"Argyle is great - but very, very pricey. It's definitely the best steakhouse in North County but the service is not quite as adept as it should be (good, but not in line with the prices) and the atmosphere is generic hotel at best. But the food was great. An ahi poke was more like a tartare, but still fantastic. As was a warm spinach salad with strawberries (still thinking about that salad..) and the flat iron steak and salmon entrees were both really, really good. They are, however, lacking some standout, powerhouse red wines by the glass. (Which is a big miss for a steakhouse!) But I still highly recommend it for the good food - and the fact that there is nothing like it elsewhere in North County."

"Honestly, I was not really that impressed with my dinner for what it cost. The kobe beef was fatty and charred on the outside, but cooked to order on the inside. The carrot soup was fantastic though. The service was excellent, but I expect nothing less at this level of fine dining. I made sure to dress business casual for the occasion as stated on their website, but clearly this is really a SoCal hotel restaurant with other guests dressed in jeans and kids with bathing suits under their clothes. Don't think we will be back as there are other fine dining steakhouses in the area with better food and ambiance IMO."

"We love to have a steak at Fleming's, Donovan's and Ruth's Chris, but the steaks here are just as good or better. The dining area is quiet, which can be hard to find in today's restaurants, the service was excellent, and the prices are competitive. Highly recommended for an enjoyable evening."

"We were overall unimpressed with the argyle. We made reservations for 6pm and were told upon arriving that they were not seating for 15 mins. We had to sit in the lounge and have a drink first, with our teenage daughters. The table next to us us was loud, they were a party of 6. 4 adults and 2 young boys, they were the quiet ones! The celeriac soup was bland and lukewarm. Caesar salad was very good. Menu had no decent veggie options. Prices were astounding for just average steak. My husband loved his tbone. The chicken was very juicy, and could have been cooked longer. The mushrooms we're icky, the lobster macncheese was in a thin white sauce. Popovers absolutely amazing!! Mashed potatoes best ever! Very attentive service!"

"Went to Argyle on a living social voucher. Wine was excellent, the celersomething soup was very rich and had an excellent and unique taste. Spinach salad was also flavorful and rich. Not impressed with the cut of beef, it seemed rather low quality for the price they "would have" charged, and wasn't a fan of the flavor. Cooked perfectly though (med rare). Nice relaxing ambiance, and the waitstaff was very good. Popovers were HUGE!"

"Ordered Lamb shank, bad idea , it was served almost cold/ but we did not had time to send it back and wait for another 1h 30 minutes as it took first time / , as it is precooked
Beef tenderloin Carpaccio/ had 100 of times in different restaurants / had a Tabasco on it without mentioning on a menu, never heard Tabasco on that type of meat? as you should be tasting meat flavor ....???
Pretty bad experience , service is very slow, took for ever to get a main course , even my dish was precooked a day before ....."

"Amazing! Best steak I have had. ever.. Worth 2 of every dollar I spent on it. Great menu set up. Friendly and attentive They really made me and my date feel like royalty."
