Barrel House offers a unique farm to table experience in downtown Sausalito which celebrates local seasonal ingredients and sustainability in a beautiful setting.

Barrel House focuses on letting the ingredients shine. To this end, Barrel House supports local farmers and organic practices due to their amazing quality as well as being harvested at their peak of ripeness.

Barrel House will feature barrel aged and classic cocktails. Its wine menu highlights west coast winemakers. Barrel House will have rotating local micro brews on tap as well as wines on tap. Additionally, we will be hand crafting our own sodas with ingredients that we source at the local farmers markets.

Barrel House features furniture and woodwork that was handcrafted using reclaimed black walnut and curly maple trees. Every seat in the Barrel House has sweeping views of the Bay and an outdoor deck that sits right over the water.

This restaurant had a view from almost every table! Some of the seating was a little cramped but otherwise comfortable. Our waitress was prompt and suggested some good wine. The food was delicious and worth the wait. All the flavors went well together and was just the right portion.

We've been here several times and loved it. Along with the spectacular view of the city (magical at night), the food is excellent. The main course menu is somewhat limited, but there's enough variety to suit everyone – from beef hounds to vegans and fish eaters. There looks to be an ample wine list, but preferring mixed drinks, I found the bartender an expert at mixing mean Manhattans. The deck perches for casual drop-ins put you right over the water – best before the fog blows in. A bit on the pricey side but worth it.

new ownership and complete renovation in the last couple of years, but I had never ventured in this busy, touristy part of Sausalito. I was definitely missing something. The renovation was outstanding, architecturally impressive with great design and choice of materials. Lunch menu had many interesting choices and some basic fare, something for everyone. The kale salad was excellent and my rib appetizer was a meal in itself which featured six small ribs in a candied glaze stacked on top of one another. Delicious and just enough. Service was excellent. I'll definitely be back.

I took my niece from CO here for a great view of the bay and requested seating near the window for the best experience for her when I made my reservation, but the hostess seated us in one of just a handful of tables NOT at the windows :/. I almost asked to be moved to one of the many open tables at the windows, but didn't want to make a scene so I just dealt with it. The decor is OUTSTANDING and the views AMAZING! The food was really good too. My niece got the steak and I got a salad, both very good. All and all, I would definitely go again, but would just reiterate when checking in that I would like to be seated at a window.

As an open table member my friend and I were seated immediately and at a wonderful view table as I requested in my open table reservation. Server brought some flat bread crackers and white bean humus which was delicious. I ordered the grilled peach-burratta salad which was a bit disappointing. Half the peaches were not ripe, just a few sprigs of arugula & splat of burrata on only one peach. However, swordfish was excellent as was salted caramel ice cream. Will definitely be back but order different starter. Service was outstanding.

I am a local and have dined at barrel house for lunch, dinner, brunch and enjoyed drinks after work. My most recent experience ended poorly. I brought a friend who was visiting from the mid west. We enjoyed a nice meal and then was asked if they could move us to the bar so that they could prepare the table for other patrons. I pointed to the empty table next to ours (it was about 9:45 on a Friday night so tables were clearing) we were told that they needed a 4 top. Of course we were flanked by empty tables. They offered to buy us drinks at the bar but still ll I did not appreciate being asked to get up from our table. Why is that ok and acceptable? I will think twice next time about dining there, view or no.

Very attractive restaurant with spectacular views in Sausalito. The food was good but not great. Nice piece of salmon well cooked. Hamburger was ok but nothing special, the bun was somewhat larger than necessary, the fries were good but not quite crisp enough, and the food was pricey for the quality. Service was very good, and nice spot to take out of towners for the view.

The good: great venue with deck seating on a sunny day. The service was smooth and friendly. Our starter, the heirloom tomato soup poured over a crouton topped with goat cheese, was fresh and flavorful. The ribs were delectable - smoky and meaty with a sticky BBQ sauce. The slaw that accompanied them was one of the best I've ever had - julienned green apple and fennel along with the cabbage. Not so good: My Bloody Mary had bacon bits in it, which seemed kind of strange, and they got stuck in the straw, making it difficult to drink. The peach and burrata salad was a disappointment: the peaches looked gorgeous, and were perfectly grilled, but had no flavor whatsoever. The bill: $137 for a meal for two, which seemed excessive.

The concierge in our SF hotel hadn't heard if Barrel House but we decided to try it anyway. We were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful decor inside and the postcard view outside. All the servers and workers were very welcoming (to obvious tourists). The kale salad with stone fruits was delicious and so was the tuna tartare and the flatbread. Enjoyed it and we'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The food was very good, and creative. We'll go back. Server was attentive but had too many tables to cover. If the weather holds up, sit outside for the view. Arriving early we avoided the high noise level that became an issue later in the evening. And it was not even crowed. Just a heads up. We asked for a view, and sort of got one. A 360 view picture on their web site would have helped in selection of a table where the views are. We had to peak around bearing walls for the view. Smaller groups could be seated closer to a window, and we were just a party of 4. The wonderful artful bar is worth a drink

We have eaten here a number of times and the food has always been good. The view is always beautiful. The service has mostly been spotty but this last visit was horrible. If the wait staff paid half as much time checking on tables as the bus staff does, I would give five stars for service. Granted our server had a large table behind us but when we finally got our bill, after trying to get her attention for twenty minutes, a nice woman came back behind her to collect our credit card and immediately brought it back for payment. Why is she not available to check on tables to. See if they need anything?

Very touristy. Food was ok, steak was grisly and I'm not even sure it was a NY Strip because it was cut-up. Very inattentive service but they are probably accustomed to people who are from out of town. Don't need to go back although view was beautiful.

Went for our wedding lunch with my + hubbo's families. We ended up being 40 min late for our reservation (thanks Bridge traffic), but Barrel House was very accommodating. My favorites were the meatball appetizer, and the pork and the swordfish main courses. Our waiter, Todd, was incredibly attentive and kind to our demands. I gave 3 stars for service because he had quite a few tables, meaning half our table waited 30 min for wine. It wasn't the waiter's fault; he really should've been given fewer tables (we were an 11 top). Highly recommend for groups.

The food was overall very good. We ordered Tuna, Ribs, sliders, Truffle fries and they were all very flavorful. The bread of the sliders could be change or keep better, since it was a little dry and not that good. But again overall it was very good. I was a little disappointed with the coke refill charge, which I paid for $7.00 cokes (which the waiter forgot to mention it would not be free) that had lots of ice and little coke :(

This was our second visit to the Barrel House. They seem to cater mainly to tourists. They had a very difficult time understanding and accommodating our son's dairy-free request. We had two different answers on whether or not the flatbread has dairy. We then ordered the brussel sprouts with pancetta without dairy (in case they were cooked in butter), and they left off the pancetta. When we pointed this out, after great confusion, they brought the same dish of brussel sprouts back with a bit of pancetta sprinkled on top, which missed the point of the dish. My daughter asked for her pizza to have no mushrooms, so they left off the mushrooms and everything else except the cheese, so we had to send that back too. I won't rush to go back.

What a nice surprise to discover such a delicious place in Sausalito. The view over the water of the city has got to be one of the best in the Bay, fantastic cocktails and super friendly service. Loved the seasonal menu - wonderful grilled peaches with burrata and excellent Moroccan spiced meatballs! Everyone recommended the ribs appetizer which was a little sweet for me personally, but the mint dressing on the cole slaw is one of those things you literally can't stop eating. Can't wait to go back for more...

We get to barrel house expecting a nice lunch. After we ordered our hand made sodas, which were good, but over prices (my ginger ale $3.50 my moms $4.50). I ordered a glass of their rose. It came to the table and had an orange color to it. Interesting I thought, so I tasted it and was very disappointed. I was hoping for a nice crisp white that was a little fruity. This was more like a buttery Chardonnay. So I sent it back and asked for a taste of their savblanc, once again a bit disappointed. It was room tempurure and just not good. We placed our order. It had taken over 15 minutes for my steak and mothers pork chop. My steak was cooked med well, I asked for med rare. My mothers pork chop was dry. Not worth spending $70 on

The restaurant has potential. Great location, nice space, good tasting food. The wine list is full of not-very-good wines ridiculously overpriced. We ordered the cheese plate (under shareable plates!) which shocked the whole table. It was $17 for 3 pinky-size cheese pieces...not enough to share with the table! We had beautiful views and good entrees but we really felt the restaurant was so greedy that it took a lot away from the experience.
