Even without a reservation, bar tables are available on a first come, first served basis and the full menu is available. The bar also serves traditional cocktails made with top-shelf ingredients; refreshments at its best in an environment of effortless hospitality. Whether you dine early or prefer to dine after theater, Zuni is a welcoming haven.
Our anniversary meal was special in so many ways. The food was perfectly prepared, the service was exceptional, and we had a really wonderful time. We will be back!
Another perfect Zuni experience. Two of us celebrated our birthdays and the meal was celebratory and special.
Always amazing food. Fun ambiance!
This is a terrific place for a leisurely lunch or dinner. The food is excellent, the wine list extensive, and the service is peerless. The only possible challenge is a table of noisy neighbors, which is more than tiresome. Barring that it is superb!
Lved the piano music! Chicken a bit overdone but still delicious and salads -
One of the last and lasting Great Sam Francisco restaurants, the Zuni Cafe is like that constant, reliable best friend- always there to pick up the conversation from where you last left it. The Caesar salad is still the star and the polenta with marscapone was as comforting and delicious as always. And the oysters!
So grateful for the eternal Zuni Cafe.
FABULOUS AS ALWAYS
CONSISTENT, COZY, DELICIOUS, CLASSIC
KEEP IT UP ZUNI
Always a special night at Zuni. My absolute favorite.
Always an amazing meal! The stuffed trout with tarragon and beurre blanc- oh my!
Wow! This place has been at the very top of AF dining for many years. With all the coming and going among other top tier dining options, Zuni Cafe has maintained its status and is attracting new people every day. We loved everything about it.
Prices have gone up but not the quality. What a shame.
Great late night after symphony dining experience.
Great fries, chicken and my porchetta dish. Looking forward to our next visit.
A San Francisco icon and such the well-oiled machine. Oysters. Caesars, Chicken for two with the celestial bread salad, a couple bottles of Chablis. Service top-notch and fun people watching as always. JR would be proud the legend is still as vibrant as ever!
We celebrated our 5 year anniversary had great food, but honestly some of the worst service we’ve had in long time. Especially when we’re celebrating and spending close to $300 on dinner I would except to feel welcomed and feel like we’re being taken care of but we just felt neglected and like our server had better things to do than help us out with all our questions. Definitely will be back for the food but hopefully we get better luck with service.
Zuni is a San Francisco classic. We’ve been going for 20+ years, and after dear Judy Rogers passed, we were concerned about how Zuni would continue without her, because in addition to her talent as a chef, she was the loveliest and most generous person. I have returned to Zuni many times and it is still wonderful. That being said I will always miss her and think of her whenever I return.
Great always good
The chicken was absolutely fabulous- tender and flavorful. Caesar salad was wonderful. Great service.
My first time there. We stuck to the classics, Caesar salad and roasted chicken - both outstanding. It is an amazing experience to have such a high level of detail to everything in the restaurant from impeccable service to perfectly executed classics. It is interesting just watching the wait staff work the room making sure every table is getting just the right amount of attention. The dessert was excellent as well, Gateau Victoire and fruit and nuts with lebne and honey. The cappuccino was one of the best I've ever had.
Got there early for a late reservation and there was availability in the bottom floor toward the front of the restaurant which was a great spot. Got the chicken since it was so raved about — thought it was good but it didn’t match the hype. The persimmon, pear and olive oil app was amazing and the polenta yummy. The little gem lettuce and beat salad was good but not great. Overall a very nice experience made all the nicer by our server, Garrett, who was warm, kind and professional.
Service tonight was incredibly lackluster. Several mistakes and a seeming disinterest in taking responsibility for the errors. I think it was just an off night. I’d still go back and cross my fingers for a different waiter.
Every single course was absolutely delicious. Stunning meal and wonderful service.
I'm from out of town and have been waiting for years to eat at Zuni Café. I own over 500 cookbooks but would put the Zuni Café Cookbook in my personal top 10 list. What did we have? The oven roasted chicken, of course! Sadly, I make a better roasted chicken at home. The skin was not crispy, underseasoned, and the warm bread salad too lemony. Detected no woody taste from the wood-fired oven. I recognize this is a classic recipe, but think a better dressing could be created and would gravy or a sauce be too much to consider? A disappointment, but would enjoy coming back another time to try other menu items. My dining partner enjoyed her cauliflower soup and I thought the warm squid salad was pretty good too.
Enjoyed entire experience and only regretted we didn't have the time to wait the 60 minutes for the preparation of their specialty chicken/bread/salad dish. Our waiter was terrific in guiding us through the menu and making us feel welcome.
It took over 90 minutes to get our food to the table for a business lunch, client had to leave for another meeting before the food showed up.
Always fantastic, Zuni my *go-to* for exceptional moments and cuisine with dear friends and family. Already planning my next visit, once dates open for reservations. There's a 30-day lead time policy, which is perfectly respectable. It's more than worth it! When I land a table, I feel like I've won the lottery. There's nothing in the City like Zuni. May you enjoy it as much as we do!
Love Zuni. Quite expensive, but a lovely atmosphere and consistently delicious food
It was a very good experience after the waiter got permission to move us from the tiny, cramped corner table upstairs. That table cannot seat two human beings comfortably.
Amazing!! Perfect ladies lunch spot
We sat upstair for lunch and enjoyed a lovely meal. My halibut was served in a bed of Israeli Couscous and saffron. My husband had the King Salmon was perfectly cooked. Another highlight was the Espresso Granite--delicious!
I was happy to come back to Zuni Cafe, It's a great place to celebrate special occasions, it was my friends first time and she enjoyed every dish. We enjoyed every dish and the service.
My husband and I had our wedding reception here and for our first anniversary thought we would make it a tradition.! We love this place Scott our server was delightful., knowledgeable and AMAZING! Thank you for making our special day so wonderful.
great food ambience and service a good place to gp
Not great. The salmon was fine. Halibut was a complete miss with odd flavor choices and not cooked great. Nothing stood out. Server was rude. Not impressed for $140 without alcohol.
Classic and worth it. Plus, they were wonderful about accommodating our baby.
Always great we come to Zunis every time we travel to San Francisco from Australia and it is always great.
Zuni is our favorite lunch spot. As always, the food (fettuccine w mushrooms, Sage sausage, lamb soup, burger & shoestring fries) was excellent as was the gâteau victoire. The service @ Zuni is a delight. Thank you!
