Even without a reservation, bar tables are available on a first come, first served basis and the full menu is available. The bar also serves traditional cocktails made with top-shelf ingredients; refreshments at its best in an environment of effortless hospitality. Whether you dine early or prefer to dine after theater, Zuni is a welcoming haven.
Consistently outstanding menu options, food quality and menu innovations
Staff are friendly, attentive and a team of professionals
Went with friends. None of us had been to Zuni in over 10 years. Turns out it is still great. Chicken is still fantastic, loved the citrus risotto, and service was very good. Even seemed like a good value compared to a lot of other top end SF restaurants these days.
It was a perfect place for a family celebration. The food was amazing although it is pricey
Zuni was a special way to end a wonderful vacation. Their Caesar salad is excellent and I don’t give that compliment out lightly.
Very nice spot for special moments.
Consistently good and with excellent vegetarian options. Helpful servers.
Our lunch made all my Zuni dreams come true! After years of wanting to visit SF and Zuni, we finally got there on our last day. We started with the polenta with mascarpone. Otherworldly! The chicken and bread salad made was worth the wait! And don’t miss the dark chocolate sorbet with olive oil! The staff is friendly and even showed us the wood oven. And the tables are arranged for quiet talking. Casually elegant!
I have been eating here 32 years! Superb!
Outstanding food and service. Must order the chicken.
Protein Portions extremely small; specifically, swordfish could not have been more than 3-4 oz; lamb chops equally small portion, 1 1/2 chops was all that was served; both were priced high end of entree selections giving them absolutely no VALUE at all; Chicken portion for 2 was very good and large portion.
Based on no value on two entrees (male guest left hungry), I would not recommend Zuni to anyone. Service was just adequate. maybe B grade
A San Francisco classic, Zuni is the place for locals and visitors to get a delicious meal and great service. Our favorites were the gem lettuce salad, fritto misto of squid and cardoons, mushroom risotto and duck leg with mole sauce. Creative cocktails and an exceptional wine list. Attention to detail and a warm vibrant atmosphere. Only the cookie plate for dessert wasn't very good. Should have ordered the sorbet or ice cream.
Amazing food! Service was just okay & it was a touch loud but it was still a great day!
Zunis always is a TREAT , we eat there almost once (ok sometimes twice) a week....it is consistently delicious and we love the people there, such fun always!!!
I’ve been waiting for years to go to Zuni Cafe and it was well worth the wait! From the service, to the food to even the tiny details. Everything exceeded my expectations
Food and service were exceptional.
Short wine list had exceptional diversity and good choices.
Noise level was deafening. Conversation was impossible.
Prices were outrageously high.
I won’t be back.
This survey is toooooooo long
Ordered the chicken for two. It arrived with several raw pieces. The server took it back to re-fire it and it came back charred. Bummer to spend $63 on poorly cooked chicken. A comped dessert didn’t quite make up for it.
The food was cold and not very tasty. Disappointing.
Just had some of the worst service of my life. Our food was consistently brought out after diners who were seated after us. Our waiter was never present. We waited for two hours after being seated for our entree, and only then received it after flagging down a different server. For this price point, I recommend literally any other restaurant in San Francisco. I've had positive experiences here before, but I will never come back.
FABULOUS AS ALWAYS !
Great restaurant. Had lunch and then returned for dinner. Excellent food and service.
Great food, great service. A bit pricey.
the service was good and timed well by server. champagne was amazing and the chicken for two was stellar! ✨
I have been going to Zuni for decades. Won't go back. Food was good but I felt absolutely slapped in the face by the charges for beverages especially but also the food. I ordered a hard cider, by the glass $13, which is a stiff price to begin with. I like my cider on ice. I expected a big beer glass of cider but received an 8 ounce glass with ice in it. So paid $13 for about 3 ounces of cider. Along with the $7.75 for a bottle of water - ridiculous.
I had a caesar salad with anchovies and a bowl of polenta, my guest had a fried chicken sandwich and a lemonade. Our tab was $101. Absolutely idiotic. Will NEVER go back - Zuni is too full of itself. Too many wonderful well priced restaurants in SF to get robbed by Zuni. What a shame.
I dine here for many years since it opened. It is a wonderful place to eat and be with someone. Tables are close together so you are always hearing anothers" conversations. This is an expensive restaurant. the quality is always superior and the food is beyond reproach.
Good selection of dishes on the menu and the drinks list was also good. We had the duck breast and sausage with sauerkraut for brunch and a couple of drinks each. It came to more than $120 including tax and tip which in hindsight seems really expensive but the food items were the cheaper ones on the bill. Our server was friendly and helpful, not just to us but to diners at other tables too. We also admired the artwork on the walls, quite wide-ranging, intriguing styles. We will definitely come back, it was a nice experience.
Cozy atmosphere, good food and service. An easy walk from the Orpheum theatre.
I was a bit underwhelmed. The food was just fair. I was expecting and wanting more. Our waitress was really not up to par.
Menu changes so that evening, we enjoyed an arugula and endive salad, steak with leeks and Manila clams with farro, as well as flourless chocolate gateau and an almond panna cotta. All were delicious although portions could have been a tad larger.
Great food. Great service. We had a great time!
I love Zuni. Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, and still so delicious after all these years. Would have given it five stars, but our $60 chicken and bread salad was surprisingly too charred. Only a couple of pieces of the chicken and part of the bread, but still surprised they would serve it so charred.
Chicken was fantastic and service was great! Will be back!
We always love our time at Zuni cafe -everyone is wonderful there and the food wine and atmosphere is our speed!! Grateful we’re able to dine there often!!!
My companion and I met for lunch. My rockfish with baby clams and vegetables cooked in broth was delicious, as was her chicken sandwich. The onion rings were thin and crisp. Everything was perhaps a bit more salted than either of us would like, but that is a minor blemish. We'll go back.
I love Zuni, never miss going every time I’m in SF.
Really great food and exceptional service.
We've always enjoyed our favorite meal at Zuni Cafe, but our date night was disrupted by an exceptionally loud table. They talked about their sex life and used the offensive N word. Our server notified the manager and he apologized and graciously took care of our drink(s) An example of a night out at our go to spot being ruined because of a few ignorant guests.
Manny was hands down the best restaurant server we've had anywhere. Timing was perfect. His suggestions for wine and foods perfect.
The porchetta was excellent! The set up was great accompaniment. We started with the Piccolo frito... wonderful!
All-in-all, a fabulous dinner experience.
The chicken is amazing!
We love our dinners at Zuni!! Always something new and delicious on the menu, and on the nights of comfort the delicious, can do no wrong, chicken!! YUM...
The staff is professional and fun and very helpful...we feel at home there and always hope to be able to join for dinner at least once a week, either table or bar...not a bad seat in the house!!
Thanks for the care, Kim and Clarence Barker
F in tally had the chicken. Delicious. Expensive as heck for chicken but good stuff.
