Great post-CSO dinner. Just a real short walk across Washington Park from Music Hall, Zula is a hidden treasure and great find for any concert goer! Where else are you going to find a warm seat around the open brick oven and a good glass of wine to help you discuss the great performance you just experienced? Just a great craft cocktail and wine by the glass list. We shared the beet salad - spectacular presentation and taste. (You’ve got to try this one!) Mussels you said? Just the best classical French mussels I’ve had since moving to Cincinnati! And the bread was warm and toasty and put to great use in soaking up the wine and butter sauce left in the large bowl after I’d finished the mollusks. My wife had steak with a beautiful vegetable medley of sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I’d have been envious had my mussels not been such a treat and generous order. What a great find! Zula, indeed.
Our waitress was great as was the food.
As always, loved the mussels and bread. Our waitress, Emily, was the best. Very pleasant throughout the entire meal.
I am a repeat visitor to Zula and find their menu interesting and always consistently good. Flatbreads are very good as are the muscles.
Yellow Fin Tune Crudo and Beef Carpaccio was amazing. The glaze on the carpaccio was a little too much but that is just my taste. We also tried the Eggplant fries which tasted like a funnel cake. I can't believe I just compared the two but it was very tasty for a fried food. Note the sauce for the fries is spicy and can catch you off guard but it was delicious.
Do not be afraid to try the old fashion with the merlot in it. Sorry I don't recall the name.
The bartenders were wonderful as well and very engaging but not overly.
Fun place. Very good and attentive service. A nice selection of small plates. Have been there before and will continue to go here.
Outstanding. Our server was awesome as usual.
Excellent food and service. The mussel menu is especially recommended. For entree, I would recommend the duck. This will be on a regular rotation for us.
Another good meal at Zula, make sure to check them out
Service and food were excellent! Our waiter did a fantastic job explaining the menu and wine selection. I was pleasantly surprised with how reasonable the wine was priced per glass. I will definitely be dining at Zula again
We have enjoyed dinner at Zula more times that I can count at this point. The food is always fantastic as is the service. It’s our favorite restaurant in OTR. We just love it!
Outstanding as always. Mussels were great and salmon was fantastic.
Server Dominique was fabulous! Just got back from several European countries and what a breath of fresh air to be served with a bright smile, attentive care and knowledgeable recommendations! Thank you Dominique and Zula!!!
We had an awesome meal. Spectacular food and service. Lots fo great selections for vegans, pescatarians and non discriminatory eaters. We will return.
My first visit to Zula (my date's 2nd). We had the Yellow Curry and the Thai ____ mussels. The Yellow Curry mussels were outstanding and the bread for the broth was superb also. The Thai mussels were also very good just not as good as the yellow Curry. We did not have any of the flatbreads (they looked very good) or desserts or salads - we will go back to try more of the food. Vic the owner is a great guy and a pioneer in the OTR district - Zula deserves patronage for the food alone but also VIc is a great citizen of Cincinnati!
A perfect first visit to Zula! We were given excellent service from the time we entered the restaurant till we walked out the door! Food was superb quality! Mussels were fabulous! Loved the shareable plates. Wine was also reasonably priced. Will return soon..
Food was very good but they didn’t really have a great spot for us to sit and it was very loud
Had a great experience at Zula. Mussels and the Brussels sprout flatbread was amazing, and the wine selection was fantastic! The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because it was rather noisy for a date, and it seemed much quieter in the back room! I will definitely be back!
I keep returning to Zula for they mussels and flatbreads. My favorite are Fungi and Classic French mussels and Bulgarian feta flatbread. Highly recommend this place.
Excellent food - some of the best I’ve had. Great wine selection, knowledgeable and personable staff. Highly recommend giving Zula a try.
Wonderful food and fun atmosphere. We sat at the wood oven bar and really enjoyed it.
Interesting menu and the food was fairly well prepared. Great Beat Salad!!! Didn’t love the communal dining table. Didn’t mind the company at the table but the seating was too tight. One or two less chairs at the table would make it a better expereince over all.
Another great dining experience at Zula. We usually share small plates and had the baby kale salad, bread basket for 2 (a must), mushrooms, and deconstructed lamb moussaka. Also had a glass of the featured Tuscany red blend and chocolate hazelnut praline gelato for dessert. All delicious! Service was very attentive but not disruptive. Have been coming here several times a year before concerts for years -- never been disappointed. We'll be back :)
Our services, Emily, made us feel very welcome and really knew her way around the menu. Food, cocktails and wine were delicious as always!
Had a great meal of succulent “New Orleans” mussels (broth also had shrimp and andouille sausage) served with their stone oven baked bread for mopping up the broth and a mushroom flatbread. Nice red blend that was nicely priced to accompany our pre-concert meal.
The servers were excellent, and we enjoyed watching the oven chef, who is obviously very good at his job!
Great service and food
Food was delicious!
Lovely evening of food and company.
I was very pleased with the food and my entire experience at Zula. It was recommended to me by a coworker. I was attracted by the menu, especially by the calamari, moussaka, and mussel dishes.
Been to Zula many times especially for the mussels and beet salad. I will be back.
I always love coming to Zula's. Love the food. I brought a young couuple and they were so entranced with the menu, they ordered several choices and a bottle of wine. We had a great time.
Great food and service! Mussels were delicious and we also have a raw salmon plate that was amazing!
Only negative comment was the lack of mayonnaise to go with the mussels and fries. Learned to eat that meal in Belgium. The chipotle aioli just didn’t do it. That said mussels and fries cooked to perfection. The wait staff anticipated needs; didn’t have to ask for anything. Kudos.
A fun place to experience with good friends , good food, good drinks.
I sat at the bar in front of the pizza oven and watched them make flatbread’s, which looked wonderful but I did not partake. I had the charred calamari which was awesome and seared tuna which is the best I’ve ever had.I can’t wait to come back here with some friends so that we can sample more menu items.
Friend visiting from out of town!
I love this restaurant. The salads are always innovative and fresh and the mussels are always a treat. I go before any performance at Music Hall.
Excellente cuisine, serveuse attentionnee et prodiguant de judicieux conseils!
Great mussels, fun place
We had mussels, flatbread, ceviche and fries. The mussels were exceptional--perfectly cooked and spiced. Ceviche was a little disappointing -- good quality fish but lime was overpowering. Tables are so close together in the front that we felt like we almost had to talk to the people on either side of us!
