"It's all about the food -- unbelievable. Original, delicious and, frankly, mind-blowing. Every time. Even waiting his fun there. Service is casual but very efficient and caring. Beer list is incredible. Wine list appropriate and interesting. Atmosphere --cramped, contemporary, cool."

"Lots of great things about this place. First, they were friendly and accommodating when I called to ask for them to change a reservation from 2 people to 3 on a Friday night. Second, the staff is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. Third, the food is fantastic. Incredibly tasty and satisfying. My friends and I shared a crudo sampler (all four items were delicious, esp. the arctic char), the lobster beet salad, spicy prawns, and swordfish. Found everything really tasty - especially loved the lobster beet salad. If you like lobster, beets, or burrata, you'll enjoy this.
If there's a downside, it's that the place is pretty small and gets pretty loud, which may bother some people. Didn't bother me. Def. would go again."

"The service was absolutely fantastic! And the food - especially the seafood chowder and the crudo sampler plate were perfectly prepared, displayed and served! My only complaint is that it can be too loud, but it's not always."

"Bar Crudo continues to mostly dazzle and sometimes frustrate. The dishes are wonderful -- at times even revelatory -- and then again it depends on the night. The dishes will vary from visit to visit just enough to inject an element of uncertainty. We went back this week for the hamachi collar which we had two weeks prior and it blew our minds. No hamachi collar on the menu this time. We went for the oysters which were great and the tacos which were messy fun. The head-on prawns in the spicy sauce were great, but you never know how that sauce is going to turn out or how much of it you will get. We'll keep going back because it is NOT predictable."

"I took some family from out of town. The relatively small menu had me thinking that it might have been a bad idea. But we all selected two dishes and there wasn't a moment of regret after the first bites. Amazing food. Amazing. Creative and beautiful on the plate. But bottom line is that you just can't beat great ingredients and preparation. Excellent. The only downside is that the noise level is deafening. It must be among the worst of all SF restaurants. So don't plan on taking mom and dad."
