  • "We had a fantastic dinner here over my husbands 40th birthday weekend. We popped in during the day to make sure that they could accommodate a vegetarian. The chef spoke with us. He was delightful!.. Extremely accommodating. Our food that evening was wonderful and the ambience was lovely. We will definitely be back. The whole team was friendly and professional."

  • "The food was disappointing the four courses were not great the appetizers were In appealing tough squid a tiny pizza tough athe little dis patty was good but needed a sauce the best was the cold Brussels sprouts A choice of one of two entrees a fish dish or fillet mignonette and short rib wit microscopic potatoes boiled the two meats did not pair well the courses were served with ceremony not going back for awhile"

  • "18 Bay never disappoints. We celebrated a family birthday this weekend and had a terrific time. Tasted cardoons for the first time. Cozy ambiance friendly attentive service. Food is imaginative and local. First of the Peconic Bay scallops. We will be back as usual"

  • "We had a not so great dinner here a few moths ago. Although the food was outstanding, the service was enough to make me want to NEVER go back. We decided to give it one more chance and 18 Bay was back to its old MO. Exquisite and creative food and more than adequate service this time around. As locals, we forgive and forget and will make this restaurant a habit."

  • "The food was so great, no complaints whatsoever. It's a small place that gets filled quickly, even though seating was tight, you still feel as if you had your own privacy! but you better make a reservation!!"

  • "Though the food was good, the service was inexcusably poor. Ordered botlled water, never got more than a glass each thiugh the partly filled bottle was removed from the table and we had to order a second with the same result. The bus staff kept trying to fill glaases with tap. They have no concept of wine pairing. They simply plopped a glass of white or red. No name no origin no compositon just the type (here's a riesling or a nebbiolo). We were also seated by a drafty door and I needed my coat the entire evening. This was nit a goid experience. We will not be back."

  • "made a 9pm reservation and didn't sit down til 9.45 pm. we would of liked to see something comped or a free appetizer while we were waiting. after working all day and not eatting we wanted to sit at 9 and eat, not be leaving the restaurant at 11.30. once we placed our order, it took about 10 minutes to get our apps (which was the same for the whole restaurant) but after that, the timing and service was great. the menu was the same for the whole restaurant. everyone got a plate of 4 smalls apps, choice of 1 of 2 entrees, a pasta salad i believe, and a choice of 1of 2 desserts."

  • "We took the ferry from Sag Harbor just for dinner here because it was highly recommended. We were blown away by the delicious meal! I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys fine dining! I am allergic to seafood and shellfish and they were able to substitute without question. I appreciate restaurants who think of these possibilities ahead of time! The lamb entree was incredible. And the potato with truffle oil sauce was amazing. I wanted to slurp up the sauce with a straw!"

  • "Went to 18 Bay for the second time with my sisters and cousins. We had been here together two years ago. We were not disappointed. The food was exceptional. One appetizer was better than the other...I just love the fact that you try all four appetizers, we had difficulty picking the best. The pasta was so fresh and delicious. Main courses were cooked perfectly and pear tart with gelato was a wonderful closure to our meal. I have been hear several times and will have no hesitations in recommending it. Well run ferry makes getting here easy!"

  • "We eat out quite a bit and 18 Bay is definitely on our top 5 list. We had the 4 course meal and would highly recommend it because it gave us an opportunity to try some of the chef's outstanding selections, especially on the appetizer list. Service was very attentive and informative. Great cocktails - love the lemon martini. Celebrated our anniversary. Pricey but worth it!!!"

  • "Excellent inventive food, beautifully presented. Service friendly. Dessert well done but not up to originality of other courses. Looking forward to another visit."

  • "Can't say enough. Gastronomic experience from start to finish. Each course was a surprise and the service was spot on. Be back next week to check out new menu."

  • "Our meal, on one of the busiest weeks of the summer tourist season, was excellent. Imaginative antipasti, homemade pasta with spinach and mushrooms, sea bass and steak that were both from local sources. The service was friendly and competent, though we waited a very long time between courses, presumably because the kitchen was overwhelmed by the crowd. Everything was very fresh. Diners need to know that there is a fixed menu; the only choice you have is between meat and fish for the entree. Although the meal was not cheap (we had a good bottle of wine), it was significantly less expensive than it would have been in New York City. Good value for our money, we felt."

  • "An unusual approach to the menu: the only decision you normally make is to choose one of the two offered entrees; four different antipasti and a pasta course are delivered to all before the entree, and a dessert afterward (you can ask for substitutes when you have a dislike or an allergy). The menu changes weekly, and is based on locally grown produce.Everything we had was delicious, with some creative combinations of flavors. A charming location in an old house, but gets noisy when busy (hard surfaces). Service friendly and knowledgeable, but bread was never offered, nor was coffee until we asked."

  • "We had 18 Bay on our "to try" list and then friends mentioned how much they enjoyed it for date night. The menu is price fix and includes appetizer, small pasta plate, choice of two entrees and dessert. The appetizer was four "tastes"; calamari, quail, swordfish and a mushroom dish. All very good. The pasta was a spring pea ravioli - all the pasta is handmade. Entree choices were pork loin or striped bass - we both chose striped bass - it was delightful - crusty on top and light and flaky below served over julienned zucchini and corn. Dessert was peach blueberry cobbler with vanilla gelato. All in all an excellent meal. The meal was 2 full hours - so a bit long if you are in a rush - which we were not. A nice addition to the island!"
