Mediterranean
Legendary Orange County chef and restaurateur Zov Karamardian has opened the doors to her newest restaurant, Zov"s Anaheim, located on the corner of Katella and State College. The 130-seat restaurant serves a menu of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine including several flatbreads or "Pitzas," Greek Shrimp Salad, Spiced Lamb Burger and Sumac-Roasted Sea Bass. The stylishly decorated entry leads to a welcoming and elegant bar that offers a local micro-brew beer selection, fine wines and several specialty craft cocktails. The two adjacent interior dining rooms are perfect for large and small parties. Just outside, the patio integrates seamlessly with the interior space and offers ample seating along with a fire pit and large flat-screen TVs.

“Lunch at Zov’s” has always been the phrase used by the OC Power Lunch community looking for upscale cuisine in a comfortable environment. Zov’s offers a unique happy hour and free corkage Sunday and Monday evenings.

This was our 3rd visit to Zov's over years.
We still liked it a lot. Lentil soup is good to try and appetizer plate with all little salads.
Service was less friendly that I expected it to be. The waiter projected a feeling that we have disturbed him from something important he was doing. The restaurant was empty at that time, so I guess it was just not a friendly waiter.

We had a fine experience at Zov's but wouldn't go out of our way to recommend it. We ordered an appetizer platter with 5 items, including baba ganoush, hummus, olives, lebneh (yogurt), and walnut paste, and it was all OK, but none of it particularly outstanding. My husband ordered a Greek salad, which was more lettuce than tomato and cucumber. Our son had spaghetti with a meatball from the kids' menu, and that was also fine. Nothing particularly bad nor memorable about this meal.

The lamb burger had so much salt and spice over-worked into the meat that it rendered the meat into mush... with no texture that should be present in the balance between fat and protein in a properly prepared and cooked burger. It was served on a huge stale bun, with aioli sauce (tasted like salty sweet spicy mayo) smothering both halves of the bread...that further worked to have you forget that you ordered lamb. The thick matchstick French Fries were great, except they, too, were over salted and over spiced. I am sure I reached my weekly recommended limit of salt in just this one meal tonight. I hope my heart does not hold it against me.

There are two salmon entrées on the menu. We asked the difference. The 'Seared Salmon', is supposed to be twice the size of the '4 ounce Petite Salmon'. We ordered the larger portion, but were served a tiny 3 to 4 ounce piece sitting on a huge mound, over a pound, of sautéed potatoes. At least it was not over salted.

We drowned our sorrows in their 50% off Wine Tuesday - 1/2 price bottle of wine.... that we appreciated.

I grossly over tipped, because I felt embarrassed leaving so much of my food, uneaten, on my plate.

Oh, and they will only cook everything to 'medium' or 'well-done'. That, says a lot......

This was our first visit to Zov’s. We met up with a friend that was in Anaheim for a conference. It was a beautiful warm night, so we sat on the patio. We had brussel sprouts for our starter (with the bacon on the side), followed by a filet, a small salmon plate and a fish sandwich. The staff was very accommodating of our dietary restrictions/special requests. Everyone loved their meal. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again!

Met some co-workers after work. They sat us in the back at a large table which was great. Our server was attentive and made some great recommendations. The cauliflower appetizer and the Brussel sprouts were delicious. I had the balsamic chicken club which was also delicious. We shared the butter cake which didn't disappoint!

We were heading to a concert Saturday at the Honda Center and looked up restaurants in the area that had an open table for dinner. Zov's was available and after looking at the menu we booked it. It has been a long time since I was last at Zov's. The meal was not good, neither was the service. Honestly the best thing about the meal was the cocktail. I ordered the meatloaf stack and it was barely warm- seemed to me like it was microwaved. The pizza we ordered was flavorless. The most upsetting part is that as soon as we got our food the waiter disappeared and we did not see him till we were getting up to leave. We had to flag down a busboy for the check.

We love coming to Zov's. We were going to the Angel's game so stopped here for dinner with my sister and her husband. They had never been to Zov's so I wanted them to try it. The parking of the game is great because they validate your ticket and you an walk to the stadium. I had the nachos again because they are amazing. I love the pita chips instead of tortilla chips. My sister had the burger and fries at my suggestion because they both are good. My brother-in-law had the pizza which he said was very good. The pizza was a nice size and filled with toppings. My husband had the chicken which he said was delicious. We went on Tuesday which is when they have half price on a bottle of wine. The wine prices are good anyway, but half price makes it even better. This was the third time that we have been here and we have loved it every time. The service is good, it isn't too noisy, and the food is delicious.

Had a seat on the patio. Took the waiter forever to address our order and actually blamed the bartender for having forgot about the drinks that my friends had ordered about 15 mins prior. The waiter also hadn’t even brought out a kids menu for my friends who had a toddler with them and said “it’s actually pretty standard and what most restaurants have on kids menus...” Pretty much was too lazy to get it and didn’t know exactly what was on it...The food was pretty subpar coupled with bad service. I think this place would probably have been better maybe by the bar where you have ready access to people. Would not go back. Decent look to it but that doesn’t tend to be the reason why people go to restaurants right?! Next...

We are frequent diners at the Tustin and Irvine locations and have never had a negative experience. Not so Friday night. The food was as good as we expected, but the service was very disappointing and the noise level was deafening. We were going to a concert and the service was so slow we could not enjoy one of Zov’s delicious desserts. No time. We are not inclined to go back there.

Needed to find a place to meet a friend halfway between Glendale and San Clemente! I had no idea where to go, just found Zov's online. It worked out perfectly, easy to find, close to freeway, convenient free parking. The service was friendly, helpful, food was tasty & imaginative, atmosphere was casual. It was a little noisy from the street outside, but inside was okay. I was meeting a friend I had not seen in many years. It turned into a special occasion. The server was friendly, but did not rush us. I had a vegetarian dish which was fresh and tasty. My friend had a salmon dish which she said was delicious. I would eat there again, even though it is not close to me. It is a good place to meet friends.

We enjoyed our dinner at Zov's. My husband and I both had the sea bass with lemon sauce and spinach. Perfectly cooked with great flavor. Also ordered a calamari appetizer. It's hard to find a good calamari appetizer as most are deep fried. This was not fried and my husband very much enjoyed it. I thought it was ok, but am still looking for a great calamari appetizer. We do appreciate very much that Zov's does not have a corkage fee. Our waiter, Gustavo, was great!!
