A.lure SavannahThe food was Fantastic. OurThe food was Fantastic. Our server was amazing. He knew the menu like the back of his hand. We went with his recommendation and had the catch of the day and it was amazing. My absolute favorite was the potato chips with bleu cheese fondue. The prices were resonable and the portions were perfect size. My only fault on the resturant was that the owner was present however made no contact with guest.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Start to a Good NightA.Lure is a wonderful, new restaurant in Savannah. It is in a nice spot for night life after dinner. I loved the pork pot stickers and the low country boil. The place is a little tight and noisy to me, but, the food, cocktails, and friendly staff really make up for that. I look forward to my next visit. :-)5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA.lureFabulous, creative food, happening good energy. Very loud. small bar space. We loved it though.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Delightful EveningWe had a very knowledgeable waitress who was attentive. The food was delicious. The soft shell crab appetizer was spot on as was duck with Thai curry and my husband's red snapper. This is not our first time at A Lure and I look forward to going back many times in the future. Thanks for a lovely evening4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Amazing ExperienceWe truly enjoyed dining at A.lure, out server Sonya we amazing, so excited about the food and very knowledgable about the menu, she made great recommendation for wine and dessert after really paying attention to our needs at the table. Very accommodating restaurant allowing us to choose our seat since we were eating early and the dining room wasn't full yet, not a large dining room so probably not great for parties but they did have a separate room in the back which could have accommodated more people. Either way we were so very pleased with the experience, i highly recommend this to my guests now as a local working in food and beverage.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMJust about perfect. Near CityJust about perfect. Near City Market but with none of its noise & commercialism.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our top 5 of all time!Wow! Just Wow!
Ambiance and Service off the charts. The food presention did not let us down! Both our dishes were off the charts delicious!
We highly recommend A.lure!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it...the staff was attentiveLoved it...the staff was attentive and the food excellent!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMwe went on a thursday eveningwe went on a thursday evening to celebrate my husband's birthday with our son and daughter-in-law. we all had wonderful apps (tomato bisque with grilled brie sandwich, goat cheese and strawberry salad, the ceviche martini), the entrees were fabulous (my husband and i had butter fish over a succotash consisting of asparagus, tomato and corn...yummmmmm! we also had the grouper dusted with nori, and the "peas and carrots". dessert was a sampling of 4 delectables called a study in chocolate...nothing left on that plate! everything was delicious and our server was terrific (she even walked us to the door and thanked us for coming!) we will definitely return.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA.lure is a fantastic restaurantA.lure is a fantastic restaurant representing Savannah beautifully with a well trained staff and excellent food. Our waiter was fabulous remembering us from a previous visit. Plus, it ws a fun, upbeat place. Our table had the duck, beef tenderloins and snapper for entrees along with soft shell crabs and scallop special and tomato bisque for appetizers. We were all pleased with our selections. My husband especially liked his grilled cheese that came with his bisque. The excellent service made it a great evening, and we were especially glad as it was the couple that was with us first visit.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDELISH!I had THE most amazing Thai curry duck! The accompanyments were superb, the curry was INCREDIBLE, the duck prepared perfectly!
Every part of the entree was perfectly complimented!
Our group also VERY MUCH enjoyed the house blue cheese fondue homemade chips appetizer.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were referred there byWe were referred there by the receptionist at the Hotel Andaz liked it so much that we came back two nights later.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTantalizing food, fun place to be!Staff was very attentive and extremely knowledgeable. Menu was eclectic, fun and filled with wonderful food combinations. We had the soft shelled crab, and the scallops as an appetizer and the low country boil as a main dish. Each dish was prepared beautifully and was delicious. The owner came over to see how we liked it. I would highly recommend this place!!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlluring a.lure!I don't even know where to start! This fine restaurant in Historic Savannah has to be one of the nicest surprises we've had in years! It was recommended to us by Gena Knox who is a chef, author and entrepreneur from Athens. The ambience was wonderful, the menu so incredible that we didn't know where to start! The chicken livers fried in corn meal with a Parmigiano Regianno risotto and pan gravy was very nice as were the mango/pork potstickers. The lo country boil was memorable as well as the tournedos!
Service was extraordinary and the price was more than fair considering how incredible the food was. We would travel a long way just to have dinner at a.lure!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA.lure was a nice, more contemporarA.lure was a nice, more contemporary restaurant. Service was good, if almost too attentive (the waiter apologized every time he put something down on the table). This restaurant gets a bit of a bad rap for trying too hard, with some reviews complaining about too many different and competing tastes, which kept my wife to the simpler chicken dish. I had the tenderloin, which was excellent, and we also shared the pot stickers, which were not traditional, by any means, but were good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the meal.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently ExcellentThis is one of our favorite historic district restaurants--the food and service are both consistently top notch, at a quite reasonable price. The "Southern Morsels" section of the menu offers creatively prepared dishes that can serve as generous appetizers or right sized dinner portions. The Chip and Bleu Cheese Fondue is the perfect starter with a round of drinks while perusing the rest of the menu--don't miss it.
On our most recent visit, we had a group of six with a deadline to be out the door in time for a show. Our meal was perfectly paced; the bill was graciously, quickly, and accurately split between the three couples; and we left a little ahead of schedule. All were delighted with the experience.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMService was outstanding withService was outstanding with great advice on what to order. Terrific food.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWowWhat a fantastic experience. The server was incredibly informed about food and he couldn't have been any nicer. The tasting menu was fun and very inventive. All in all, it was the highlight of my trip to Savannah.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty SupriseWe enjoyed this restaurant very much. The cornmeal dusted chicken liver was very tasty and I also had the seafood pasta. Service was spot on and we enjoyed everything.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMwe needed a nice place towe needed a nice place to take our boss and wanted to show him a good Savannah experience. The evening started at your bar where we were greated by a friendly and attentive bar keep. At dinner, the same great service continued. We talked to several of the other patrons and to a person all recommended the food and ambiance!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but can improveMy fiance and I went to A.lure for her birthday since there were items on the menu that she wanted to try. We had the Chef tasting. The food was delicious. However, the drinks were somewhat of a miss. The mixed drink that my fiance ordered did not taste good at all; it didn't have a good proportion of liquor and mixer. The beer that I ordered was not even cold and even when they got me a new beer, it still wasn't cold. Overall, the food was great, the service was good and the atmosphere was good. This place is good for special occasions but cost can add up especially if you want to try many things. It was overall a good time.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat new find. You wouldn't think walking through the City Market that fine dining existed in the area but after stepping through the doors of A.Lure changed our minds. This was a great find. We come to Savannah several times a year and just found this place. Loved it. The food was great, the wine list was very good. The server had to go ask what bourbon were available but that was OK and needed help with answering questions about the wine list but it was quite extensive. The salads were outstanding and a special fish was ordered-wahoo which was fantastic. I was a bit disappointed with my shrimp and grits. The grits were to creamy, rather they were hard and cut into a square. The dish had good glamour but I would choose something else next time.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA. Lure offers mainly deliciousA. Lure offers mainly delicious food although its culinary pretentiousness is off the charts. I had an amazing appetizer that combined scallops, duck confit, corn relish--and corn ice cream. Everything was great but corn ice cream and scallops? Why? My wife had some strange Hawaiian version of a snapper with various other ingredients that was a winner. My duck was not so successful being coated with Thai chili peppers that I missed in the waiter's explanation of the special (there were so many other ingredients that I lost it in the shuffle) and made it so hot I could not finish it. The waiter was very solicititous, in fact too much. He was basically trying to tell us how special the place was. (He was also head of marketing--really)3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting & diverse menu.Interesting & diverse menu. Scallops were very good. Wonderful service. Pleasant surroundings. Wall art perfect for Savannah. Will return. Nice change of pace after meeting with my accountant for income tax prep.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food with excellentVery good food with excellent unique dishes. Service was a little slow but likely because of a large crowd on an early weeknight. Highly recommended.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting varied menu.Interesting varied menu. Excellent quality and presentation.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional experience!!!our waiter recommended both "specials" that we chose as well as wine pairings and we were delighted with all. The hostess also initially took us to a table for two right by the entrance to the kitchen then asked if we would prefer a more scenic and not as crowded spot and she moved us to a table in the bar area in front of a window which was delightful!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAll 3 times I have eaten atAll 3 times I have eaten at A.lure, the food and service were awesome. I will definitely return.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA nice surpriseGreat service and fantastic food. Just plain super all around.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAn oasis in the desertTucked away in the tourist traps of City Market, you wouldn't expect to find an inventive chef doing amazing things with food. We felt welcomed the minute we stepped in the door, with everybody from the hostess to the bartender to the waiter talking to us as we made our way back to the table. Our waiter, Steven, was on his game. He knows the menu and wasn't afraid to make solid recommendations based on what he liked and didn't like during the day's tasting. I had the Thai-style duck breast for an entree and my SO had the Kajiki (sashimi-grade Hawaiian blue marlin). Everything about this place was perfect.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNice SurpriseA.lure has been open less than a year and it was also our first time dining there. The ambience is cozy and neither casual nor formal. The entire staff was very attentive without being intrusive. A.lure offers a fixed price menu for all members of your party or a traditional menu to order from. I tried an appetizer and entree that were specials for the evening while my wife ordered from the menu. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was given some unusual combinations in the dishes. The frozen goat cheese dessert was is a good example; I took a chance and am I glad I did. Exceptional. Overall, a great place for dinner if you are in downtown Savannah. It is conveniently located in the historic market district.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA creative menu for foodies. We booked a dinner at A.lure after seeing their creative menu online while planning an overnight in Savannah. We were not disappointed. The salad and Foie a la mode appetizer were superb. The duck leg confit was tasty, but not crispy as it should be for an authentic French preparation, where it is twice cooked in its own fat. Otherwise the fish of the day was perfect and the recommended goatcheese soufle desert was a real winner. Our waitress and other staff were on the ball and there without being intrusive. Definitely recommend this restaurant for an exciting food experience.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Choice for short stayGreat little spot just off CityMarket. Lovely small bar that you can eat at in front. Personable and knowledgeble staff. Excellent food, some unusual items. Good Wine list, some nice mixology at bar.2/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! Our son ravedGreat food! Our son raved about his entree! A bit noisy and cramped in the front but it was New Year's Eve. Very cold as the host kept holding the door open for long periods. Ask to sit in the back.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AMOutstanding dining experienceA culinary experience. Delicious food...attentive service...great place to dine and have conversation...I highly recommend.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
