"We hadn't been here in years. Surprised at the lively bar scene. Food was great and the service very good. Specials very good - I tried the tuna even though I am a meat eater in restaurants like this. Tables/banquettes are close, so it can be noisy."

"Dean, the host, starts the night off, greeting us with a warm friendly greeting! Julie, our waitress, only working at Big 4 for 1 week will be a great find by Big 4. She is terrific! Big 4 is a great place to celebrate a special occasion! One of the best dining experiences ever!"

"I have been there before, and expressly chose it for a Saturday night because it is one of the quietest restaurants we know of! Even at 8:00 p.m., you can still speak with your guest(s) - this is, frankly, very unusual. The food is good, not the best I've had but passable, and the service and ambiance was excellent."

"If you like really high-end food without paying a ruinous price this restaurant is for you. Plus the atmosphere is wonderful, sort of 'thirties old world. I must say the menu didn't inspire me very much when I first read it online, but when I tasted the food I forgot all about that! The Pan Seared Day Boat Scallop entree was fantastic, incredible range of flavors, every mouthful a distinct treat, like sipping vintage wine. Everything else we had was of a similar high standard. We will definitely be coming back."

"Good place for quiet business breakfast, not crowded. Plenty of privacy. We saw a few local execs doing their meetings over toast. Don't come here if you are looking for something airy and light. No windows and completely old school ambiance. Not just the decor, but also the clientele. Egg white frittata was excellent."

"The Big 4 is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere and has been for many years. My husband and I chose to go there recently for our wedding anniversary because it reliably pleasant and always a positive experience. It is old world charm and the martini is perfect. The booth seating is extremely comfortable (never any "sink holes"). Steaks are great, as are the salads and soup du jour choices."
