As we endeavor to use only local and fresh ingredients, we do not allow any outside food in the restaurant. Should you require anything above and beyond what is on our menu, including cakes, please feel free to contact us directly.

  • "I've been to Blink several times and have always really really enjoyed my meal. This time I ordered the beef short ribs, which were quite dry. With little sauce on the plate there wasn't much flavour. I wouldn't ordered this dish again but I'll still be back to Blink. The service was great, as usual and I love the atmosphere there for dinner with friends or lunch with a client. "

  • "Sooooo good. Took my boyfriend for his 28th birthday and he loved it. Which is the main thing. I thought it was very good too :-) Food and service were both great and I would definitely go again. My one complaint which is really minor, is that I found it to be a little dark in there for reading the menus. It would be better if the dimmer was on just a little more."

  • "My husband and I had a lovely dinner before going to a Decidedly Jazz Dance performance in the Grand Theatre. Our waiter was particularly conscious of our time issue and provided us service that was timely yet not rushed. The food was as good as ever; we especially enjoyed our shared appetizer of scallops and pork belly with fresh peas."

  • "A group of 9 from work came for lunch. We had a variety of dishes including gnocchi, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, steak, quiche with salad, vegetarian plate and tuna. Everyone enjoyed his or her meal. The shepherd's pie smooth potato puree on top and ground beef below with excellent flavour. I want to go back and try the macaroni and cheese. I also had a great pina colada."

  • "This is a return trip for us, for dinner - we have had lunch here before. I love the service and relaxed atmosphere. The decor fits well with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive. The pork belly and scallops appy was very tasty, all dressed up with micro greens. The fish appy was also excellent. The starter menu included many other items that I would love try, without being overwhelming. A great, varied selection. We chose wines by the glass and there was a great selection. In addition, there are half bottles and full bottles on their extensive wine list. Main course was the steelhead with seasonal veges and the steak. Both were excellent. Other dishes include halibut, duck, lamb and risotto"

  • "We had read many great reviews about this restaurant. My wife ordered scallops as an appetizer, and striped bass and Sable fish for entrees. Finished with chocolate cake and 3 ice creams for dessert. The food was good, but for all the rave reviews I was a little disappointed by my striped bass. I would say that the service and experience definitely needs improvement. We had an older gentleman serving us, an he seemed to be completely ambivalent towards our dining experience. The restaurant was also very cold to the point that my wife had to get her coat. Overall, food is fairly average for a higher end restaurant but the service was definitely below average."

The food was excellent and pricy, the owner was very helpful in suggesting a wine, which was perfect for out meal unfortunately our server was not very helpful and pretty much ignored us which was a real shame as it spoiled our experience. I'm sure they're plenty if high end dinning that because if him we wil not return."

  • "Was a last minute decision to visit this restaurant for a special occasion, turned out to be the right one! Good selection for wines by the glass and appetizers were a great start. Was happy with the portion sizes of the main and that Blink is still a great a la carte restaurant as compared to those who have started to focus their energies more onto tasting menus. We had the duck and the trout, which were both excellent, great though of flavours in these dishes. Was a little to stuffed for desert, but will definitely be returning!"

  • "We had an outstanding dining experience! Our food was excellent - well-prepared, beautifully presented and very, very tasty. Among the four of us, we had starters, mains and dessert - all great. Our mains were particularly yummy with unique combinations of fresh, mostly local ingredients. The sommelier was charming and made an excellent recommendation. All in all, one of the best dining experiences we've had in Calgary in a long time."

  • "Presentation of the food was beautiful, but portions were too small. The beet salad and BBQ squid sald were good, but again, portions were too small. I had the tuna, which was different, but good. My husband had the beef ribs and they were dry. We both agreed mine was a lot better. There was no quality check with our appetizers. The waitress look rushed."

  • "I went to Blink on March 22nd for an early evening dinner. I felt lucky to get a table because the place always seems to be booked up. I really like the decor and the ambiance. It's a romantic place for sure. I do have one issue - my food and my girl's food was only luke warm. The place wasn't that busy, in that only about 50% of the tables were full. The taste was good ( I had the pasta dish), but it was luke warm when it came out of the kitchen, and cold by the time I finished. The serving staff was good and friendly. Overall I would rate this restaurant as good."

  • "My dinner partner and I enjoyed the relaxed feel of this place. I enjoyed the acknowledgement and gracious welcome we received from both the owner and our server, although we have only been there less than half a dozen times. We intend to return. Both our dishes were magnificently prepared with all the flavours coming through. It would be helpful to heat up the dishes for the main course so as to preserve the flavours at just the right temperature. Service was well-timed and friendly. BLINK is great culinary gem in a city that needs more of such."

  • "Excellent cocktails, wine list, and ambiance. The appetizer scallops were cooked to perfection. Perfectly balance with butter and sweetness. However, the main dishes were very underwhelming. I had the steelhead trout - which was one dimensional in terms of texture, and taste - all too soft and too sweet. The fish was also overcooked and was covered in albumin. My date had the one year aged risotto which did not have enough parmesan and lacked acidity. I would not recommend these two dishes. Our waitress asked our thoughts on the food before we even took a bite."

  • "We dined at this restaurant during the week of taste of Calgary 2014.four of us.when we arrived we received such good service till all four of us were seated at the table as the other had to look for parking.josh was so helpful in finding the sweet wine we like...out waiter was josh but the other girl kept checking on us.food from entree to dessert was superb..delicious I must say.ambience was just good and I felt good about the spot..I would def be making a come back to try the other food on their menu."

Some of the food on the menu wasn't bad, some was not special in anyway and the cheesecake had a crust so hard and chewy that it couldn't even be broken with a spoon. Also the service was really poor. The server we had seemed like he was in a bad mood and didn't care. Just dropped things off reaching across the table while we were talking and didn't bother going around or anything and it seems like he didn't care to really be there."

  • "Went here for dinner during yyc big taste. There was two of us. The first course we got the soufflé and the mushroom soup. The soufflé was pretty good, but the soup was excellent. Second course we got the arctic char w/risotto, and the ricotta gnocci. The Actric char was cooked well, but tasted a little too "fishy" for my liking. The risotto was excellent however. The gnocci we found pretty bland, and flat. For dessert we got the cake which was really good, and the chocolate tart which was small but also very good. Overall a good meal. I will come back and try their regular menu."

  • "Recently moved to Calgary and haven't fancied the food yet (wasn't a fan of Catch, Blink, Una). The mushroom soup appetizer was the best part of the meal and was one of the best soups I've ever tasted. Dessert was tasty as well. Unfortunately, the steak main course didn't catch my fancy. It came already cut into pieces and in an Asian sauce and it was okay. I did try the risotto and gnocchi that friends ordered and enjoyed them both. Good service and atmosphere, but not the burst of complex flavours I enjoy."

  • "We came here for the Big Taste YYC set menu and had a late reservation of 9:00pm as we had been helping my brother move house that evening. My husband and I were on time however my brother and his fiance got caught up, had a terrible time finding parking and didnt arrive until close to 9:45pm. The hostesses and waiter were incredibly patient and I appreciated not being hurried with our dinner despite our tardiness at begining our meal. The food was incredible - perfectly cooked cheese souffle, crispy skinned and tender arctic char and beautiful desserts. Thanks for a great meal"

  • "Second time at Blink, went specifically to take advantage of the Big Taste lunch menu, and we were left inspired by the quality of food. The plating of the beet salad was beautiful, and was such a fresh and unique take on a plate that is often used to slap together some vegetables. The arctic char was wonderfully crispy and served on a savoury, enjoy every spoonful risotto. Finally, the dessert was a intensely sweet chocolate terrine that was perfect for my sweet tooth. Food like that inspires one to cook new and better things. Service was prompt, attentive and very professional. Ambiance was perfect. Will always keep coming back for more!"

  • "I went to Blink last year for big taste Calgary and it was so amazing that I wanted to go this year again, it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. Our waitress was a bit rude and didn't seem too welcoming. She asked us what we wanted to order and turned around and left. When she was setting the table, it was rather loud and whatever, not the etiquette I would expect a fine dinning restaurant to have, we really didn't think the service deserves a 15% tip. We ordered the braised short rib and the fish, the short rib was a little over cooked which made it dry and the risotto on the fish was bland. So overall dining was jus so so. Blink used to be one of my favorite restaurants and I really hope their quality and service will improve."

  • "I went to Blink for the first time when BigTasteYYC was on. I enjoyed my meal, and look forward to going to Blink again to try some different dishes.The ambiance of this restaurant is very nice. I had the Mushroom Soup to start, and it was lovely, not too creamy, and quite a strong mushroom flavor which I love. For my main I had the Arctic Char with Risotto. The fish had a lovely taste. The risotto was good, but fairly bland, it could have used a little more flavor, not my favorite part of the dish. Dessert was the sticky toffee pudding. It had a very strong molasses flavor. It reminded me more of a gingerbread cake, so I would change the name of that. It was very nice, but I was too full to finish. We also had severely overpriced coffee."

  • "Overall the food was very good. The service was not the best because the servers were running around the restaurant because it was very busy. The waitress was rude and didn t care for her job at all. I find it very rude when you pay and the server immediately look to see if you gave a good tip and if he is not happy he gives you the look that tells you he is not happy. Yes it did happen and the reason I didn t give a good tip was because she was never with us talking she was just asking for the orders and left, the other server served us. I did find it very rude when she gave me the ugly stare and didn t even talk to us after. Anyway, sorry im venting !, the service was not great but the food was average."

  • "We had a fish dish and a beef dish, the fish was undercooked and the beef overcooked, it was very disappointed. At the dessert time, the waiter did not even ask if we would like to have coffee or tea, it seems that they want us to leave so that they can offer the table to another customer. I don't remember when we had such a bad dinner experience with a good restaurant."

  • "We came for the BIG TASTE and the four of us found our main dishes to be utterly disappointing. The gnocchi was sweet and didn't have much taste, the short ribs tasted off, and the risotto for the fish was too tart. Not imprssed at all. I've wanted to come here for so long and finally came for my birthday only to be really disappointed. Not only were we not satisfied, we left paying $250 and still feeling hungry. I will not be returning."
