  • "First, I made a reservation for 6:30 pm and we arrived at 6:23 pm and we were seated, now our troubles began. Our waiter totally ignored us. After waiting 15 minutes , I complained to the host. The Host said that the server will be right over. He never showed up. However, he served other customers who arrived after we did. My wife than complained also. Finally the host came and gave us water and took our order. When my meal arrived, there was a human hair in it , not belonging to either of us. Trying to make amends the host halved the bills. We will not eat there again, nor will we recommend it to our friends. This unpleasant experience cost us two and half hours of our lives!"

  • "Back Country Brewery is a typical inexpensive, fried food and "basket" grill where everything is served with a side of fries and coleslaw. That said, the fish & chips were delicious with lots of fish served in the basket and their beers are quite good. TVs everywhere ensure that the focus is not on the food or beer. On a Friday night the place was mobbed so service was adequate at best."

  • "Seated at table for 3 for our party of 4 and squeezed the highchair in to make it work. Saw the waitress for the first time about 7:10 and ordered our dinners - salad, 2 kids spaghetti dinners and catfish platter. At 8 pm I called the waitress over and asked her to let the kitchen know that we were very impatient having been here now an hour. She expressed that she too was frustrated and knew just how we felt. Pointing to the squirming two year old now on my lap, I told her I doubted if she knew exactly how we felt. Her reply was that we only had two impatient people and she had half a restaurant full. Our dinners finally came out at 8:20. Food was ok but somewhat irrelevant after the terrible service and poor attitude of the server."

  • "Our entire experience was completely awesome thanks to Duncan who took the utmost care of our group of 20! He was very attentive, always present when we needed him, handled 8 kids and their orders masterfully and always made sure the adults had everything we needed, i.e. drinks and food!"

  • "We had a large group and made reservations. We showed up on time and were not seated until 25 min after our reservation time. The staff literally had 3 servers to handle the entire bar and wait tables for the rest of the place. After we were finally seated, we waited about 15 min for water and to place a drink order. Our drinks didn't make it to us within 30 min. Finally a few people from our group went to the bar with our empty water carafes and got refills and made the bar tender fill our beers and wine orders. Let me remind you that this is a brewery. The rest of the night was very similar. Over 3 hours total for the entire dinner and that didn't include appetizers or desert."

  • "We walked in and were told there was a 2 hour wait, even though there were multiple open tables in the restaurant. We were able to make a reservation through OT for a half hour later, which the hostess did not like. She sat us before our reserved time, but it took about 15 minutes for a server to come to the table. Food was great. Typical brewpup food, but prepared well. Beer was excellent."

  • "Several online reviews mentioned poor service. The waiter was very good, but overwhelmed. The front of the house needs to learn how to mange the areas so people are not waiting so long. In addition, the food was all overcooked. We doused it with ketchup or gravy in order to eat it. This is basically a bar that serves food. Drink enough and you don't notice the the poor service and the overcooked, overpriced food."

  • "The service was terrible! The wait staff was more concerned with cleaning tables than waiting on customers. We sat for 20 minutes with wait staff all around us, unwilling to wait on or even greet us! I finally had to go to the hostess stand, wait again, and request help at our table. The food was ok, nothing great. Cold fries and several reminders on things they forgot with the meal. Overall a big thumbs down! We will never return!"

  • "Dined and beer tasted there twice on our thanksgiving vacay last week. The regular menu was good, ate pizza and beer mmmmm. We also ate the Thanksgiving buffet there, which was decent. After we ate our 1st serving the waiter asked if we wanted the check. Only 25 mins.had passed, so yeah we felt a bit rushed considering it was Thanksgiving and a buffet we paid for. We politely responded, "no" and continued w our Thanksgiving convo. The family continued w/ dessert etc.and I suppose the waitor realized we weren't going anytime soon because he didn't ask again to bring the check. Anyhow, he redeemed himself w his knowledge about the beers he shared when we asked, so we ended up leaving w happy faces."

  • "I should have read the reviews. We arrived around 130p on Sunday afternoon. They were moderately busy, lots of servers, short on kitchen help (is what we were told). We waited over 1 hr. for our food. Other tables got tired of waiting & left without eating . We were offered potato chips or chips & salsa to hold us over. We ordered potato chips. The server came back & told us that since the chips were fresh cooked it would be a wait for those & asked if chips & salsa would be okay. We agreed to the chips & salsa... had to wait for those as well! Managment never came out & left the servers to apologize for the long delays. From the reviews I read later, this is typical. I also emailed the restaurant direct & have had no response."

  • "We got a reservation but still had to wait 40 minutes to get our table. The service was extremely slow, specially the kitchen. We had to order the same things several times to get them. Our waiter was very friendly and did his best, even though the rest of the service was terrible. And this was on a Thursday night, I can only imagine during the weekend. Won't recommend to my friends due to the bad service..."

The only real plus side was being able to reserve a table here and the beer, the beer was above average for a mountain brewery. If you are like me and read reviews but go to the place any way, take my word for it, this just isn't worth it.   • "I do not remember who our server was, but he did not do a great job. I have been a server myself so I understand the pressures and difficulties with the job. However, he repeatedly neglected our table and messed up orders. He also did not split the bill appropriately. During all of this the restaurant was not at full capacity. There were at least four empty tables. I hope that this was just a fluke because other than that the place was great."

When I am stupid enough to venture into this culinary and service disaster, I am promptly reminded that I should never have set foot inside in the first place. We dined on the the special, a sirloin; both were sent back for continued cooking. Med-rare was served rare, med. was also served rare. The table adjacent to us received an incorrect order. The server was pleasant and professional in his attempts to rectify the situation, but he was instructed by management to offer a replacement, but not compensation, he offered to fetch the manager, and the diners accepted, but he returned without management, they didn't want to show, or were to busy to care."

  • "I was not pleased with the level of service. Several waiters walked by me and my date without saying hi or asking if we had been helped. After finally being seated, we had to wait an extremely long time before our orders were taken. Keep in mind, the restaurant was not packed at the time we went. Once my food was served I asked the waiter to bring extra napkins and some ketchup over. I didn't see my waiter again until he brought us our ticket. Needless to say the only tip I left was "Better Svc Time" on the bottom of my receipt."

  • "The Back Country Brewery is a convenient place to eat in Breckenridge. We made reservations for a group of 11 through Open Table several days in advance. When we got there on a Friday at 1130, the place was almost empty. We were seated immediately and then proceeded to wait and wait. It took about an hour and a half to have lunch because there was only one server. We were a little disappointed since we had phoned ahead and they should have been better prepared. However, that said, the food was plentiful and very good. Our choices ranged all over the map - from burgers to fish tacos to soup. All came out hot and fresh and delicious. Overall a good, if lengthy, experience."
