Decided to finally try Abacus during restaurant week. The food was good, but not remarkable. The servers just seemed very hurried and disengaged throughout the meal. Granted it's restaurant week and I'm sure they hate the slew of people coming in and are quite busy, but throughout the meal the waitress never removed the empty glass I had from the bar and I had to ask more than once to order a glass of wine. She was friendly enough, just seemed quite hurried and indifferent to the dining experience. Will likely go back and try on another night as I hope it would be better. Bartenders were great while we were waiting for a our table, super attentive and made great cocktails. Overall, not sure that I'd recommend it though.

My group of friends go here annually for Restaurant Week and the Abacus did not disappoint. Service was great, the food was beautifully presented and delicious. I had the ravioli appetizer followed by the pork crusted tenderloin both were exceptional and probably the highlight of all the dishes. Abacus is one of my top 5 restaurants in DFW.

We loved it! We were looking for an elegant but not over the top, fine dining experience and we were WOW'd. Food was superb, service was outstanding and the ambiance was exactly what we had hoped. When we were done we decided to stay longer for drinks in the lounge, because as it turns out, it looked like a local hot spot with a comfortable amount of guests in the lounge area to relax and enjoy a few more! Will definitely come back and have already been recommending it to others. ;-)

When we were given our menus, we were told they only do a Restaurant Week menu so that they are able to maintain quality control. The menu is more extensive than most of the abbreviated RW menus and the quality was indeed a higher standard. This was the best RW experience in many years. The food was splendid and service was top notch. We did the wine pairings for $35 & the pours were extremely generous. The only meh item was their famous lobster shooters. The sauce is amazing, but we felt like a grilled lobster (instead of tempura/fried) would have highlighted the dish and the lobster. It was 'fine' but not a standout to us. The Caesar salad was perfection as was the beef tenderloin ($15 upcharge and worth EVERY penny).

I had the pleasure of dining at Abacus with a couple of girlfriends yesterday evening, and everything from the food to the service was superb. The Restaurant Week menu was outstanding with a much wider variety of options than I've seen from comparable restaurants. I ordered the cornmeal crusted calamari and roasted duck breast, and both were delicious and beautifully presented. I also had the chance to try my friends' carrot ravioli, sweet gem lettuce salad, flank steak, and pork chop, and they were all wonderful as well. The dessert was my favorite, because we were offered three different small desserts to sample, and once again, each was delicious. I've wanted to dine at Abacus for a while, and it did not disappoint.

We ate here for restaurant week. Overall, the service is very attentive and professional, the restaurant has a warm, relaxed ambiance, and the presentation of plates is well done. The food is luxurious and expertly prepared, but there's just something about it that keeps me from rating it over the top. Maybe it was the calamari, although tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, it was rather tasteless. The salmon dish was the star, we both loved it. Although, the flat iron was so tender it could be cut with a butter knife, it comes in a close second. We would also recommend the spring rolls for the small plate, they're small, but packed full of flavor.

We went here for Restaurant Week and were pleased that the quality of food didn't suffer. Service was attentive and although they got one side order a little mixed up, they quickly made up for it and then deducted it from the bill. They only thing that detracted from the experience was the noise level.

Visited Abacus during Restaurant week. Didn't know what to expect, never had gone before. Wonderfully surprised. Heard rumors that some restaurants cut back on servings. I had the Pecan crusted pork chops and my date had the duck. Absolutely enjoyed both, no small portions, great presentation. Ken Rathbun made a point to personally visit every table. Very impressed. Will try and visit his other restaurant in Plano.

Pleasant atmosphere, really enjoyed the upbeat 'tho not intrusive music. Attractive decor and friendly, professional service. The food was well presented and inspired. Everything my companion and I selected was delicious and included: little plates: ceviche and buffalo spring rolls; intermezzo: cherry-limeade; big plates: flat-iron steak and roasted duck-breast; dessert: strawberry shortcake, coconut cream pie our favorite) and chocolate s'more bread pudding. Our only criticism is that we both felt that rather than having a bite of three deserts, that we would have rather had a whole serving of our choice of just one.

We went to Abacus for restaurant week. I have dined at Abacus several times and it is one of my top favorites. I was very disappointed in the food and service. I understand how Restaurant Week works and I understand that we would be somewhat limited on time. However, they brought out lobster shooters at the same time as the appetizer. We had barely sipped out cocktails when the food appeared along with our wine pairing. The waiter came by every few minutes trying to pick up our plates that we had not touched. It went down from there. The dessert was mediocre at best. We did not eat it. I am very disappointed. We spend over $200 on a meal that was not even good.

We've been to Abacus several times before, so when presented with a chance to go there for Restaurant Week we did not hesitate. We were impressed with the several selections of appetizers and entrees, instead of the usual two per category. The food was very, very tasty, as always. The special take on having 3 different desserts shared by the couple was also very creative. I was just a little put off by the person who called a few days before to confirm our reservation for Restaurant Week, and mentioned that we had 1 hours and 15 minutes. No one enforced it, but it was very strange to have heard that.

This was the best Restaurant Week meal I've had (but read on for why I gave it 4 stars). The ravioli and pork chop were flavorful, presented beautifully, and well portioned. If you're a foodie that appreciates restaurant ambiance then you won't be let down by the chic yet comfortable feel. Everything seemed purposeful here: the ingredients, the segmented unique decor of the restaurant, the information provided by the server, and even the unexpectedly amazing cherry limeade intermezzo. The only reason I gave the food four stars was because of the dessert. Maybe it's because we received the Restaurant Week options, but I was pretty disappointed by the average tasting dessert sampler that I felt I could've gotten anywhere.

I have been to Abacus many times in the past. The food and service was outstanding. This visit was just horrible. The waiter out party of 6 had was inattentive and was only seen when he was taking our food order or trying to up-sell us on our wine. Never check with us after the food was delivered to the table. The protein on 4 out of the 6 plates was severely undercooked. The salmon was partially cooked and was still translucent in the middle. The pork chop where dripping blood and certainly nice and pink. The duck breast was an abomination. The fat was not rendered and the skin was not crisp. The inside of the breast was chewy and dripping blood. No nice pink center. The 6 people in our party said never again.

This is my 3rd year eating at abacus during restaurant week and was disappointed compared to prior years. They seated us in the corner and it was freezing! We asked them to turn down the air and they did but about 30 minutes later it was cold again. As usual, the lobster shooters were a highlight. Appetizers were good but his steak was a little tough and my pork chop a little too pink. Desserts were good but small and we had to share. I know during this week it is a different type of dinning experience but a little disappointed anyway.try

Rough start to a good evening. The waiter seemed too busy to go over the RW menu so we were a bit confused on what all was offered. We wanted the additional 4th course but he said we couldn't have it unless we had the central market coupon? We were ok with paying the extra $10 as stated online, but I guess he brought it anyway and didn't charge us??? All in all once he was no longer weeded we received great service and will return outside of restaurant week.

Went during Restaurant Week, which probably skews things, but that to me is what RW is all about. Soup course was delicious, but not very warm. Main course was almost room temperature and the steak knife wouldn't cut my pork chop. Never seen a chop that chewy! Dessert was good, but nothing special. I chose this as my first venue for restaurant week since they had won D Magazine's "best cocktails" and "best bartender" and it did not disappoint. I arrived a little early so I could check out the bar scene, and I would go back in a heartbeat. The cocktail menu is reduced due to the need for increased turnover during restaurant week, however they still had plenty of great options and apparently normally have even more. Will definitely go back!
