Great food but 30 minute wait for a table we had a reservation for.
Bottomless drinks 5 stars, food meh
The wait staff was kind and personable.
The food was excellent.
The prices were reasonable.
We made a reservation and after an hour and ten minutes they asked us to leave because other people were waiting, but we were sitting and enjoying our meal.
We've eaten here many times for both lunch and dinner and the service was always great. This was our 3rd Christmas dinner here and I had to mark it down because of the service. My plate was half full and the waiter came up and asked me if I wanted to take it home! I was in the middle of eating and we hadn't even been there for 45 min. I know most people usually complain because of the slow service, but this service was too fast. The guy didn't even apologize for what I presume was a mistake or someone in the back was having them rush people out so they could seat more people before closing. I will continue to eat there, but if it happens again, they will lose a customer.
Have been coming here for years. Food is reasonably priced and always fresh. Favorite spot in UES.
This is the second time we have been here in 2 weeks. Food and service are great. You need to get there early because it gets a little loud when they are full house.
The place is very nice. Service was great. Food was average. Good local place.
Solid neighborhood place for brunch. Nothing unique. Has special menu in window, but waiter didn't mention any specials until asked. One of our friends read the specials or we would have never known.
Enjoyed this casual lunch spot. Reasonably priced tasty food.
Extremely reasonable tasty lunch. Very pleasant atmosphere. Defntiely be back!
To start, the staff were very attentive and helpful however as the meal went on this diminished a bit. After our main the check was dropped over to our table, without us asking for it and without being offered dessert. We did end up staying for dessert and another drink and the food was very good!
Great value for fine italian dinner in Italian. Very friendly service, good portions and excellent quality. Will dine here again.
Warm cozy inviting atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly. Chopped sun-dried tomato spread with warm bread cubes was phenomenal.
Portion were more than adequate. Would definitely go back.
We were there for Sunday brunch. The service was great. Food was very good. This is a great place that always delivers a nice dining experience.
Disappointment. We never had our water refilled, unless we asked for it. Appetizers were just ok - nothing enthralling. It's not very expensive, but I still expected better. Antipasto Misto was supposed to have Gorgonzola and Parmesan in addition to the cured meats - there were 3 tiny pieces of each cheese, rock hard. Cured meat were basic, food chain type. Entrees were also just ok. They didn't even wait for our appetizers to bring entrees - and we're eager to then take away appetizers plates when we were not finished. I had the Cornish hen - roasted "fingerling" potatoes were just simple Yukon Gold dived up. Decent though. Green beans were barely cooked - and covered in oil. The 2 hen thighs looked well cooked, crispy outside. They had been reheated so long that I burnt my tongue, taking the first piece in. Even cut up after 5 min, it was still too hot to eat. And of course it was dry as hay, and no sauce at all. The portions were good (even large) and there was plenty of meat - so good for the price. But totally butchered by a kitchen staff that clearly is either bad or doesn't give a crap. We ordered a bottle of wine of a certain vintage - they presented me with another year ..... without pointing it out. I had to ask - they said it's the only they had but I would be the same price. Our waitress never came to check on us and after our dishes were served, she was no where to be found and the bus boy took over our table. He spent his time staring at me and looked weird, like he didn't know what e was doing. Deserts were frozen, supermarket type. In the end we asked for 2 glasses of wine - we have no idea what they brought or even if it was what we asked, but the wine had been opened way too long, had a terrible taste - just awful. We would have complained, had we had a waiter or I a manager was there .... but just kitchen staff.
Will not go back, do not recommend. Now I know why the OpenTable reservation was indicating +1000 points.
We ordered the special veal scaloppini with artichokes. The meat was tough and dry. For dessert we ordered an ice cream and sorbet cup consisting of four scoops because one of them was supposed to be hazelnut, which we love. There was no hazelnut. This restaurant is moderately priced but there there is no prix fixe lunch. Other restaurants in the same category offer better value.
I had lunch with friends.
This is a nice friendly restaurant with great food, value and service.
solid as always. the best Italian food? no. but for the price and amount of options worth it.
Service is slow and you might end up hungry and angry. We have waited there more than an hour for our food to arrive. when arrived it was overcooked. It used to be much better in the past and I'm not clear if it because new cooks or new manager but definitely quality of food and service decreased few levels down.
Zucchero was great as usual. It's an Upper East Side gem. Highly recommended.
Found this neighborhood restaurant recently and love it. Delicious authentic meals with large portions. Very friendly staff. Love their breads and tomato dip.
The food left much to be desired. My wife's pollo al ferri was very plain and my red snapper special tasted fishy and not fresh. We ordered a side of broccoli rabe that had no taste and was hard. The crab cake special was tasty, but quite salty. All in all, I was not impressed by the food. I do want to say that the service was fast and courteous.
Food was delicious. Menu offered many options. Service was a bit scattered. Value was great for the city.
It's a local gem, with a great kitchen that consistently delivers delicious Italian favorites.
This was our first time at Zucchero e Pomodori and it was lovely. Very cozy, extremely clean and I highly recommend the eggplant parm; it's TO DIE FOR! Very delicious -- thanks to everyone there.
The service was horrible. Very slow. The waitress came to our table only twice throughout our entire stay. The food was very bland! The nicest thing about the restaurant was the very polite hostess. Other than that, save your money, don't eat here!
Yummy! Fastest service ever.
Really great pasta and amazing service! Much more reasonable than other places nearby. Will be coming back.
This was a family gathering. Half of the people on the party were from Washington DC
Buena comida, buenos vinos, buenos precios. Muy buena opción para una hermosa velada. Exquisita comida italiana ! Maravillosa
1st time dinning here & I've been on the UES for years. Four of us dined and the bill was only $115! What a deal & the food was fantastic! The service was slow at the end but other than that, a great experience.
Good food. Good size portions but very very noisy. Hard to hear my friend talking.
The food is always amazing. We've eaten here many times with family and fiends and everyone is always happy with the food and the service. The ambience is homey and rustic. Not many tables so make a res! You will love it!
This is an excellent restaurant- I would definitely go back. I had the ciaoppino (however that is spelled). It was really good, but I tried somebody's branzino, and I liked that better. Overall, it's a very good place, with prices competitive with the neighborhood.
what a great find on the upper east side. food and service were great. while there the delivery people went out 8-10 times. highly recommend for good, quality delicious italian food all made fresh to order.
Food was exceptional, drinks were great, service was wonderful as well. Had a fantastic meal.
As always, a good meal at a good price. It's my neighborhood go to.
