Welcome to Aragosta Bar and Bistro, the latest addition to Boston’s vibrant Waterfront dining scene. Located on Boston’s Harbor Walk in the North End, Aragosta offers a warm, social atmosphere in a stunning Waterfront setting, featuring an open kitchen with Chef’s Counter and an outdoor terrace with views of Boston Harbor and the U.S. Coast Guard.

With influences from Marseille to Genoa, the contemporary Italian cuisine gives signature flair to hand-made pastas, prime meats and New England seafood, using quality, local farm-raised ingredients.

Manager could definitely sense our dissatisfaction and entire meal ended up being on-the-house because of the slow service (which seemed kitchen related). Walk up Hanover into the North End ......"

  • "I had purchased a lunch on LivingSocial at Aragosta, located along the wharf in the North End, next to the Coast Guard. A very good glass of Italian white "Aragosta" and tasty Caesar salad with lobster made for a delicious lunch. While I've not yet tasted enough for a fair review, Aragosta's relaxed, elegant ambience, professional and personalized service, and interesting culinary details make it a place I'd like to go back to and recommend. Croutons were home-made with focacia bread; stemless water glasses, handmade in Italy featured floating shapes of white and either orange or green on the clear thick glass, and patterned white napkins by Frette could catch any crumbs that may have dropped off your fork. (Located at end of Hanover St.)"

  • "I have eaten at Aragosta about 10 times now and have never been disappointed. Without a doubt this is one of Boston's best restaurants, if not the best. The food is spectacular, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is great. Make sure to order the flatbread or gnocchi appetizer and ask your waiter what they recommend for your entree (the duck and risotto are always good). In the summer they have amazing outdoor seating, but their indoor seating is good as well. I would recommend Aragosta to anyone and I make it a point to take anyone visiting Boston here. I will be returning many more times!"

The bar service was impeccable as both Pat and Joe charmed us with their wit while being very attentive to our requests. In addition, Chefs Richard and Donna WOWED us with a tasting that had one delicious entree after another. I highly recommend this establishment and will continue to visit Aragosta Bar and Bistro!"

  • "Ate here as part of Dine Out Boston. We took the prix fixe menu with wine pairings and were surprised to be offered options as we feel that the pairings should be the choice of the chef and sommelier. The lighting was terrible and cast a green hue over the food, I commented to the waiter that I had never seen a pea-colored lobster bisque before.He assured me that it was the normal rose colored liquid in the kitchen! The sea-bass on a bed of couscous was very tasty, if a little salty. The Amish chicken was ordinary but served with a sauce that overwhelmed the chicken."

The ambience is delightful & in the summer it's a wonderful hotspot in the north end without being in the hustle & bustle of the north end. Great. Place for a second date if the first didn't impress. Not an excellent pour on the wines unfortunately :-( The seating area around the light jazz fair is very relaxing......."

  • "We live next door to Aragosta but never think to pop into the hotel for breakfast. This past Sunday we had company in town and decided to check it out. The menu, service and quality are all excellent. From the fresh scones, to the great cocktails and the entrees, we loved it all. We had the crepes, Coast Guard omelette and ultimate eggs benedict (which may only be a restaurant week offering). They were all fantastic. My one complaint is the indoor ambiance. You feel like your sitting in a hotel. However, Aragosta has a beautiful patio so once the weather warms up, we'll be back for some harborside dining."

  • "I went to Aragosta with a friend, sat at the Chef's counter and the experience was amazing! The food was very delicious and cooked perfectly. The ambiance was great for a Friday evening, and being tucked in the North End Waterfront made it secluded but not out of the way. In addition to all of this, Chef Graham was amazing. He was at the counter and took the time to explain our courses, what goes into them, why, how they work well together. It was a complete joy. Thank you for a wonderful experience."

  • "My boyfriend took me here to celebrate our anniversary!! We started off with the lobster bisque and the oysters and then shared the scallops and ribeye. Everything was cooked to perfection!! And you cannot beat the view of the water!! I'm not sure if it was planned in advance, but the Chef came over after the meal and introduced himself, he brought us over some champagne and congratulated us on our anniversary. It was such a nice touch and a sweet gesture that Graham was able to find time out of what I would imagine to have been a VERY busy service to ask us about our meal and wish us luck in what I hope is a very long future together! It was that attention to detail and truly going above and beyond that made it such a special night!"

  • "My dinner at Aragosta was fantastic! They were very accommodating of my party being a half hour late, and they even found a seat for us at the Chef's Counter like we had requested. The team was great. They fed us the delicious beet and burrata salad, gnocchi with different preparations for both myself and my friend to address each of our preferences (the gnocchi with bolognaise was insane - best thing I've had in a restaurant in recent memory), and then we had a tasting of dessert. Pro Tip: try the donuts! The portions were generous, and the experience was made so special by the chefs. Chef Graham Lockwood has made this already great restaurant unbelievable. He is a sure talent with a love for food that shows!"

  • "There were a few issues. The first course was a crostini and the bread was rock solid, impossible to bite. The second and third courses were ok. The dessert was a creme brulee and the sugar topping was way too thick. The biggest problem was the lighting. It gave everyone the look of a disease; absolutely horrible. You couldn't even tell what the food in actuality was. Strawberries were pale yellow; lobster bisque was pale green. It was THE WORST lighting imaginable for a restaurant. Even using a promotional coupon, it was over-priced."

  • "The Valentines day preset menu was not what we had wanted and the wonderful waiter got us the regular menu and we were able to order off of this. The surf and turf was OK for the $$ not worth it the lobster tail was cold. Hated to ask them to reheat lobster could result in even worse. Scallops were tasty. The valentines cocktails were good. I would come back on a warmer time and not on a holiday to use the firepits to make smores."

  • "When we arrived it was absolutely beautiful. However, our mood changed after we met the hostess. We weren't greeted & had to approach her. Reservations were made for 830 and we arrived at 825. She asked us if we wanted to be seated now for wait for our time. I've never been asked that question before and thought it was rather strange. We were shown our table they handed us one prix fixe menu. Unfortunately they neglected to say there was only a prix fixe menu for the evening and my date was allergic to almost everything.We asked if there might be a different menu and was handed a bar menu. The wait staffed acted as if we were below them and how dare we ask for another menu. Needless to say, we left and found a much nicer restaurant."

  • "I went to aragosta the other night with one of my girl friends. We decided to sit at the chef's counter because it offered us a unique experience. Donna was working that night and kept us full and entertained. We had oysters, the lobster bisque and the duck. Everything was incredible!! The lobster bisque came with a lobster ravioli. But my favorite has to be the duck!! It was cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend aragosta for a night out with amazing food and great service!"

  • "I purchased a Travelzoo deal for Fondue and Smores for my friend's birthday. I made a reservation through opentable on Monday for a Friday reservation. In the reserviation, I specified that I had a travelzoo deal and wanted to be seated on the terrace. I received a call THURSDAY night before the reservation and was told I couldn't be accomodated. My Friday night plans for my friends birthday were ruined as I did not have enough time to organize other plans with so little notice. The deal was due to expire at the end of January so I made a reservation for two weeks later. The terrace was freezing! Insufficient heating units. The advertised deal said pay $49 for a $90 value but fondue and smores was only $74!! So disappointed."

  • "We loved our dinner at Aragosta last weekend. The food is amazing, the service first rate, and being right on the water is awesome. This is the first time we have visited for dinner in the winter time as we love the patio so we usually just go in the warm weather. It is great inside as well. It is on the high end for cost so it is certainly more of a special occasion place for us. The quality of the food does match the price though so at least you get your money's worth. We were bummed it was raining that night as we would have loved to have some s'mores on the patio. We love this place and will definitely be back!"

  • "We returned to Aragosta after being impressed with the restaurant when we visited during Restaurant Week in August 2013. The quality of the overall experience compared well with that previous experience. The quality of the food and service was very good. It was the Saturday night after New Year, so the restaurant was pretty quiet, which helped make it a very pleasant evening. They had a good number of people taking advantage of their outdoor "fire pit" dining option, despite the cold, seasonal temperatures. Looked like an "apres' ski" party, without the skiing."

Little care seemed to be given to presentation as the bread was ripped into tatters and lost into the fondue pot. If only it could have matched the ambiance and service."

  • "Reserved the Chef's Table Dinner for 2 on my girlfriend's birthday and it was our first time sitting at a Chef's Table. Sous Chef Ralph was friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. He and everyone we interacted with made sure we had a great meal and made many fine suggestions for course and wine pairings. All of the ingredients and preparation methods were explained to us and made the meal a one of a kind restaurant experience. The lobster bisque, potato gnocchi, and frites were great. The Bolognese dish was phenomenal and was the highlight of our meal. We highly recommend the Chef's Table experience and we will be returning to this North End spot in the future."

  • "We booked dinner at Aragosta because we were staying at the Fairmont Battery Wharf and it seemed that they could accommodate a fairly restrictive diet: plant-based with no oil, that my husband and I adhere to for health reasons. What a wonderful surprise to gave such a delicious meal - from a delicious, complex beet salad, to a mixed green salad ( NOT iceberg lettuce!) to a risotto with apples, mushrooms and squash that was absolutely fantastic. We're so often restricted to having to make do. At Aragosta we got to enjoy a genuinely lovely meal prepared by chefs who clearly know how to create.we also had professional service in every sense of the word. It was by far our best meal in a four-day trip to Boston."

  • "Dined at Aragosta many times at our favorite seats at the Chef's Counter. This time we hosted a party of 18 celebrating our 45th anniversary. Perfection! This describes ambiance, food, and service. Scrumptious food prepared & dished with precision and care. 18 entries served at the same time; no small feat! Wine selection enhanced the dining experience. Service unmatched anywhere! We were fortunate to have Ned tend to our pre-dinner drinks and Aldo quietly, efficiently, and expertly tend to the needs of all our guests. Seated in the semi-prive area, the feel of home in an exquisitely maintained dining room. Aragosta caters to their guests whatever the occasion. Head to Battery Wharf when looking for a casual evening out or to celebrate."

  • "For better or worse, this hotel restaurant has a distinctly European flair. As a part of the Fairmont family, it shouldn't be surprising but it was. The standout was the staff who were knowledgable, gave us great recommendations, and were neither invisible or over-bearing during our meal. The wine list is very good and the prices are relatively reasonable. We went in an October evening early, and while it was dead when we arrived, the place was humming when we left. It's more of a late night (see the above European comment) scene than the, "we have a babysitter and need our sleep" kinda place. Want to get away from Boston without leaving the city limits? This is the place."

  • "I cannot believe how tasty the food was in this North End hotel restaurant. It's actually the best Italian food I've had in Boston period. The gnocchi is to die for, and even though I'm still full from my dinner tonight, my mouth is watering from just thinking about the bolognese and the spaghetti with clams and the risotto. We sat outside on a warm end of summer evening, and enjoyed the harbor views and the people-watching along with a lovely meal and the always-exceptional service. A new chef meant that our favorite mission fig appetizer was gone, but our choices from the new menu were wonderful, and Dan, our server, provided a welcome continuity. We will return!"

  • "The food at Aragosta is the best there is in the North End. My group tried many dishes from their menu and absolutely every dish was made perfectly. Some highlights include the “beef two ways” which is a fantastic dish of short ribs and smashed potatoes underneath a generous portion of steak and served with heritage vegetables. The scallops were perfectly seared and succulent. And the gnocchi was the best I have ever had. I want to sit at the chef’s counter next time to see how they make them. The service was spot on, too, despite it being very busy when we were there. I would return to Aragosta for any occasion."
