  • "My wife and I ate here for Dinner the Monday following our Saturday wedding. We went to Mohegan for a mini moon and decided to have a romantic dinner. Once we were seated I was looking at the wine list when our server Jana stopped to the table and I asked her for her suggestion on a champagne - the restaurant comped us our first glass & she suggested a wonderful choice. The meal was a price fixe menu. We were stuffed and had to take our dessert to go (which also hit the spot). Great food, great service, great atmosphere!"

  • "We enjoyed everything, from the raw bar to the entree. Our server Shannon was kind enough to ask if our visit was for a special occasion, which it was my wife's birthday. She then brought out a small dessert with a candle which made her night. The steaks were hands down one of the best I had every eaten. We will be going back very soon."

  • "Had Filet Mignon and it was cooked to perfection with an outstanding side sauce. In fact bought a bottle of the sauce. A little spicy but added a lot to the meat which filet mignon on average can sometimes be tasteless. The sauce along with the rub made it delicious. Desert not great - not a real german chocolate cake. The service is excellent."

  • "When I checked out their menu on the website, I decided I wanted the Tuna Tartare and the Chippino! Then Bobby had two cooking videos on the site and I checked them out...guess, what? He was making the same 2 things I was going to order. After watching the videos I was convinced even more that's what I wanted to try. The Tuna Tartare was perfection..deliciously tender tuna, just the right amount of spice. The Chippino was exceptional...esp the broth ...to die for! The only problem I had with it was...the crab claw, since it was covered in tomatoey sauce was difficult to crack open and not get super messy. The waitress solved my problem,took the claw back to the kitchen and it arrived back at my table shell-less.. just the crab meat :D"

  • "Had a birthday dinner here and the steak and pork chops were out of this world, but the shrimp and grits was a very big disappointment. I would suggest you go to the bar have some potato chips and blue cheese sauce and tuna tartar with your drink and that would be perfect. Desserts were very good too."

  • "Smallish menu, but what is there, is sublime. I had the plantain encrusted Mahi Mahi service with spinach and a black bean puree......everything about it was perfect. My daughter had the clams and my son had the ricotta pancakes....all truly excellent. The best meal I've had outside of NYC. Decor and ambience is appropriate. Pity this is place is not closer to home, but really worth it for the drive to Mohegan alone."

  • "2 out of the last 3 times we ate here we had to send back one or both dinners. They were not cooked properly. The steak was too tough to eat. This is supposed to be a very fancy restaurant.....the prices certainly support that. Having to eat our dinners by ourselves while our partner had nothing to eat does not make for a fancy restaurant. Even though the management gave us a free coffee and ONE dessert, this restaurant is not cutting it as a place to go for a first class meal. I'd spend my money, time and meals in a place that deserved my business!"

  • "Great service here, our waitress was very nice. The food was decent, but the crab claw cocktail wasn't that great. And the onion soup was so sweet it should have been desert. I had the fried chicken for my entree, and have to say, it was the best fried chicken I've ever had. Desert was creme brûlée , and nothing could have been better! All in all, it was a great evening out, with great service!"

  • "One of my favorite places to dine. Always greeted with a smile, staff is amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect. Food is meticulously prepared, Karen (server), simply put, is FANTASTIC! Lots of attention to detail at Bar Americain. Management walks the restaurant to ensure that you are happy with everything throughout your entire dining experience. I've had the lobster, which is incredible, the steak, the lamb and recently tried the pork chop with tangerine glaze, which, to no surprise, is fabulous. I typically do not order dessert, but always save room when I dine at Bar Americain. Desserts are thoughtfully prepared and so delicious. Whether I'm ending a long week or celebrating a special occasion, Bar Americain is the place!"

We were celebrating my husband's birthday-I noted this in my online reservation and they brought his dessert with a lit candle and decorated plate! The service was excellent, the food delicious and the ambiance lovely. I would recommend this to anyone! Pricey but worth it!"

  • "This was the third time I've brought my wife here to celebrate a special day and the first time the food was average instead of outstanding. After the medal we found out there have been some changes to the menu. My wife enjoyed fried chicken even though she prefers dark meat and they removed the thigh and added a larger breast. I had the cioppino which was good but not what I expect from any restaurant with Bobby Flay's name on it. Maybe we'll try another restaurant next time we go to Mohegan Sun."

  • "Mohegan Sun needed a high end restaurant after Rain disappeared. Bobby Flay has given it to them but you are mostly paying a premium for his name. Rain was at a similar price point but the food was the support for that, not TV food star. While the food was very good, you expect that at $220 for 2 with a single bottle of table wine. BTW, the wine list starts at about $40/ and rises steeply from there. overall a nice experience but will likely go back to Todd English's Tuscany at the Sun before Bar Americain."

  • "We have been to Bar Americain twice before and loved it. We went for my husband's 40th birthday and were extremely disappointed. There were no options for kids and as a result we spent $40 on steak plus $9 for a tiny portion of fries - neither of which they liked. As a vegetarian my options were limited. I got the crepe and had to return it because it was very spicy. I had spinach for dinner. My husband had the fish which was "ok." Even the asparagus salad he had as an appetizer was mediocre. The only redeeming part of the meal was desert which I highly recommend. The waitstaff and manager were kind about the situation and yet did not do enough to have us come back. We will NEVER eat there again."

We never had to wait the waitress, who did have a full section. She was very attentive to all her tables. The food was amazing. I would go back next time I am at Mohegan Sun."

  • "Bar Americain made our anniversary special. I had mentioned it was my anniversary when making our reservation on Open Table. Our server wished us a Happy Anniversary with a couple glasses of complimentary sparkling wine. Our apps and meals were great as always. I had the escargot and shrimp and grits and my wife had the goat cheese salad and mahi mahi. Both seasoned to perfection. We were too full for desert, but they still brought us a small serving of chocolate mousse decorated with a happy anniversary. Thanks Bar Americain for the special evening."

  • "I have eaten at Bar Americain in NYC many times. I am a great fan of Bobby Flay, however my experience at this restaurant was disappointing. I ordered the trio of shellfish appetizers. I have had them before and enjoyed them and was excited to enjoy them once again. Sadly, the lobster and avocado was a mushy mess of avocado that had begun to turn brown and wilted arugula. Did not see any lobster!! The crab and was accented with too few tiny tiny pieces of flavorless mango amid much to much radicchio. The usual rich and fragrant coconut flavor was almost imperceptible. The server was accommodating and sweet and replaced my trio with the shrimp and tomatillo sauce, which thank goodness was as how I had remembered it."

The Prix Fix At $35. is cheap but the salmon was as dry as the cedar plank it came on and the secret receipe chicken should remain a secret. It was a HUGH thigh and tasteless except for the sauce. The chopped salad is HUGH and chopped a little to fine for my taste, you didn't know what you were eating. I wish they would get their act together . Service is good,"

  • "Second time we have had dinner here. Thank you to the wonderful wait staff that paced our meal so that we may enjoy each course. Wine menu surprisingly limited however food made up for it. Amazing lamb chops!! Thank you for the champagne toast to start dinner. It was a wonderful dining experience. I'd recommend it and I'd return again."

Although the service was attentive, I was somewhat disappointed in the meal itself, although the desert was fabulous. I had the Vidallia onion soup as an appeitizer and was greatly disappointed. The shrimp and grits were OK, with the shrimp being of the miniature variety."

You get in-depth and one-on-one service. And of course, the food is like eating with bobby flay as if he cooked it himself."
