we enjoyed sitting out on the patio while waiting. When our food did come the presentation was amazing m I had the red snapper with shirmp risotto, delicious. My husband had the vegan stir fry. We finished with a key lime and pecan pie which was exceptional. I really enjoyed the portion size they were not overwhelming big. Overall great place."

The menu changes, so the possibilities are endless. We had the chance to meet the Chef and owner who was personally overseeing that everything was perfect."

  • "Great restaurant. Biggest problem we had was deciding which entree to eat. Everything on the menu as well as on other tables looked delicious. We ate the sea scallops and they were a perfect medium rare with a nice sear on outside. Good wine selection too. Felt a little bit rushed by the waiter at first but we slowed him down and his overall attention to our needs was good. Not your average congested downtown location. Ample parking outside. The hostess was very pleasant and we were greeted by an owner at our table shortly after our meal. Highly recommend!"

The service....unbelievably great! We were hosted on a little tour of the place and that just added that little spark that makes you feel special. A must go if your in San Antonio."

  • "This was our first time to Bliss and enjoyed it very much and will plan on coming back for the Branzino. It was served whole with Meditteranean finishes and was excellent. My husband tried my dish and agreed that it was far better than his duck dish. The bread was excellent, crusty, hot and whole grain which I appreciated. Our waiter was good but not great, however it's a college town so need to take that into consideration. The greeting however when we arrived to the restaurant was excellent. The restauarant is quite loud so wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner or taking someone that is hard of hearing. Wine list was ok and was disappointed that a full bar was not offered. My rating is in consideration of these comments."

  • "We don't get to San Antonio as much as we would like - but this restaurant will make us come to town more often! Everything about our evening was 5 star - great food, great service and a well designed interior made everything come together perfect. I had the watermelon salad and my wife had the watermelon soup to start - incredibly refreshing after a hot Texas day. We followed up with the Red Snapper/Shrimp Risotto and the Filet with a perfect red wine demi glace. We ordered 3 desserts to try out as much as possible and did our best to finish them off. A great evening - can't wait to come back to town. This is a must try restaurant - I wish they were in Dallas!"

  • "We were in from out of town and we found Bliss in a San Antonio best of listing... and they weren't lying. The food was excellent, creative, and beautifully presented. The sauces were extremely flavorful. The service was the best we've had in a long time - very attentive and helpful while not hovering. The watermelon salad was killer!"

  • "I have only been in San Antonio for a short time. I am from New Orleans and love great restaurants. Took my daughter who recently graduated from college to Bliss based on recommendations from local friends. It was "all that". Food, service, atmosphere - everything was very impressive. Oyster slidesrs belong in the oyster appetizer hall of fame. Perfectly crispy fried oyster on a biscuit so moist it defies description, with special sauce and wilted greens. The main courses were up to the task of following and exceeding the expectations set by such a wonderful start. Attentive and knowledgable staff. A great experience."

  • "The meal was amazing. Beautiful presentation, then I took a bite. Every vegetable cooked perfectly. I slowed down and enjoyed every bite, the lamb, potato purée, carrots, parsnips, blackberries. I did not want it to end. The Chef, whom I had the honor of thanking, was a genuinely nice person. Wonderful meal to celebrate my daughter's graduation. I hope to make it back there some day."

This visit, I discovered the 10-person chef's table in the open kitchen, which can be reserved for a prix fixe meal. Good to know. What a beautiful campus, with such attention to detail. Really shows the vision of Chef Bliss - the aesthetics matter as much as the food, and you can tell he has paid attention to both!"

  • "The single drawback, and it was significant as it will prevent us from returning, was the noise. What passes as 'music' to some was irritating and distracting. Despite repeated requests and complaints, nothing was done about it. We shall return for the food and wine only when that noise is removed."

The halibut proved to be a very good choice for my wife's entree. For the finale, the key lime pie was tasty and had a great meringue topping."

  • "We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday dinner here and overall, the food, the service and the ambiance was perfect. I believe we sat in the main dining room area which was uncomfortably warm. When we mentioned it to our server, and even though she was attentive in all other areas, she said there was nothing they could do about it. My wife and I were disappointed but didn't let it ruin our date. Better luck next time, perhaps at a different venue."
