A modern take on the classic American steakhouse, Arroyo Chop House is one of only a few restaurants in Southern California that serves exclusively USDA Prime beef. This strikingly handsome restaurant, inspired by the Arts & Crafts architectural style for which Pasadena is famous, is clad in rich mahogany and the cozy booths are bathed in seductive light.

Our steaks are aged and hand cut daily and then perfectly seared in a 1,500 degree oven. Traditional steakhouse side dishes include creamed spinach, baked potatoes, asparagus spears with hollandaise sauce, and Arroyo Chop House's famous onion rings. We also offer live Maine lobster and fresh fish, Alaskan King Crab legs, fresh oysters, and shrimp. Compliment your meal with a bottle from our award-winning wine list and finish the night with one of our delicious desserts such as a Grand Marnier soufflé, warm apple pie, butterscotch pudding or chocolate pecan pie.

  • "Complimentary valet parking as you dive into parking lot. Hostess greeted us as we arrived and walked us to our table. We asked for outside dining area which they was very accommodating. We ordered Remy XO cocktails to start with some bubbles. The bacon wrapped scallop and jumbo shrimp appetizers were awesome. The salads were generous portion. Even though we were kind of full, we could not resist the melt in your mouth cowboy ribeye steaks. Great overall experience!!! "

  • "This is my favorite restaurant in Pasadena, their food is second to none. However they are really starting to disappoint me with their service. My wife and I went with some friends for my birthday in Feb. We had a reservation. We arrived 15 min. early, but checked in at the front. It was an hour and twenty until we were seated. At a nice restaurant you shouldn't have to leave your bar conversation every 20 minutes to go check on your table. By the time we were seated my friends were starving and I was embarrassed. This last visit, my wife and I waited 50 minutes between salad and entree. Our waitress was busy making something table side for someone else and probably forgot to signal the kitchen we were ready for our entree. Ridiculous."

  • "To celebrate a successful negotiation which took almost 2 years, I took my team out to dinner at the Chop House. I have only eaten here one time before but I really enjoyed it. Oysters to start with wonderful sourdough bread. For dinner Ceaser salad, NY steak and the best Crab legs. I had the Mac and Cheese side with creamed Spinach. Oh it was so wonderful! Chocolate soufflé for desert. This is an excellent restaurant."

  • "We had been to the Arroyo Chop House a long time ago. We remembered how wonderful they treated us and decided to go again for our 16th wedding anniversary. They did not disappoint us, they treated us like a king and queen. There were flowers on the table with an anniversary card and they sat us in front of the fireplace. The food was incredible, we ordered the porterhouse and halibut fillet. DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everything was perfect. The service was fantastic and we had a great night. Thanks so much for making our 16th anniversary very special. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Hadn't been to the chop house in a long but decided to take my husband here for his birthday because we had a gift certificate. We had a really memorable dinner, steak incredibly tasty and tender, fries that were crisp and hot, sumptuous caramelized corn and completed by a chocolate soufflé . This was a great dinner, but it was the service that put it over the top. Go! Just go!"

  • "I heard the man sitting next to us say it was his birthday and I leaned over and told him it was my birthday too! No one told our waiter that we were there celebrating my b-day and after we finished our meal he brought a dish of ice cream with a cookie and sang the birthday song to me. Our waiter had heard me speaking with the couple next to us and took it upon himself to surprise me with the gift. The staff at Arroyo Chop House is TOP NOTCH!! Can't wait to return"

  • "Top notch service and food at this restaurant. Arrived on a Tuesday night around 7PM with a party of 3. Hostess was attentive, quick, efficient (and a cutie). Our waiter came quickly to offer bread & beverages - he also unloaded a smorgasbord of daily special items that were not listed on the menu. We had the Cowboy Ribeye, Filet Mignon, and Double cut Lamp Chops - all medium rare. All came to almost perfect doneness. All 3 dishes were succulent, buttery soft, and absolutely delicious. Sauces are served on the side. The souffle for dessert was OK - tasted like a regular chocolate cake. Noise level can get pretty loud - lighting is a little too dim for my taste - Overall: A great place to have a fantastically superb steak!"

  • "This is our third time at Arroyo Chophouse and it did not disappoint. We arrived early and they took us within a few minutes. The service is good and our food was delicious. I ordered the bone-in filet and it was simply wonderful. We also have gotten hooked on their Sea of Cortez drinks.... so good. We even made room for their Grand Marnier Soufflet which you need to order at the time you order your dinner - it is so good! We practically rolled out of there so full and even had leftovers! I highly recommend this restaurant."

That was special, and this is why we love coming here. The steak is prepared perfectly, and the side dishes of asparagus and potatoes were well prepared. The dessert was the Grand Marnier soufflé and it was delicious."

  • "The service was not up to par. The servers were anxious to get you in and out fast. It was not enjoyable. The server recommended the prime rib. It was too tough and really not the greates for the price. But our dogs enjoyed it when we took most of it home. I use to love chop house and parkway but laterly they have gone down in service and quality. Too sad, too bad."

  • "My boyfriend and I eat here about every 3 months and it is always a fabulous experience. The last time we went was for Christmas Eve and this time was for our anniversary. And as always- everything was TOP NOTCH!!! Outstanding service from start to finish- my lobster tail was melt-in-your-mouth. We had a few appetizers that were good - the steak tartar is a bit spicier than I would like but my boyfriend loved it (the meat is also top notch). All the side dishes were cooked to perfection and done with my additions I asked for. I love this place and it is worth every penny spent- pricey but well-worth it! THANK YOU to the manager and chef and waitresses and waiters here- Fabulous just Fabulous!"

  • "One should not go to a chop house to order fish. However, even though the fish selection was limited, the scallops wrapped with pancetta was a great appetizer and the pan seared salmon was cooked to order and was excellent. My rib eye was cooked perfectly, more than ample in size and both meals were served with the right amount of well prepared vegetables. Totally unnecessary, but it was a celebration, were the scalloped potatoes and asparagus, leaving just enough room a shared butterscotch pudding for desert. The only downside was the first choice of wine was no longer carried, although still on the wine list. The second choice was about the same price and tasted equally good."

We weren't impressed with the wine list & the salads were nothing special (beets & pear ... chopped iceberg). The cocktails were exceptional & our service was as well. We'd come back but choose more carefully as it is an expensive meal."

  • "If there is ever a test of a good restaurant it is when they have to perform for holiday, and particularly Valentine's Day. Our dinner came off without a hitch. Our waiter, Lencho, was friendly and knowledgeable. Our food was prepared exactly as ordered and arrived on time. The restaurant was very busy but one never got that feeling as the entire wait staff, including bussers, runners and waiters were on their dime. A nice touch at the end of the dinner was a red rose for all the ladies. A most enjoyable evening!!"

  • "Great for a special occasion. I would rank it up there with my experiences at Morton's, Mastro's, Lawry's, etc. My porterhouse was cooked to perfection. Perhaps amusingly, my wife and I enjoyed the creamy mac and cheese with ham most of all. The setting is traditional steakhouse, with low lighting and big comfy leather booths, but without being dated. Service was fairly prompt, though there was a little bit of a lag between our appetizers and our entrees. I would most definitely repeat!"

  • "The Arroyo Chop house is what I would call a real gem. This my 10th time dining there and I have never been dissapointed. I went with a friend & we had the porterhouse for two. It was cooked to perfection. My friend likes her meat more rare than I do and I was amazed at how they were able to cook it to both of our likings. The service is impeccable. You feel like a VIP everytime. Bar and wine list are most impressive. For desert yu must have the grand marinier souffle. I have never tasted better. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it in quality, taste and service. I plan to return every chance i get."
