Zuma Japanese Restaurant - Miami Ratings and Reviews
The service was terrible. Even the manager was rude and completely uninviting. I ordered a drink I didn't like and no one said anythig, they took it back and the manager came to ask me what I was looking for; and then left, in a very rude manner. I ordered another and the waiter accidentally poured water in it. When we told him, he said "oh", not sorry. He was kind to take it off the bill, however the whole dining experience was not what I would expected from Zuma, in general.
the food is always impeccable, but the service is regrettable, I do not understand why all Zuma's staff at MIA is lousy for years, let's wake up, the people who frequent this restaurant deserve respect, since 22% tip are for this, for one high quality service
Great Waiter, he was great! But ok but really ok hostess wait for a 40 minutes no an apologize no a sorry was waiting with my baby outside will other ppl were checking in same parties at the table ... it’s ok but still otherwise great place, just notice that they removed the mushrooms rice from the entry level menu and they ask almost double for the next level menu unfair... but understandable
The restaurant was fine and food was awesome. Was a bit disappointed when the restaurant (hostess @ front desk) mentioned that they do not assign "good seating" options to reservations coming thru OpenTable.. I challenged them and was able to get an "ok' table. I will not be making any future reservations for Zuma thru Open Table..
The restaurant claimed that they were busy and at capacity. They first wanted to sit us outside when I made my reservations a month ago. So they seated us inside in a small corner of the lounge that barley had anyone sitting around us. The tables next to us had no people sitting at them the entire evening from 9pm-12am. They could have accommodated the seating better for the amount we spent (600$ USD) for 4 people.
Have been to this place for probably 40 times. This time bad service, average food , overpriced wine and they charged us for the items we didn’t order in the amount of over $70!! When i told them about it , they apologized and didnt charge us for the wine! Really? What if I didn’t check the bill? Is that what they normally do? People check your bill! Very very disappointed!
They didn’t respect my reservation. I had to dine at the bar.
Never will be back a my opinion is bad attitude. I have by strong doubts about open table. They didn’t care about me making my reservation with you
I thought that the food was lackluster. Flavorless. Came here for lunch last week and had a cold salmon dish that was good. The Grouper tempura was terrible. So fishy I couldn't eat it. The rock shrimp tempura was bland, thankful for the sauce that jazzed it up but it wasn't special. The sliced filet was great, cooked to a perfect temp. Service wasn't the greatest. It was an okay experience. The interior is looking tired.
We had yet another amazing meal at Zuma! From the welcoming hostesses who managed to seat us well before our 10 PM reservation, to the friendly and knowledgeable bar tender and our waiter, Shepard, it was a wonderful experience. The food and service were exemplary. The seared scallops, sliced tuna in Ponzu dipping sauce, mushroom rice hotpot (very generous portion), spicy tuna roll, eggplant & tomato salad, and pork dish are not-to-be missed. There is an AMAZING dessert of green tea banana bread with coconut ice cream and some crazy good crunchy caramel bits that is also a must-have. This is a restaurant where every player knows their role and plays it to perfection making for a predictably fabulous experience every time. It is hard to achieve this level of consistency year over year so kudos to Zuma!! Can't wait to return!
If you want to be assured of being seated in the restaurant’s main dining room, do not book your reservation using OpenTable. The restaurant does not give reservations made through OpenTable the same status and priority as those made directly with the restaurant.
We had a reservation but we didn’t mention in which part of the restaurant we wanted to be seated. A lady from the restaurant told us that when you make a reservation via Opentable you can be seated wherever they want (she told me it’s indicated on the confirmation mail but it’s not) i didn’t want to be seated in the lounge area cause there is water falling off the a/c and didn’t want to be seated outside because of the scaffolging installation. At 09.45 she told us that we have to wait 45 min to be seated in the main dinning room! The reservation was at 09.00pm !! This is the worst in Miami !! And i don’t even talk about the valet at the Epic : 20 min minimum to get your car back !!
Food, service by our waitress (I wish I’d remember her name! She was really good and smiley and funny, knew the food well, gave us really spot on suggestions ..), ambience- all was excellent. Overall amazing experience was only ruined by the unorganised (or badly organised) valet parking when we had to wait for our car for nearly half an hour ..
My husband and I went for our first anniversary. We decided to go in Zuma because it as also our first date.
We always have a good time in this place . The food is amazing, the view is indescribable and the service is always perfect. In my opinion based in the experience I have in going to restaurants in Miami Zuma is the most expensive . That’s why it’s only for special celebrations kk
Don’t hard sell the “signature” menu to me. I’m not broke, so don’t tell me what to order based on price. The manager and the staff didn’t take us seriously at first. They did after I told them to stop talking to us and just bring the food and drinks we order.
Great meal, terrible staff.
