Getting there

  • Public Transit: There are numerous IndyGo bus stops on all streets surrounding us. Please see www.indygo.net/routes.htm for bus schedules.
  • Parking: Street Parking
  • Parking Details: All surrounding streets are meeter parking on both sides. The meters are free after 9pm through the week. There is a parking garage on the Northwest corner of Ohio and Delaware, a parking garage on the south side of Ohio street between Delaware and Alabama, and a $3 honor lot just north of our building on Delaware which is open after 5pm weekdays and all weekends.
A word from BARcelona Tapas - Indianapolis
BARcelona Tapas prides itself on creating a traditional authentic Tapas Bar atmosphere. This includes a warm decor and the traditional hanging of Serrano hams and dried bacalaos. The service reflects a traditional tapas experience as you might find in Madrid, Barcelona or Sevilla. Small plates of food are prepared to order and delivered one or two at a time, as to encourage sharing of the plates and conversation together with great Sangria.

Barcelona Tapas Indianapolis is an open air restaurant when the weather is nice! Come and enjoy one of our two large patios or sit at the bar and enjoy a breeze through the restaurant on warm summer days.

His service was friendly and efficient! I always recommend this hot spot to friends and family and will continue to do so!"

  • "We had been looking forward to experiencing this restaurant. Made a pre- concert reservation and found the restaurant to be fairly grungy - sticky, grimy menus, noisy and not what expected. The tapas were extremely disappointing! We ordered crispy artichokes that were deep fried morsels accompanied by what tasted like plain mayo. The ahi tuna on greens portion was extremely tiny for $11.95. Worst was the beef tenderloin that was grisly and tough. Both my husband and I had to spit out pieces that were inedible. Check that one off the list."

We like going here with groups - it is great to share many dishes, linger over a few sangrias and have a nice relaxed but fun dinner. Prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is great for a fun evening with friends. The spicy tomato dip with goat cheese is my favorite dish by far!"

Best recommendations are the garlic shrimp, the tenderloin with spinach, and the goat cheese in tomato sauce - while none were 4-star worthy, they were passable. everything else we ordered lacked "tapas" spice profile and even salt and pepper? summary: a little more fun than going to the freezer for pre-made empanadas."

My husband wanted to go there for his birthday, so we decided to give it a try. We were surprised that once we got him to taste the offerings, he liked nearly all of the 7 different selections we made, and he loved the creme brule for dessert!"

The restaurant was vibrant and cozy. The range of dishes offered was perfect. They had a good selection without being completely overwhelming. I would return and recommend it to anyone who enjoys Tapas or is looking to try it for the first time."

  • "This really does give you a feel for a spanish tapas bar. Although the tapas are larger than you would expect in Spain, the flavors are excellent. Huge mixed olive bowl. Great spanish tortilla, empanadas, and interesting fried avocado. My wife and I really liked to option for a carafe of wine rather than simply by the glass or whole bottle. A really fun introduction to Indianapolis. Easy walk from downtown hotels."

There were 4 of us in our party which allowed for us to try the majority of the available dishes for each course of the meal. We enjoyed everything we tried...lots of flavor! Although we are not vegetarians, we did try one vegetarian dish and were surprised to find it was actually our favorite of the night! We will definitely be back!"

If you are in to artichokes the Alcachofas fritas are delicious, the Queso De Carba Al Horno (baked goat cheese in tomato sauce) is a special treat!! This place is a must try, the service was excellent, the food was delivered fast! Great environment for a group or party. I will definitely go back."

  • "I'm not a fan of buffets, but this is an easy choice for lunch. They have a lot of salad choices, so you don't have to eat all the caloric options. You can also order from the menu, but since my business guest chose the buffet, I played along. Overall, good food. Our waitress was excellent---kept on top of things without hovering."

  • "The idea of sharing your dinner with someone, literally, made BARcelona Tapas a great Valentine's Day dinner destination. For someone who's never had tapas before, the options were plentiful and nearly overwhelming, so we opted for the special, which was geared for a couple. The atmosphere was wonderful. The restaurant came alive around 630. The sound of other diners was joyous. The service was very fast, with each course coming quickly, yet giving you enough time to enjoy them. The hostess and wait staff were all quite pleasant, and willing to explain anything you might have a question about. All in all, our experience was fantastic, we will definitely be returning once the snow has cleared and we can dine outside!"

  • "We tried this as a Devour Downtown choice and were very happy with the food and the price. Our waiter was great, very helpful, knowledgable and fun to talk to. We enjoyed choosing and eating the 6 courses to share. We thought we might still be hungry but the portions were a" generous small" and we ended up being pretty stuffed. Of course we liked some of our choices better thanothers but enjoyed them all. Our favorite was actually the marinara and goat cheese skillet served with bread. Nice selection of beer. Over all, lots of fun."

  • "We shared the Valentine's menu, for $35 we got six plates of fantastic flavors. And we were quite full after just 3. The goat cheese & sirloin plates were amazing. For dessert we had strawberry cheros but were told by regulars seated right next to us that the tres leche cake is their best sweet finish. The atmosphere is not quiet, romantic, since you're seated very close to other tables. But we'll be back. The $35 menu is currently available every Tuesday as well."

They had a great, affordable valentine's couple special ($35), but my husband was too picky for us to share lol. Great selection of great food. Something different. Very fast, friendly service, great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Me and my boyfriend and two other couples went to Barcelona Tapas for the first time during Devour Downtown. The service was good and our server was really friendly. I was semi-disappointed with the food though. We had about six courses so I was stuffed by the end. The prices were great, but in my opinion some of the dishes on the Devour menu were quite odd and not too tasty. For example, we received a course that was literally just mushrooms in a skillet..not the most exciting. I was looking forward to the paella course the most, however, that fell flat for me too. However, the Sangria was pretty good and our flan was delicious, by far the best course of the night! I would recommend this place for a group looking for something lower cost."

  • "Went to BARcelona during Devour Downtown at the advice of some friends. Great cocktails, and a good variety of food. It is fun to go with a group so that you get to sample more things. Service was great, small plates were timed well. Restaurant is noisy, but that is part of the fun. DEFINITELY try the shrimp in garlic aioli....outstanding!"

  • "My friend and I took advantage of Devour Indy and stopped in at BARcelona Taps. I had never been before and was greeted with a warm atmosphere. My friend and I wanted to drink some wine and the waitress suggested sharing a picture of the house-made Sangria. We tried the white and it was delicious. There was so much food to be had, we ended up taking boxes home. The house bread is delicious. I loved the tomato sauce with goat cheese and herbs. I will definitely be returning!"
