  • "I was late in trying A10, which is walking distance from my home. It was fairly busy but not too loud for a Friday lunch. We sat in the attractive bar and enjoyed salads. My mizuna and baby carrots salad was filling, tasty and healthy, with quinoa and some small black crunchy seeds I could not identify(poppy? Chia?). The carrots were mostly pretty large to qualify as baby, however. Mt companion's steak and greens salad was reportedly very good, too. Our server was attentive, and we received good advice on our wine picks from the bartender."

  • "We were seated promptly near the window on the bar side of the restaurant. The waitstaff had to shout to be heard. I was very disappointed the ONLY water was poured from a MYSTERIOUS green bottle. Where did it come from? Is it purified? WTH? No bottled sparkling water is sold! WTF! Seltzer water from their tap was offered.YUK! The good:Try the draft cocktails! The Daiquiri was GREAT w/a kick. All food was GREAT! ASK about ingredients... I asked about one pasta dish only to learn that it's topped with a vinegarette NOT in the menu description. I hate vinegar! The cornichon aioli served w/Double Fried Frites was GREAT!! and the herb butter was worth the price of having to buy the baguette. BTW-our server had too many tables to handle."

  • "Drinks were good. Pizza appetizer was very good. They love putting eggs on stuff which is great in my opinion. Got a pasta dish that said gnocchi on the menu but was actually just a slice of polenta. It was very good polenta but was in no way, shape, or form gnocchi. This wasn't explained in the menu or by the server. The scallop entree was good too. The dessert (like most of the other courses) suffered from too many ingredients. The coconut panna cotta could have done without the candied sesame seeds. The Twinkie cheese plate thing could have done without the pickled cherries. A totally solid option if you are in the neighborhood, but we won't be returning."

  • "I had avoided A10 until now because their first menus were not very friendly to vegetarians or pescaterians, but I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased this week. Enough starters, pizzas, pastas and salads for the non-meat-or-shellfish-eaters, and a couple of possible entrees. My sazerac was terrific, and a great accompaniment to my starter - a kohlrabi, apple, mint and pecorino salad. The roasted vegetable entree was quite tasty, and the chocolate malt soft serve dessert sinful. My companion was equally pleased with his special of the day salad and gemelli. We'll definitely go back, and thanks to the chef for broadening the menu!"

  • "This place is a great spot, a foodie restaurant in Hyde park with a sophisticated menu and excellent service . We started with wonderful cocktails - a gin based drink with a lite rum and lime juice , delicious! Then proceeded with a wonderful corn and snap pea salad , a double pork chop that was roasted and seasoned to perfection , a steak and quite tasty asparagus on the side. We skipped dessert as we wanted to try the ice cream shop down the street. We will return to a10 and work our way thru the menu . As an aside , the car seemed quite nice , we decided to save that for another day ."

  • "We went to A10 for my birthday this past weekend, and it was my first time there. Definitely the best food I've have in Hyde Park. It's great to see that the neighborhood finally has a nicer place to eat. The bar has interesting selections, and the menu combines unexpected flavors in ways that are effective and delicious. One of the people in my group had what he has described as one of the best steaks of his life. Something about the sauce. Definitely recommend it."

  • "A10 was outstanding. Food was well prepared, fresh and creative. If you're planning to go home satiated or dine at bargain basement prices, A10 might not be for you. But if you're looking for interesting meals, a great wine list, unique cocktails and great service, it's just might be the right place. My only complaint (and they can hardly be held accountable for it) is that 53rd is a busy street under construction which created a bit more noise in the outer dining area than is probably normal. But the rest of the experience more than overcame this minor inconvenience. As Arnold said, "I'll be back"."

  • "The food was below par. I had green tomato lasagna. I was curious as to how they would blend the acidity of the green tomato with the rest. I had a big pile of indescriptible stuff, with breaded green tomatoes, cheese, lasagna pasta, crab, and the whole thick was covered with a thick bearnaise sauce. The whole thing made no sense from a culinary point of view. I had fried ricotta as apetizer that was just as uninteresting. The highlight was the double fried frites. It was my second time at A10. The first time I had scallops that left me an unpleasant aftertaste in the mouth. I will not return."

  • "Good vibes here. In some dishes it just felt like there was something that just missed the mark. The plating was beautiful tho. The servers and bus-boys, the coolest. Also the people at the host stand, yeee!! Best thing was the duck fat pasta. It had a lot of flavor, probably because duck fat has a lot of flavor and the sauce was reduced well. The sauce on the carpaccio dish had a funny texture and just missed the mark in terms of flavor. The oysters were off the chain with that lil crunchy crouton thang in there. Presentation for those was on point. The cheesy ball things were okay. They needed a lil more pizazz. And the scallops were also okay. The crunch from the quinoa was the jam, but then the sweet potato puree needed something more."

  • "I took my husband here for Father's Day. It's new in the area and we were very excited to try it. The service was excellent. The chairs were not comfortable though. The food was just ok. Not worth the price. My husband ordered chicken paillard and said it was a bit dry and needed a sauce. I ordered Campanelle and it was just ok - definitely not worth the $20 they charge for it. The double baked frites were good though. If they improve the food I will recommend it. Until then I probably won't."

  • "We had dinner here following my son's graduation from college, so Hyde Park was mobbed. I made a reservation several months in advance, and the event coordinator, Eva, couldn't have been more helpful or professional. There was a prix fixe menu the evening we ate there, I guess because we were 11 people, but everyone from the kids to the grandparents found something they were happy to eat and that they found delicious. The waiters were cheerful and helpful, as was the sommelier, and all in all it was a pretty perfect dinner. Hyde Park sure has needed a great restaurant for a long time; I hope it appreciates A10. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the regular menu."

  • "We had dinner there, as well as Father's Day brunch. Wonderful pea soup; Rushing Waters trout was superb, beautifully presented--my husband thought it the best fish dish he'd ever eaten. Server was friendly and informative, although one wine order was not brought until the main course arrived; server said the wine should wait for the main course. My husband had no drink for about half an hour. Brunch less successful. Very long wait for food. Two of us ordered French toast; both orders were burned on one side, but burnt side was facing down. Server did not return after food arrived, hence could not be told about burnt items. Modern, casual atmosphere. Front staff cheerfully accommodated requests for changes to our reservation."

  • "We were seated and our drink order was taken promptly. I was surprised coffee and tea were not listed on the menu, so we had no idea how much they cost. The cream curdled in my first cup of decafe. The second cup was delicious. The waiter told us a soft shell crab was the special of the day, for $16. After ordering it ,the waiter returned and said the special was 2 soft shell crabs for $26. We waited a long time to see the menu again. The brussel sprout omelet, steak, and duck confit were very good. We are not often in Hyde Park for brunch, but would return if convenient. The food was good, and the atmosphere pleasant. However, they have some kinks to work out."

  • "I took two family friends who were visiting from out of town and they were suitably impressed with how lovely the food and staff were at A10. Standouts of the meal included Venison Tartare, Maitake mushrooms in butter and sherry vinegar, and delicious basil olive oil donuts with strawberry rhubarb jam. There has been a very consistent improvement in quality over the past few months, and it's wonderful to know that we know have such a high quality and reliable restaurant in the neighborhood. "
