All of the above earned this casual bistro featuring country fresh Northwest cuisine rave reviews. Honors have included "Restaurant of the Year", "Most Innovative Wine List" and "Wine Grand Award" awards, presented by the Washington Wine Commission. Delectable dishes entice guests to linger in the light-filled dining room or to gather around the fireplace. While in the summer, lunch and dinner are served in the courtyard.

    Great location, easy parking, quickly seated, great table, prompt service, the food was fantastic, it was a really nice family brunch. I think there are definitely cheaper breakfasts than $50/person, but we had some excellent breakfast cocktails and coffee, and the food really was excellent. I'd plug my server but I forget her name (I almost never retain that bit of information after the fact).

    We selected the Barking Frog as the restaurant for our 25th wedding anniversary, we are quite happy with the experience that we had. Our server’s name was Jorge and he was friendly and we felt like he was personally invested in us having a good time and enjoying the menu. We were provided with an amuse bouche of a pea emulsion that featured fermented garlic with some pickled onion garnish, it was such a layered flavor story, it was just a small dollop on a spoon, just a taste, and my husband and I were just delighted We had the caviar, we’ve never had caviar before, and we were excited to try it, it was lovely. The highlight of this plate where the potatoes that tasted like they were cooked in either beef tallow or duck fat, they were really delicious. I had a salad that featured something called pine snow, there were beets and arugula, with a buttermilk emulsion and a bright pink acidic sauce. It was really lovely. We enjoyed the cheese plate, the cheeses were from Oregon, Washington, accompaniments were thoughtful. We were lucky enough to have the yellowtail, it came with a fermented garlic sauce and avocado purée. Fermented garlic is so much more delicious than I ever could’ve guessed, while we were at the restaurant, it sold out completely. I ordered the Doug fir salmon, it came with wilted, bitter greens and I love bitter greens. Eating this dish was like being outside on a drizzly day with a campfire in Alaska. I’m from Alaska so I can speak with some experience. This was such a delicious entrée. It came with a pile of salmon roe, The skin on the salmon skin was served very crispy. My husband had the scallops with carrot and a yogurt sauce, they were cooked absolutely perfectly. My husband teared up, he feels very strongly about scallops and again totally delightful very wonderful experience. very experiential eating. We did not have dessert because the dessert menu looked beautiful, but lacked that sense of a journey. Espresso 10/10 Would return

    The service was very good, a little slow on checking in on needs. The food though small portions was very tasty and different. Overall a very good experience. To finish, the deserts are amazing visually and tastdfully

    We started with cocktails, the bread service and a dozen oysters. Outstanding! My wife had the diver scallops and me the halibut. So tasty and the service was spot on. We opted to share the raspberry chocolate dessert with a glass of port. Along the way they brought out a delicious bite in a spoon and a hand made truffle. Very attentive staff and Nick the bartender and our primary server was awesome and very knowledgeable.

    Our experience at The Barking Frog was incredible. The food and beverage selections were great however what brought that all to light was our server Kahlill. He went over the top to describe the specials and complimentary items that would go with each meal. He knew what area of hood canal that the oysters came from and why they were special for size and taste. He was very attentive to the table along with all the staff and bidders involved in clearing or bringing new items. It was overall a great experience for us.

    On a recent visit to the area, we ate here twice, for lunch and again for breakfast. That’s how delicious it was. Attentive friendly service.

    Service is amazing staff is amazing…. From the moment you walk in the door to when you leave you are shrouded in platinum service. Not sure what to drink, I had a great conversation with the Sommelier Torrey and mad me feel comfortable and educated me at the same time. Usually I’m nervous to talk to a Sommelier but Torrey help guide our night in the right direction. Thank you again Barking Frog for a great dinner!
