    Place is certainly unique and the history of the building brings a lot to the table. Service was friendly and accommodating. Love the fact that the menu changes weekly and that it’s all local ingredients. We both thought the food was just ok and if I had to pick one word - Bland. Fresh pasta was the standout for me while the dessert and oil blend for the bread was lacking in flavor. Place has a good story and perhaps I just caught them on an odd week.

    What a pleasure to visit 18 Bay. The entire experience was first rate. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, the wine list is expansive and the food was delightful. The menu was seasonal, fresh and creative with gorgeous flavors and textures. For a high end tasting menu, I think the restaurant is quite affordable as well. I just generally liked the entire vibe in this restaurant. You can tell in every aspect that the owner/chefs take pride in their business and put the customer experience first....

    Fantastic meal, superb service, Jimmy made us feel right at home. Every restaurant on the island should take lessons from 18 Bay. Nuff said.

    Extraordinary food. All wines available by the glass. Friendly, welcoming staff (Jimmy was great). The otters on the antipasto were amazing !!

    My favorites were the pasta course, the main (Halibut) and the panacotta dessert..wow!! The chef tasting appetizer (4 selections) wasn't as successful as I felt the servings were too small to really appreciate but..... I will definitely be back!! A gem of Shelter Island in its 8th season....

    We spend our summer in shelter island every year and dining at 18 bay is a treat for us. We look forward to dining here every year. Thank you for sharing your talent and also thanks for Jimmi and all the staff who work there for making our visit so special every year! They are so personable and attentive and knowledgeable!

    Jimmy was very accommodating as we got to the island late that Friday evening. Had a nice table ready for us and made sure we were satisfied. Dinner and service were great!
