- Unsure what to think!OpenTable Diner Since 2010Dined on 10/18/2014This place could be great, as it is, it's "ok". Interior very dark, reminded me of a 70's/80's disco club with low lighting and neon lights for accents. We were there on Sweetest Day (coincidence as we were actually celebrating a birthday) & barely any tables in. Maybe 5 total by the time we left at 8 o clock. Service was pretty good once it got going. The first few minutes we had no fewer than 4 people stop by our table to tell us our server would be right with us! But once Amy (server) came over it was smooth sailing. It is set up as a 4/5 course meal (depending upon dessert). Anti pasta was delicious, Lobster ravioli was outstanding. Both steaks were overcooked from temp ordered (mediums came out almost well done) but still tasted good.

Last year on our annual trip through the area we ate at Zinc and it was much, much better. The two restaurants are not even in the same class. I believe Baci must be padding or otherwise influencing reviews. My salad was okay but nothing special and the gnocchi was drowned in lukewarm pay l pasty Alfredo sauce. The portion was large enough for three people but about as good as a frozen dinner. My wife's veal was better but not by much and her asparagus was greasy and poorly seasoned.

Wonderful service, terrific food; you wouldn't know it was there just driving by so it is a true hidden gem. Connected to a Comfort Inn on Route 250. In and out in one hour even though there main service is a 5 course meal. Antipasta plate, sample pasta plate, salad, bread, and an entree. I know this was an Italian restaurant but I ordered the yellow lake perch and have to say that the chef prepared it perfectly. I took a chance, being so close to the lake, and was not disappointed. We live an hour away but wouldn't hesitate to drive an hour for dinner here!Special Features:

- 4 stars??????Momof3Dined on 6/24/2014This restaurant was rated highly on another site. Yikes!!!! That is why we booked the table. We had a comedy routine play out with poor service from 3 different people. We absolutely didn't need a reservation. No one was there at 7PM on a Tuesday. The waiter/bar tender encouraged us to order "off menu" if we wanted to add/subtract items to our meals. This ended up totally screwed up. We didn't say anything. The food tasted good enough but they so didn't have their act together. The bar tender was only one who seemed to be able to wait on us. Ironically, the bar was the busiest part of this establishment.

The second trip was a saturday nite 6pm reservations and 80% of the tables were full. ONE waiter for the entire resurant, needless to say service was less then desirable. Never came back to table for drink orders. Surely an upscale restaurant like Baci could afford and find more than one server. They lost probably $50+ in drink orders on our 4 top alone. As bad as the service was I will return for the food quality. Best rack of lamb I ever had.Special Features:

It was graciously replaced. Our salad arrived with many brown edges. Next was an appetizer, which was tasty and had one tiny piece of lobster in it. The bread was good. I ordered mostaccioli. It was fine, but nothing special. My husband ordered steak. It was not tasty, just okay. This restaurant is rated in the top, but we saw nothing special about it. We would not recommend it, nor would we return. This was not a good experience.

Both times we have visited with other guests and all of us agree that the food, service and atmosphere truly lend themselves to a great dining experience. Although some may feel that it may be a bit "pricey", the entire dining experience is well worth the price and actually what we consider a bargain. Although the menu is not huge, everything that was sampled was very well prepared.Special Features:

Our waiter was also the bar tender and I counted one bus boy. Although I live in Lorain I have traveled the world during my 40 year business career and have entertained at thousands of restaurants. Normaly we go to Cleveland but Ive eaten at all of them. So we thought we'd try going west. Food was above average, wine list and availability was lacking price was fair. The salads were nutritious and fresh, most enjoyable. The pasta dishes came with a large serving of pasta and an abundance of sauce. What lacked was the judgement between quantity and quality. The servings are more appropriate for an adolescent wanting to fill up, rather than someone out to savour good food. The lobster was dry. The evening ended with coffees- lattes were ordered, but once again they did not live up to Italian standards. Based on the pricing, I would have expected far more from this place.The service however, was excellent and the martinis highly recommended.Special Features:

Only thing that was a little off was the atmosphere. The decor seemed to be a hodge podge of different themes with a lot of clutter. Wait staff should know the menu up and down and have tasted most everything on the menu in a nicer place such as this. All of the staff were very nice. The impression I have is that the chef is excellent, and therefore the offerings are amazing, but the ins and outs of the business need someone more qualified. The menu contained several typos. If you have errands to run do them before dinner as your 'experience' will last 2 1/2 to 3 hours and you will be too full to even think about shopping. It's a unique experience-from the personal service to the multiple courses to the presentation of the 'menu' (won't spoil it for you)and last but not least--to the lobster tail! I believe they said it was from S. Africa. They serve the largest lobster tail I have ever had and it is wonderful! My only negative critique: while the seafood is fresh and wonderful I'm not as impressed with their steaks. They are very good but not the quality they used to be. We had a steak which came with one red skin cut in four slices and still not sure what the vegetable was. The over all feeling was that they had run out of food so they reheated the left overs. It was especially bad since I think the guy in the next booth was a LOUD talker. When he was quiet I could hear the couple two booths away. I would say accustics are an issue. Our waitress was wonderful, the chef even offered foods that weren't on the menu. He was offering variations on listed dishes which we ended up trying. My husband had a veal chop, butterflied and then prepared as veal piccata. I had lobster, scallops and shrimp which was an amazing dish. LOVED IT.
