Diner Reviews
  • "Over all an exceptional experience. We had several small children and were placed in an area that would not disrupt other patrons. the food was outstanding as was the service. Have been here several times and have found the food and servcie to be always very good."

  • "Great place to try different beers - their own - and have great food. The view is awesome as well. "

  • "I can't say enough about how grateful I am that the Brewhouse accommodated me and my party after a reservation snafu. A gentleman there, I believe his name is Roger, ensured that we were taken care of with a smile and a handshake. The drinks were great, the service impeccable (had a wonderful waitress who said she was only there 2 days, she was fantastic!) and I couldn't have asked for a better night out for my birthday with all of my friends. Thank you Amsterdam Brewhouse for making my Birthday a night to remember!"

  • "I made a reservation to ensure a short wait for dinner and to hopefully ensure the nice view that is supposed to be seen from the restaurant - instead we were sat in the back corner by the door entrance. Not what I was thinking for the evening. Service was alright, and food was alright. But there are many choices for after activity dinners in Toronto, especially if you don't get the waterfront view."

  • "We have been here a few times and found a consistency of poor service. Servers aren't well trained for busy and stressful nights, and staffing ratios seem low, as there are never enough servers to sections. Food quality is decent for the most part, nice focus of the beers brewed in house. "

  • "Great beer and the food to match! Menus is not too big and not too small, with enough selection. Their beer flights awesome if you're not sure what you like. Service is hit or miss but usually ok... Have always found the hostesses a bit on the rude & inexperienced side though. Could use more training."

  • "Hit the Amsterdam brewhouse before the Jays home opener. A much better experience than the game was. Location can't be beat. Pizzas are great, wings are even better."

  • "Good beer, food is okay. It is pub food so about what I had expected. But for a drink or basic grub it is fine. Waterfront spot is nice which would make it packed in summer."

  • "Fantastic place to bring a group of friends for a casual dinner. Would be an amazing location for summer lunch or dinner. Amazing choice of beers."

  • "Went here with our family group of 8, very lovely building and setting. Food was good, and beers as well. Wait staff very informative and friendly."

  • "always enjoyed Amsterdam - over 20 years -and fo0und this new Lake Ontario HarbourFront location adds real value. Open-ness, light, lakeside ambience and massive interior space just made it fun. Food good as always, brews consistently good and diverse choices recommended for the menu items. But the new space really adds value to the experience. Will be back even more often now."

  • "Absolutely amazing! The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. The 'flight paths' for beers is fun, you can try up to 4 different beers in 5 oz glasses or stick with what you like in a 20 oz glass. Even on a cold day the view of the lake is beautiful. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "I brought a friend there for lunch last week. View was great, we had a table at the end of the restaurant so we had a great view of the waters. Server was nice and asked us for drinks right away. Ordered the chicken lettuce wraps for appetizer, chicken salad for lunch. My friend ordered the flank steak. The lettuce wraps were good, messy but good. The salad was average - nothing amazing but good. My friend's steak was very fatty, she couldn't eat it because it was too fatty so she left it all and just ate the sides which was a shame. When we had to go, it took a long time to find the server and we waited for a while until i tracked her down. Overall the place is nice looking, great view and the food is ok."

  • "I go to a lot of shows at Harbourfront Centre's theatres and this resto is a WELCOME addition to a previous culinary wasteland. Also large enough for groups, the menu notes vegetarian and gluten free options. The beer-flights are fantastic!!"

  • "Had a quiet dinner with two friends. The service was friendly and helpful even though we took a while to decide what to order. Definitely would return."

  • "Great for a date night. Great Food, View and Ambiance. Too bad you couldn't buy all the beer that's on tap to take home."

  • "Decided to try something different before the Sting/Paul Simon concert on Saturday night. Glad we did - lots of tables without the crazy overcrowding and noise you get at other local pre-concert venues. Friendly service and reasonable prices made this very cool bar a must before our next concert - hopefully on the patio. The food was very good & I'd recommend a beer flight to try a few different locals."

  • "Grab a group of friends and head over to this pub for some classic fare. I had the house-made soup (happened to be butternut squash) and the chicken lettuce wraps. Both tasted great. The waitress was a lot of fun too. I will definitely return!"

  • "My boyfriend and I made reservations on Valentines Day for our first visit here. Upon arriving we were sat at a very crowded tabled area where there wasn't much space between tables. We placed our order and our apps arrived. Our server was not very attentive and it was getting increasingly noisy around us. When I read the reviews they all mentioned a spectacular view of the lake, yet we were in a corner and could only see a bar, I eventually got up and asked the host if there was somewhere quieter to sit as it was valentines day and I was looking to enjoy a nice romantic evening. They were quick to move us into the dining room area, with the spectacular view. Our new server was attentive and ensured that the rest of our evening was great."

  • "A friend recommended this place. At first we thought it would be a sports bar based on the name, but it is actually a very ambient space, with terrific food and we had superb service. The dishes were brought out at exactly the right time, did not overlap, and the wine list was excellent. Our server knew his stuff, and the steak tartar was one of the best - done Belgian style with the raw egg yolk. Very much recommended."

  • "Great atmosphere. Tables not too crowded as I have experienced at other brewhouses. Food was fantastic, especially cheese and beer dip that we ordered with pretzel buns.......Tired a flight of beer with some interesting flavours.....overall a great night out."

  • "Burger was very good, did not expect the cold sausage/egg appetizer - think it would have tasted better warm. Swordfish was dry but the chick peas were good. Tried the king & Portland (I think) sampler. Downtown brown was excellent, grapefruit was not... Would have preferred if the live music started after 9, we were still trying to talk (it was close to us). Spot beside the fireplace was awesome though, as was our waitress."

  • "Even though the restaurant is big and open, in the night it has a quaint ambiance, which makes it very romantic. The service was outstanding and clientele was mature trendy. The view overlooking the lake and boardwalk just adds to the screen romanticism. Great place to dine whenever…."

  • "Got there early prior to a Leaf game - perfect time to go as it filled up quickly! Food was great - smaller menu, but something for everyone. Especially liked the wings. can't wait to try the patio in the summer"

  • "Our waitress was amazing, really knew a lot about the in house beers. She was fun and helpful! I also had the opportunity to talk to Felix, one of the managers there. He was giving me some good insight on some of the good cchanges the restaurant will be undertaking in the near future. Recommend this place for anyone!"

  • "Really nice food, interesting beers, absolutely fantastic waiter. Unfortunately the high room was very draughty because of the ceiling fans, ans also (as almost everywhere one goes) the music was overwhelming, so that converstaion was tedious. This plase is better outside in the sumer, because you can get away from the loudspeakers"

  • "Construction along Queen's Quay makes access and finding parking a bit of a hassle at the moment, but the place is bright and open. Went for lunch had the burgers which were great. Staff were very friendly and helpful"

  • "This is a wonderful spot for before or after Harbourfront entertainment, offering a well priced and varied menu and great beer selection. Tables by the fireplace or the windows in winter are very cozy and have a fantastic view! If I didn't have a show to get to I might have stayed all night with my husband and University aged kids! We will definitely be back!"

  • "Loved the location...right on the water. Our server was fun and very attentive and knew the menu well. Thought our arrival at the front desk could be a little more efficient."

  • "Our group went during a time where it was relatively empty. I found the service to be quite slow. Great list of beers though, which would make me ignore the slow service and return again."

  • "Great selection of local craft brews. Try a flight of them. Chicken Schnitzel and Short ribs were fantastic my only complaint is they were small for the price."

  • "We were a party of 4 last Wed night; pleasantly surprised to see the no. of patrons because Amsterdam is huge, tucked away and not too accessible - Queens Quay is shut down to one-way due to construction & no parking on premises (closest underground parking is at Radisson Hotel). Stunning renovation of the previous Pier 4 Restaurant, now transformed into a modern gastropub with brewing and store on premise. Beer selections were vast and fresh. Waitress unfamiliar with cocktails. Menu design well thought-out with beer pairings. Chili-rubbed flat iron steak was spiced nicely, served on a bed of creamy grits. Beef-Dip sandwich also didn't disappoint. Thumbs-up for ice-cream sliders and vanilla creme brulee. Food price point a bit high."

  • "Great restaurant and location. The staff seemed a little disorganized though - we had a reservation and waited at least 10 minutes for our table. Once we were seated it took our server over 15 minutes to come to our table and acknowledge us - when she did she only left menus and said she would be back to take our meal order. Long story short - it took us a good half an hour to get seated and something to drink - which isn't what you expect when dining out, especially when you make the effort to book a reservation."
