  • "Not your usual Mexican food, no comparison. Asado is to Tacoma what Rick Bayless is to Chicago."

  • "Enjoyed the setting and ambiance. Service was very good. Flat iron steak and skirt steak was not so good even though it was presented well. Other menu entrees sounded good. Maybe another visit will be better."

  • "Asado has the best burger dip around. Ground sirloin, chorizo, bacon leek slaw and Beechers cheese. I can never order anything else, I love it so much. Also, can't forget the Diablo. A habanero infused vodka martini. YUM"

  • "My husband and two grown daughters dined at Asado's to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday on March 14th. The food was wonderful but the service was disappointing at best. Our server had the personality of a "rock". She appeared to be completely unfamiliar with the different meat cuts and was unable to answer simple questions regarding your menu. We received answers like "the flat iron steak is just thinner" .She never smiled nor did she ever address anyone individually, for example...."Happy Birthday""

  • "This was my second dining experience with Asado's. I will return again and again. The food is outstanding and so is the service. The portion size is more than enough and the presentation is outstanding. The food is very flavorful and above my expectations. The ease of online booking is great. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends."

  • "Though the food was a bit pricey, the quality and variety of the entrees made it worth the cost. I had the Quinoa Salad, which had a little bit of everything in it (sausage, chicken kebab, shrimp, etc.) and was delicious."

  • "I chided my neighbor for not telling me about this long ago. When we finished with our meal, I was sad to go yet contemplated finding a corner to sack out in and wake up for breakfast there. That should sum it up."

  • "One of my husbands biggest peeves is when he asks where I want to go out and I never pick. Well this time I surprised him and after him being gone on business for 2 weeks he said we were going to have a date night and wanted me to pick a place, so I did. After going on line I found Asado's. We had a great meal, the waitress was amazing and my husband said this was the best place we had gone to in a year. Now my husband thinks I rock !! Love this place and we can't wait to go back again."

  • "A wonderful spot for a late lunch during the week....not crowded, deliciously interesting choices of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, grilled combos, and quinoa bowls....you can pretty much have it any way you like it! If you can forgo purple potatoes or poblanos, definitely choose the lentils for your side as they are unique and so flavorfully prepared with just the right zip."

  • "Asado had great selections and it smelled great even before walking through the door. Crowded - a good sign! A bit noisy - wouldn't recommend for a quiet, intimate evening, but great food & knowledgable servers a definite plus!"

  • "Every year we pick a place we've never been for our anniversary and this year I picked Asado, which was my second choice last year but Im glad we finally went here. Their ribeye steaks was amazing, we both had the same meal and it was cooked to perfection. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. It's very tight in there and thats my only complaint,I didnt feel like we had enough room to move around.Aside from that it was a memorable and great place for a nice romantic get together."

  • "My husband, who is Chilean, and I love this place because it reminds us of family owned restaurants in the wine countries of Chile and Argentina. Rustic atmosphere but exquisitely simple and authentic dishes. Go for steak. I always have a glass of Barrica, a great Spanish red. You can dress like you're from the neighborhood. Price is average."

  • "As always, we were greeted like old friends, seated quickly, given drink ideas, appetizer ordered and the night was off to a perfect start. We enjoyed a salad with our wine, entrees arrived and the wine opened up more. We had our favorite server, although I recommend either Kate, Cristy, or Ben, Kate rocks! The food met all expectations, as it always does. Dessert was a great treat and I find myself writing another great review for a great place... Erything else was perfect. Thank you John, Kate, and the rest of the team."

  • "I took my sister here for her birthday. It was our first time eating Argentinian food. The food was creative and delicious. My sister literally cleaned her plate plus dessert. They do justice to Latin food while making a gringo understand what they are eating. I highly recommend this restaurant for a glorious eating experience."

  • "We found this last December and had been waiting to get a chance to go back, so glad we did. The food was just like we remembered, excellent. From our appetizer to our desert, everything tasted great. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We went to Asado's for our 22nd wedding anniversary with another couple for the first time and had a wonderful time. The food was fabulous and the service was awesome. I went to work on Monday and raved to everyone. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will be back very soon."

  • "It was our first time and our 9th wedding anniversary. We ask for a quant table; we where seated next to a drafty roll up door next to the bar; our waitress was nice but not a task oriented person; I ordered the Veuve Clicquot; it is VERY loud in Asado and disorientating; after 15 minutes of searching we were brought some generic California Chardonnay...close, not really. So we skipped the champagne and ordered what ever the "wine guy" recommended...generic California Pinot. The food was ok; quality was not relative to price; my wife's frenched ribeye was maybe Select Grade, tough and loaded with fat and the lamb shank that was recommended was slightly better than what Grandma made as a kid. A Tacoma 4 star restaurant is a Seattle 2."

  • "If you have never been to Asado than you have never experienced some of the most flavorful food to ever touch your mouth. There is nothing on the menu to call mediocre and to top it off the wait staff is incredible! Make your reservation early as the place fills up fast and there is not much or a waiting area if the bar is full which is generally the case on Friday and Saturday nights. great atmosphere, great staff and Amazing food!"

  • "If you like really good ethnic food and meat falls in your "I like" category, this is a great venue for you. This was my second meal here in less than a week and it delivered as well as the first time."

  • "Everytime I am in Washington I have dinner at Asado. The many people I have brought here for dinner agree this is the top restaurant choice in Tacoma. I've had steak, fish and vegetarian meals and never disapointed. Great wine choices and they know just how to pick them for your tastes. Their service is fantastic. Hanna is always on top of things for us."

  • "This restaurant is a do not miss. The lamb shank is unbelievable, but you need to reserve it when you make your reservation because they run out every night. Steaks are perfectly cooked, and the wine list is exceptional, but not inexpensive. Asado’s is always on my list when I travel to Tacoma."

  • "we enjoyed our meal. it was first time to Asado as we celebrated our 28th anniversary here. we both had a steak. good flavor. we plan to return to try other menu items. did not get the wait person's name but she was very attentive to our table and to those around us."

  • "Great food, and I am picky. I had the Mixta plate (skirt steak, shrimp & chorizo) with quinoa. The steak and shrimp were very good, the chorizo was just what I wanted, spicy and nicely textured. The quinoa side is what a side should be: not mushy and excellently flavored. The only gripe I have is that I made a reservation fully a week in advance, but they put us right at the entrance where the foot traffic was considerable. But, it did not make a lot of difference with the great food and competent service. I have another reservation for tomorrow and I can't wait!"

  • "I had the ribeye which tasted great, but for the price could have been thicker. Wife had tenderloin (lomo) which was great. The sides were great. Cons: was not offered more bread. only got 3 small pieces to start. Only when we were almost done, did we seen a couple of other tables offered more bread. I guess we should have asked. A little less butter, or at least more bread to soak it up. Was not busy, so that can't be used as an excuse."

  • "One month ago food was terrific This time it was poor. We had to send back our appetizer and our salads. The side dishes purple potatoes were hard-to-find such a small amount. I guess it depends on the chef but if the chef is bad the price is still remain the same. Probably won't go back for quite a long time."

  • "Yikes, it was an enjoyable experience. Yikes it was expensive. Expensive will regulate my frequency of enjoyment. Highly recommend it, but save up.......or make sure your plastic is solvent. THE FOOD WAS SUPERB, so worth the $$$ on this occasion."

  • "I made a reservation at 8:30 pm on sunday night because there was no availability. However, we arrived one hour early, so we can sit at bar for our turn. The table was ready in 15 minutes. Also, there were four-five tables were not occupied at that time. That made me little bit upset becasue we could come earlier to have a table. Food was good, but the steak was not cooked as we asked. We asked for medium, but it was almost well-done. The seabass was excellent."

  • "We've been meaning to go to Asado for a long time. We've eaten at its sister restaurant Masa several times and always enjoyed, so we were eager to try Asado. It didn't disappoint. My wife and I shared our entrees (filet and mahi-mahi) and both were excellent. We'll be back and will definitely recommend it to our friends."
