With an innovative menu - this is
now one of my favorites in San Francisco!"

Bar Crudo is worth trying once,
but probably only that. The 2 standouts that would make me consider coming back are the variety of oysters available (Kushi are hard to find) and the Crudo sampler was artfully done with really tasty sashimi. The San Sebastian (a reinvention of salad Niçoise or at least inspired by it) was a let down. Perhaps we should have gone for the Lobster salad instead. The chowder was tasty, but the bacon seemed a bit like cheating -- everything tastes richer when there's bacon involved. If you have a hankering for seafood/sashimi/oysters and find yourself in NoPa, absolutely try this place, just don't expect to find SF's best kept secret."

I should have known the crudo at
Bar Crudo would be legit, but if I had any doubts, eating is believing! We started with the crudo sampler and were pleasantly surprised with each new bite. The chef's use of fresh herbs (like dill) to accent the fish was really incredible. Our next course was the burrata/beet salad, which was lovely. Finally, cracked crab in a tremendous broth. Our server was so disappointed that we did not use some bread to sop ou the broth, but I am gluten free! The crab was perfectly prepared, though, and worth ordering. Final note, wine list is quite good with wines from all over the world. Overall, a quality dining experience worth repeating! "

Service was really in attentive &
sub-par. Waitstaff had plenty of time to hang out & chat with each other, but ignored our table. Food was ok - overall, noise level on a not very busy early evening made conversation difficult. Disappointing!!"
Dined on 4/5/2014
the reduced prices allow you to go
crazy with oysters for $1 and all the other delicious bar bites"

Great little spot for seafood and
vino. Love stopping here before a show at the Independent. Reservation definitely needed. Small plates and great wine selection!"
Dined on 3/4/2014
Always delicious, always
fun...love the food and the service! Wish it were just a tad quieter, but even the music is great! This is the place I take all my friends and family when they come to SF."
Dined on 3/22/2014
Two friends and I came here for
the happy hour. While the food was very fresh, the taste of everything was just mediocre. Service as well. Happy hour oysters were tiny and unimpressive. Service was consistent but unfriendly. We won't be returning."

If you're into raw seafood and
like to hang out in trendy restaurants this is your spot. They have an impressive selection of raw oysters, we tried 3 of them, and fell in love with the Beausoleils- very delicate taste, we never had them before. Then we chose the Crudo Sampler which was a feast for our tastebuds. One explosion of taste after another and beautifully presented. We finished with crab legs and the steamed mussels with chorizo I believe and they were to die for. So soft and tasty, we'll be back for sure."

Made a 7pm reservation for Friday
date night. It was very busy and it took a bit to get water but the evening went well from there."
Dined on 3/14/2014
Cold plates were delicious,
however, the Idaho trout was overcooked and not very good. The mussels with chorizo were excellent. The lobster was not particularly interesting."
Dined on 3/12/2014
We wanted to like this place, but
unfortunately left disappointed. The service, particularly from our server, was indifferent and borderline rude. It seems this place is aspiring to be more high end and cool than the service or food warrants. While the raw sampler was obviously fresh and tasty, the entrees were thrown together and not flavorful. They need to try a little harder on the service end if they want to stay in this neighborhood."

Everything was delicious and so
fresh. Oyster selection was good and they were delicious. Loved the tangy seafood chowder.."
Dined on 3/11/2014
We've eaten at Bar Crudo several
times and drool just thinking about their seafood chowder (a must have if you go). But this time we were sat in the upstairs area which seemed a bit louder than usual and with service incredibly slow. We must have sat for at least 10 minutes with servers passing us left and right before we were greeted. My husband basically finished his meal before his second beer arrived and we were never asked if our food was good until it was gone. I was certainly disappointed with the given our previous experiences have all been wonderful so perhaps just a bad night. The food is still amazing though so if you're willing to be patient, check it out!"

We decided fairly late on Saturday
evening to go out for dinner. Bar Crudo had a table available in 45 minutes, so we ubered over ASAP. We shared a dozen oysters, the Lobster Beet Salad, mussels and a handful of beers. Everything was great. The Lobster Beet Salad was definitely a highlight and I am not even a big fan of Beets. The beer selection borders on overwhelming and I love craft beer. The waiter had some great suggestions. Overall great experience."

O restarante é muito bom pra quem
gosta de frutos do mar. Nao tem opçao pra quem nao come peixes e frutos do mar. Ha somente uma opcao de sobremesa."

My dinner companion almost chomped
down on a fat piece of a wine glass. Really sad because I used to love eating here."
Dined on 7/13/2013
The first impression of Bar Crudo
is that it's smallish, densely populated, and loud, both from the din of conversation and the retro music blaring. We loved the tuna and yellowtail starter crudos and the grilled swordfish. A little less so on the pan seared trout and the chowder, which was richer than necessary. Fish quality was A+, which is why you're here. Waitress was engaged and really pleasant. Hostess went out of her way to help front of house tables and multitask. Nice team service quality. Will go back."

We liked the food, appetizer, the
service, but we almost got lost finding it. The sign is so small, so we missed it twice while in our car. We just noticed that when we ordered the smoked fish, the bones were not removed at all, we also ordered like a seafood stew, and the shells of the shrimp were not removed or cleaned, so we're thinking if its the restaurants trademark, or the cooks just simply forgot about it....I would prob skip on the fish next time bec of the bones, but it tastes good. Service is very good, but best to have reservation."

Get a reservation or arrive early
(5 p.m.) for a novel dining experience that focuses on fresh, raw or lightly cooked seafood and also various unusual hot dishes. Worth the visit."
Dined on 2/25/2014
We went for seafood, and seafood
is what we got. The Crudo sampler was quite delicious and demonstrated the uniqueness of Bar Crudo's dishes. The seafood chowder was yummy and the oysters were fresh. The menu is quite simple; it would have been nice to have a few more hot choices because we ended up only getting cold dishes except for their seafood chowder. But they got a good selection of oysters. No dessert or coffee though so it felt like an eat and go place. Good wine and beer selection. Overall, we had a good experience. But since my husband and I were on a date night, we had hoped for a bit more ambiance and a place to linger a bit longer. if you want ambiance and more selection, I would go for something like Anchor and Hope."

Bar Crudo is one of my very
favorite restaurants in SF. A bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for... they always deliver the most sumptuous sea-food in the city. Their staff is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and their seafood chowder is to diiieee foorrr!!!"
Dined on 2/18/2014
Great service! Our waitress was on
point in giving feedback about certain dishes. She was also very friendly along with the other staff members. Would come back again. Thanks"

An intimate, loft-like restaurant
with a casual-romantic vibe. For happy hour, I definitely recommend Bar Crudo because of their delicious selections at affordable prices. Among my favorite choices are the oysters, tacos and seafood chowder. The staff is friendly, attentive and accomodating. Be sure to make a reservation."

The entire time I felt rushed to
order and get out. My shrimp dish was terrible"
Dined on 2/7/2014
On my third visit, the lobster and
beet salad had tough lobster and not a lot of flavor. The service is excellent and most of the other dishes delicious."
Dined on 2/4/2014
Our meal was amazing. They were
extremely accommodating with dietary issues and Drew our waiter was fabulous. I had the trout. My gf had sashimi. We shared oysters. I will DEFINITELY be back, with my fiance, and with my girl friends. The ambiance was great and location as well."
Dined on 1/28/2014
We went for a friend's birthday
and though the space of the restaurant is relatively small, they kindly accommodated with what I believe was the largest table. There were four food snobs dining and every one enjoyed the cuisine. I would personally stick to the raw selections in the future, but others enjoyed the cooked trout and Maine Lobster. The wine list also offered a great European selection."
Dined on 1/22/2014
Great food, fair prices and
located in a fun 'up-and-coming' neighborhood with other nice restaurants, bars and cafe's. Good, clean crowd frequents this restaurant."
Dined on 1/18/2014
This place was everything it
should have been and more. I had gone into this dinner hearing all the hype, and it delivered. Definitely do the seafood platter, and I really liked the lobster and beet salad. It's a good looking SF crowd, no pretention, and just overall a great experience. Recommend highly. Note: I did not go here for a special occasion or anything. I eat at the best restaurants in SF, and this place stacks up. Strong beer list as well. Keep it up, Bar Crudo."

We sat upstairs in hopes of
evading the noise of the bar and loud music; it was a successful move! There were three of us and we shared every dish. The fish was fresh, delicious, and exquisitely matched with other flavors; I especially liked the char with creme fraiche and wasabi soaked tobiko. We had a 6pm reservation, in time to enjoy a dozen Pickering oysters during happy hour for $1 each. The waitress was helpful, pleasant, present we needed her, not at all hovering. I'll happily come back here."

Hi, The food was amazing, fresh
tasty oysters. Lobster beet salad was delicious and mussel dish (with the chorizo broth) a must try. The waiter was very knowledgeable and provided very relevant recommendations. Here when need, discrete otherwise. On the negative side, I found the place very noisy and it was at some point difficult to understand the person in front of me. The music was maybe a bit too loud, unlucky table location or maybe it was just the people around us on that night."

Second time at Bar Crudo. Again,
food was absolutely delicious and service was great. Love this place."

Super cosy place in a hip
neighbourhood of SanFran. We really loved the freshness of all the products, the honest ingredients and also the delicious happy hour oysters! :)"

restaurant in the city! Such an awesome spot!"

We were in town to ring in the new
year. So glad to find Bar Crudo. The food and presentation was outstanding. It's an obvious favorite with the locals. The pre-fixed NYE menu was an excellent choice."
Dined on 12/31/2013
This was my second time at Bar
Crudo, and it did not disappoint. I was with friends from out of town and we arrived in time to order from the Happy Hour menu. Happy Hour on a weekend? Fantastic! My friends ordered a cup of the seafood chowder and shared the butterfish tacos among them. I had a bowl of the seafood chowder and it was so rich and filling, I couldn't finish it. Each bite of the savory bisque was a delight. It was loaded with chunks of fish, squid, shrimp, abalone. If you're looking for lots of sides though, this is not the place. Bar Crudo is all about the seafood. As for ambience, it's a bit too crowded and chaotic for my tastes. Not the best place for a quiet conversation."
Dined on 1/4/2014
This little gem is a perfect place
for seafood lovers! We indulged in a luscious French wine with a couple dozen delicious oysters and a crude sampler for two........ Then off to another nearby restaurant for dinner."
Dined on 12/29/2013
love this restaurant! It's on the
pricey side but when it's a special occasion, who cares! It's a super trendy place with delicious seafood. love the crudo plates and HH raw oysters and drinks."
Dined on 12/22/2013
This is one of my favorite spots
in NOPA to go and eat. They have one of the best happy hours in SF so getting a couple glasses of wine, a dozen oysters, and the best seafood chowder I've ever eaten won't break the bank. The staff is very chatty and great at making recommendations."
