Diner Reviews
  • "The food was great, the service was great and the ambiance was nice. It would have been nice to see more customers in the restaurant."

  • "Alfresco dining overlooking the ocean the view is unbeatable. Menu selection is limited in choices and pricey. My food was tasty and well prepared. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was a bit lacking and a bit dated looking. Their terrace on the ocean is their main asset."

  • "My friend and I took a friend to Alba as it is one of our favorite restaurants to show off the potential of Sunny Isles dining. The wind wasn't blowing too hard so we ate on the terrace. As usual the service was great, and the food greater! We started with the bacon wrapped figs, moved on to the chef's special, a wonderful version of a New England clam bake. The moon was full and glimmered on the relative flat sea, making it a wonderful night for all! Especially the special activities for the Full Moon Celebration including the club upstairs...,"

  • "We had never been to this restuarant befor and had a coupon so desided to try it we went on on Wednesday evening and they have this 6 course meal for $35. our waitress said it was all you can eat, so i thought yes, 6 courses is all i could eat. But we found out it was all you can eat and you could order refills of any of the courses, so since i am a desset person i ordered another dessert and my companion ordered a second on the shrimp dish. What a find. and on Wednesdays they even have a $15 all the wine you could drink. and the view was great. we go there for an early dinner so we can enjoy the ocean views before it go too dark and believe me we did we will definitely go back again and again. Our waitress Lucy was outstanding!"

  • "OK food, nothing extraordinary nor delicious.. Just plain OK. There's a great scenic view during the day, not worth going for during night time as it's pitch dark. Recommended for a 'normal' place in the neighborhood, nothin special."

  • "ON the way to the restaurant unless you are driving a car or one of the tenets who have access keys to the side door to go to elevator you can die going up the ramp shared by the cars coming up to the front door of building . Can not understand why it is difficult to get people walking from the area who prefer not to drive a short distance to risk their life to eat in there. Pleas make allowance to more people to come to your place and not only settle for the hotel for your business FOOD Short rib meatball was a good start and I loved the grilled spicy shrimp, it was deicious"

  • "I took my girlfriend to this restaurant for valentines day. When we walked in we were less than impressed with the decor of the restaurant, it seemed incomplete almost. The next thing that we noticed was that the menu was hardly Italian... There were a couple of dishes that were Italian, but overall I wouldn't call it an Italian restaurant. I ordered the chicken Milanese and my girlfriend order the fish tacos (not Italian, I know) and we ordered the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus for sides. The mahi mahi in her tacos was not good at all, the Milanese was bland and tasteless, the asparagus was cold, and I'm pretty sure the mashed potatoes were instant and came from a box. We asked for the check with full meals still on the table."

  • "Arriving at Alba is a special treat, as you drove up a steep windy driveway, go up a glass staircase , and end up overlooking the ocean. The. Decor inside is lovely too, but marred by having TVs in the restaurant. There is a $5 charge for the valet parking, which seemed fair. Very nice salad offerings that can be topped with a variety of nice protein choices including crab or lobster. Their specialy meatballs are heavy and filling, but really great-tasting."

  • "Another hotel recommended it, got there and only one other party of 4 was in the restaurant. Ordered a few appetizers at bar that were ok, drinks were rather expensive, service was pretty basic so to our surprise an automatic 18% gratuity was added to every check but of course not mentioned."

  • ""I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The eggplant appetizer was amazing, also the Crab. Service was well-timed and friendly, and they have one of my favorite wines from New Zealand. Had a great birthday dinner at Alba's""

  • "First time was for the Miami Spice. The food and service was excellent. Sat indoors due to the heat. Second time around, our party sat outside in the nice breeze, enjoying the incredible ocean view. The service was equally excellent, but unlike the first time, the incredibly large shrimp were overcooked, tough and chewy. The lobster was cooked perfectly. But overall the entire experience was great."

  • "We celebrated a belated anniversary here, and we are so happy that we did. Everything - the food, the service, the ambiance was what we had hoped for. I had the Orecchiette, delicious and better than expected. I thought it would be all pasta and just a touch of lobster. However, there was more than enough lobster and just the right amount of crisp tender asparagus and sun-dried tomatoes. My husband had the fish Oscar. The Mahi was perfectly cooked and with the amount of lump crab that topped it off with the yummy Hollandaise sauce was incredible. We were touched that they acknowledged our anniversary by serving us a beautifully presented Tiramisu for dessert. We look forward to going back to try some other menu items."

  • "Expected much more from a restaurant ranked number one in the region by trip advisor. Food was ok not exceptional. Poor choices of wines by the glass, the one I ordered was almost not drinkable. Good salads. Seafood pasta recommended by the server was not notanle"

  • "Every review I read said "Go here for the Bucatini"; "You HAVE to try the Bucatini". Got there...wanted to try it...they have REMOVED it from the menu. What? Well...they ended up doing it for me anyway...so they have to get points for that...and it WAS fantastic! But...when are restaurants going to learn that YOU DON'T CHANGE A GOOD THING...ESPECIALLY A SIGNATURE DISH. They had a signature drink they also weren't doing any longer...the Southern Smoke. I asked them to do it for me...and it was one of the very best drinks I've had in a long, long time. I just don't get it. This restaurant won't be around for years longer. Their cheesybread is excellent...among the best I've ever had. Wonder if they're planning on removing that as well?"

  • "Good service overall however the food was fair at best. Bacon wrap dates for good however the calamari and mahi mahi were disappointing."

  • "Very, very loud music made conversation difficult. Great beach/ocean view. Good food. Overly enthusiastic waiter confused us with description of specials, menu and possible combinations. Confusion extended back to him as final bill contained extra item and was itemized in a way that made it difficult to correlate to fixed-price combo's ordered by two of a party of four. Restaurant occupies space in Sunny Isles Beach hotel and offers stunning views. Think of it as a South Beach property moved some miles North."
