  • "Bliss is one of my wife and I's favorite San Antonio restaurants. The vibe is always great, and the food has been consistently innovative and amazing at the same time. I am prompted to write this review however to recognize their service. For the first time in probably five trips, we had to wait an additional 15 or so minutes past our scheduled reservation. No less than 4 people - from hostess to manager - came by our table and apologized. Also, the mgr comped us two of their best apps: the oyster sliders and the pork belly. Comps are not necessary; simply having people recognize the slight wait was enough. SA has a lot of cool new spaces and great food, but service has not kept up. Thank you Bliss for remembering service comes 1st!"

  • "Having lived overseas and had the fortune to experience some Michelin star restaurants, it's plain to see that the chef and staff are dedicated to bringing that level of excellence to SA. My wife and I were very impressed with the ambience that was high end without being snooty. And the food was fantastic. I believe the "pork & beans" was some of tastiest and well prepared meat I have ever had..."

  • "Dropped onto Bliss after movie. We were dressed very casually, but did not matter. We fit right in with the other patrons. Ordered the oyster sliders and were very pleased. My wife had the red fish. It was fantastic. Fish had a great flavor and the kale was incredible. I had the veggie dish and was not dissappointed. Good, but not great wine list."

  • "Meal: Oyster Sliders, Charcuterie board (Prosciutto, Chorizo, 3 cheeses, honey, peppers and mustard), Lamb, Scallops, and Snapper. Though the entrees were fine, the real winners were the starters - do not miss out on the sliders - unique, delectable, delightful, and unforgettable. Honestly, I would have a meal of those (4 to a plate). We had the entry level Zinfandel, which was also excellent. This place gets bonus points for the attention the staff gave to our three person party. You could tell there was genuine love and caring in what they were doing, and it showed in the service received. The sides were notably poor (congealed, oversalted...) - likely left in the window while the mains were finishing - prep/expeditor error."

  • "What a fabulous place! Excellent service. Wonderful charcuterie offerings. Fun wine list. The oyster sliders are a must. Pork belly was divine. Would fly back to San Antonio just for the scallops. The redfish & shrimp risotto were amazing too. Only wish I lived closer, so I could go more. Was too full for dessert, but they looked great too! We sat outside and loved it, but inside had a cool vibe too!"

  • "I wanted to surprise my wife with a romantic dinner to celebrate our last weekend in San Antonio as we are moving out of state. From the reservations, to the help from the staff to make the surprise a success and the wonderful cuisine, it was awesome. The apps were awesome, the oyster sliders and the beef tartar and the scallops and lamb for entrees were phenomenal!!! It was an oddly cool night for San Antonio but we were inside and walked around when we were done and noticed the areas outside to eat. Either way anyone will be very pleased eating there!!"

Menu had changed slightly from the time I viewed the menu on line, but it was no problem for Marcie And Chef /Owner Mr. Bliss made us a special order. You won't find a better restaurant with this type off class, ambiance, detail to service and quality."

Better than Morton's, Ruth's Chris and Fleming's... Might even have edged out Myron's. Will definitely be back!"

  • "I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and its so nice to be recognized by name. This was the 1st time for my friends I always love what I call the 1st bite moment. The moment when persons who have never experienced Bliss take that 1st bite and stare ...at each other and realize this is a different restaurant experience and the statement right after the stare "Gilbert this is a great place." The restaurant environment has changed in the last 5 years in San Antonio to the delight of foodies, there are many restaurants and competition for fine cuisine has stepped but Bliss is a true gem. If you have never been to Bliss be good to yourself and take some time to visit this restaurant and experience food Bliss"

  • "After reading reviews, I really thought this place would be a lot better. It was rated one of the most romantic places to eat in San Antonio, but when we were seated for our 8:45 p reservation for our 2-year anniversary, it was extremely noisy. My wife and I had to talk above a normal voice in order to be heard. She ordered the tenderloin and I ordered the Australian lamb. Both were cooked perfectly, but the lamb didn't taste any different than ribs. I don't eat that cut of meat often, so I don't know if that is how it's supposed to taste, but I didn't feel it was anything special or worth the price. The tenderloin was thick and very tender. The waiter was very nice and attentive, and the hostess was great as well, seating us immediately."

  • "Bliss is amazing. You feel like you've stepped into another city when you dine at Bliss. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and seated promptly. Our water glasses were filled upon arrival and help with the wine selection from the server. We started with the watermelon salad, very refreshing. Our food took a bit to come out but we were in no rush, we enjoyed sitting out on the patio while waiting. When our food did come the presentation was amazing m I had the red snapper with shirmp risotto, delicious. My husband had the vegan stir fry. We finished with a key lime and pecan pie which was exceptional. I really enjoyed the portion size they were not overwhelming big. Overall great place."

  • "Great restaurant. Biggest problem we had was deciding which entree to eat. Everything on the menu as well as on other tables looked delicious. We ate the sea scallops and they were a perfect medium rare with a nice sear on outside. Good wine selection too. Felt a little bit rushed by the waiter at first but we slowed him down and his overall attention to our needs was good. Not your average congested downtown location. Ample parking outside. The hostess was very pleasant and we were greeted by an owner at our table shortly after our meal. Highly recommend!"

The service....unbelievably great! We were hosted on a little tour of the place and that just added that little spark that makes you feel special. A must go if your in San Antonio."

  • "This was our first time to Bliss and enjoyed it very much and will plan on coming back for the Branzino. It was served whole with Meditteranean finishes and was excellent. My husband tried my dish and agreed that it was far better than his duck dish. The bread was excellent, crusty, hot and whole grain which I appreciated. Our waiter was good but not great, however it's a college town so need to take that into consideration. The greeting however when we arrived to the restaurant was excellent. The restauarant is quite loud so wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner or taking someone that is hard of hearing. Wine list was ok and was disappointed that a full bar was not offered. My rating is in consideration of these comments."

  • "We don't get to San Antonio as much as we would like - but this restaurant will make us come to town more often! Everything about our evening was 5 star - great food, great service and a well designed interior made everything come together perfect. I had the watermelon salad and my wife had the watermelon soup to start - incredibly refreshing after a hot Texas day. We followed up with the Red Snapper/Shrimp Risotto and the Filet with a perfect red wine demi glace. We ordered 3 desserts to try out as much as possible and did our best to finish them off. A great evening - can't wait to come back to town. This is a must try restaurant - I wish they were in Dallas!"

  • "I have only been in San Antonio for a short time. I am from New Orleans and love great restaurants. Took my daughter who recently graduated from college to Bliss based on recommendations from local friends. It was "all that". Food, service, atmosphere - everything was very impressive. Oyster slidesrs belong in the oyster appetizer hall of fame. Perfectly crispy fried oyster on a biscuit so moist it defies description, with special sauce and wilted greens. The main courses were up to the task of following and exceeding the expectations set by such a wonderful start. Attentive and knowledgable staff. A great experience."
