Zoubi Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I had dinner here on a weekend getaway a couple of years ago. We had a great experience, so we decided to try it again. Zoubi did not disappoint! If anything, our dining experience was even better this time. Dishes were interesting and prepared well, service was attentive without being intrusive, and the ambience was, well, Zoubi- eclectic and charming. If you’re driving there on a weekend, make sure you allow time to find parking.
Booked for anniversary dinner 7:45 pm Saturday. Got there early just in case. Waited for patio sitting till 8:30 when I approached ball headed jerk waiter who said we would have the very next table. A few moments later we found out our promised table was given away to another couple who were hanging by the bar and talking to him, probably gave him some money. In any case upon complaining, bald waiter rudely offered to sit us inside. I have requested patio sitting since the patio is the only thing good about that place. We been here once before knowing that service it's a bit slow, however, the way this bald headed jerk treated us was unprofessional and rude. We ended up walking over to another place. We just hoped to have known that reservations in this place are worthless. Don't waste your time going unless you are expecting to pay this guy off or maybe get lucky on a quiet night. As for us, I will recommend to every one I meet not to ever go there. Saty AWAY from bald headed jerk waiter. Thanks a lot for wasting our time.
This was our first visit to Zoubi and we will definitely be back. It was a little chilly to sit outside but it looks great out back. But we were not disappointed inside. It is a very old building but the owner did a great job with the interior. It is intimate as there are not many tables. The food was wonderful - flavorful but not overwhelming. Portion size was just right so you could finish your meal and not feel stuffed. Corn chowder was excellent - as was my husband's burger. I had the cod special of the night and it was delicious. Also, the lobster roll was very good. We had the pleasure of being served by the owner who was just as charming as his restaurant!
The food was amazingly delicious! I got the cod which was the special of the day and my husband got the Tuna. Instead of getting a salad we both ordered the corn crab chowder...sooo good. The service was excellent. Our waiter was a gem, so attentive and we were never rushed. The atmosphere was quiet, cozy with soft music and lighting. I look forward to going back soon!
The food and ambiance were great. The service was lacking. Our server seemed unsure of herself and forgot what we ordered. There was also a misunderstanding about $1 raw oysters only being available at the bar. My husband ordered 12 oysters as his appetizer thinking we would be paying $12 for them. The total for the oysters alone was close to $40! A more knowledgeable server would be sure to clarify that if you're ordering oysters at the table, they're more than $3/oyster.
My friend and I dined here to celebrate my birthday on a beautiful evening. The service was outstanding from beginning to end. You couldn't ask for a more enchanting place to enjoy a superb meal. The tuna poke was perfectly seasoned, the halibut with grapefruit brulee and fava bean puree was heavenly, and the bistro steak was delicious. The wine list offered excellent selections, which paired well with the type of cuisine offered here. If you are like me and always in search of a delicious dessert to end the meal, you will not be disappointed here, and if you pair it with a sweet Vermouth, you may never want to leave!
Went to Zoubi's a few weeks ago without reservations and couldn't get in. So we returned and had a very nice meal. I had a peach gazpacho which was excellent. My wife had the strawberry salad that she loved. I had the veal Osso buco over a polenta cake; also very good but I could have used a slightly larger portion. (I like large portions.). We sat outside and we could have been sitting in a bistro in Tuscany or Provence. A great setting. Our server, Jackie, was outstanding; very friendly and informative. We will definitely return.
The food was correct but the service was excruciatingly slow (more than 35 minutes between appetizer and main dish).
After waiting for it for such along time the main dish was served cold.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Started off at the bar since we were a few minutes early for our reservation. Ricky the bartender was rude and not interested in even acknowledging us. The bar is very small so there is no way that he didn't notice us. And he complained about customers while behind the bar!
Appetizer of foie gras was excellent. Entree of Clam and chorizo dish was not as a few clams were not even open and the charred corn was missing from the dish. My husbands steak was okay but the sides on his plate were cold.
When told the waiter he replied with "thank you for your feedback"!!
Very disappointed in the pretentious attitude and lack of attention to the food they serve.
The food was great. The overall experience not good. It took an hour for the appetizers to come and another hour for the main course. We had dinner at 10 pm after all. The bread came cold and when we asked to have it warmed up the answer was there is no space in the oven. We left without ordering coffee or dessert as I was annoyed at that time and did not to wait any longer.
A slice of paradise in New Hope. There are no superlatives to describe how good the food is; the drinks are unique; the wait staff is attentive, but not obtrusive and is knowledgeable about each item on the menu. The al fresco dining is a must experience. It like dining in a small café in Europe. This is not a place to take children. The menu changes to reflect the season. The summer menu had a Strawberry salad with goat cheese; I would highly recommend that as a starter. Cocktails are unique and contain seasonal herbs. There are enough main course choices for the seafood lover or carnivore. The halibut with grapefruit and fava beans was excellent as was the grilled shrimp with anchovy butter. The bread is crusty and delicious. The portion size is just right. If you go to New Hope this is a must place to dine. Five star dining at its best.
We have been to Zoubi's four times now and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent. In addition to our excellent Strawberry salads with chocolate balsamic vinegar, we ordered the peach soup 'for the table' so we could each have some and it was out of this world! The main dishes were all superb and we (there were 3 of us) split one dessert because we were so full, but still wanted to try something. Jackie, our waitress, was wonderful and very attentive to anything we needed. This is our go-to restaurant whenever we're in New Hope.
We usually eat outdoors but ate inside this time because of the predicted rain, which actually happened during our meal. Indoors was good but outdoors is wonderful, so I'd recommend eating outdoors weather-permitting.
This restaurant's garden/patio is lovely. The weather was perfect for eating outdoors. Although we were only 1 1/2 hours from New York City, we felt like we were dining in Europe! The food preparation was interesting and delicious; the presentation was beautiful. Service did not disappoint; we appreciated that the wait staff appeared to care about our satisfaction after each course.
Late Friday night dinner (9:45) on a beautiful evening. Outdoor seating area is beautiful. We loved it. That was the best thing about dinner. Peach basil soup was OK but not as good as its name sounded! My wife's tuna poke was a bit salty. My crabcake was beautiful in appearance but only OK in taste. Not bad, just OK. Service was pretty good. And we loved the ambiance. If only the food were better this would be our "go to" place in New Hope.
Had dinner at Zoubi before going to the Bucks County Playhouse. It has a lovely outdoor garden setting - felt like were in Provence or Tuscany on a beautiful summer evening. The burrata with heirloom tomatoes was delicious, as was the gazpacho. The entrees were equally delectable. The crab cake was huge - and all crab - no filler here - topped with a tasty slaw, and the pork chop was also very nicely done - very flavorful. The only question I had was that I had asked the server what a nearby diner had ordered and was told it was the Lobster Roll. It was not on the menu and our very attentive , friendly server had given us two other specials but never mentioned the roll as a choice. However, our meal was wonderful and we would definitely return.
Hard to imagine a more pleasant place for outside dining on a warm summer evening. Zoubi's courtyard is lovely, and feels as close to dining al fresco in France as anything we've found in this area. Our French-speaking waiter certainly added to the ambience. The food was very good, not great perhaps, but good enough that we were all very happy with our meals. The only disappointing note was a very average and limited wine list, surprising for a restaurant like this. Still, would not hesitate to recommend this to friends, but would tell them to be prepared for the wine list.
A review on a other site said you would not find this place unless you were looking for it. Very true as it is tucked away, but well worth looking for.
Gave service 4/5 and 5s to the rest. Our server was new and still learning the facility. She did great and once she learns the place will be excellent.
It was such a wonderful and tasty experience dining at Zoubi. The wait staff were very friendly and capable. It was my birthday, and I can't think of a better way to have celebrated (the dinner portion of the big celebration ;0 )
From bread to appetizers to the entrée, things were so tasty and portions were really good.
The steamed pork buns with porkbelly and cilantro were indescribably delicious and had a healthy serving of meat and a light bun rather than heavy bread and light meat....
My crabcake was tasty and really large, The slaw was how I like it not sweet.
I would come back here for any reason, this is my go to place in New Hope. There are many restaurants there and perhaps I'd try some of them. But the beautiful outdoor space, delicious food and attentive wait staff, made this a very special experience.
