Fabulous gourmet restaurant in COMOThe service was outstanding, our waitress was able to make recommendations and explain the dishes to us. The French wine I had was excellent. The charcuterie was delicious as were the entrees. The new facility is spacious and can accommodate large parties now. They still have intimate booths for romantic evenings as well. We came here for my graduation celebration and I couldn't have been more pleased with everything.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday/Graduation LunchWe dined at Bleu during MU's graduation weekend, the service was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. We were a little disappointed to discover that the menu choices were limited due to the volume of graduation reservations. The waiter also promptly reminded us, "no substitutions". The other thing that surprised us was the $1.00 per person portage fee for the birthday cake we brought with us; that was a first, but they did furnish the candles.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DateMy husband and I went to Bleu for an early Mother's Day date night. The restaurant maintained a great balance of fine dining ambiance, but with some very reasonably priced items on their menu. The service was friendly and efficient. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, and he made lots of positive comments about the flavor and fair portioning of the food. I ordered a steak salad, which was artistically plated with pineapple, coconut, and a sweet vinaigrette. We ordered the rhubarb mousse with strawberries, which was light and delicious. The staff are courteous and professional. They are able to accommodate a wide variety of needs, from private work groups to a vibrant happy-hour bar scene and great food. Turns out they had changed their hours but the message didn't get through to Open Table. The restaurant opened for us and seated us at our scheduled time and served us and everything was wonderful. We were told the restaurant is also stopping it's Saturday brunch. They did have some brunch items when we were there which were delicious. The food is expertly prepared, appealing to foodies and those with simple tastes. We wanted to try several dishes and highly recommend what we had. Each dish a winner. Goat cheese cake, brussel sprouts with bacon, duck wontons, filet with coke sauce, ceviche (a special that night)....I am still thinking about this meal. Finished with the Bleu's version of apple pie, a kind of deconstructed apple pie with wonderful homemade cinnamon ice cream. Service was as wonderful as the meal.1/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
