Zorbas Taverna Ratings and Reviews
This is the 2nd time I've been to Zorba's and it was as good this time around. Casual atmosphere but comfortable, food is reasonably priced for the portion size and the Greek food is very good. They do offer some American comfort food in addition to Greek dishes, so everyone should find something they like. Our server was prompt and attentive, and even turned the a/c off in our area when we asked, and how often does that happen? I had the moussaka with Greek salad, and it was a huge piece served piping hot with the scent of nutmeg wafting from it - delicious! Others at my table had the scallops and prime rib, which both of them enjoyed, along with the zucchini chip appetizer which was thinly sliced and fried. I did think the latter could have had a bit more seasoning. At one point the manager/owner came by and asked how our meals were, which was appreciated. All in all it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend Zorba's to others!
The food is good. We ordered hummus and grape leaves to start and both were very good especially the hummus. For my dinner I got a Mediterranean salad which was good but they served everyone else and forgot about my meal so everyone was done with their meals by the time it arrived (I had to ask). They were able to accommodate our group of about 18 people. Service was great other than that. Overall experience was good.
We had lunch on a weekday when they opened, so it was quiet, but more people came in as we ate. Atmosphere is like a diner in terms of the tables, so nothing fancy. Menu had a good selection of both Greek classics, like moussaka and pastitsio, as well as typical American fare like lobster mac n cheese, which was surprising. Everyone at my table had the moussaka, which was very tasty, and it was nice they gave you a choice of salads to go with it, or soup. I had the Greek salad, which was good although it could have used more feta. We all want to go back to sample some of the other items, as there were a lot more that sounded delicious! Service was prompt and attentive, which was appreciated.
Disappointed as it sounded great when I read about it. It didn't have a Greek feel to atmosphere or food and dishes were changed around to "appeal" to customers who want Americanized Greek food and not tasting good. Would not go back or recommend.
I have been hearing about Zorbas for awhile, being Greek and raised in the area, I decided to give it a try. If you are expecting a meal like you had at Yiayia's you won't get it. If you're not Greek and your standards aren't that high, you'll enjoy it. Food was ok, service, although they tried, wasn't great. Can't imagine what it would be like on a busy night. All in all....I won't be back. Just not worth it.
My husband and I had dinner at Zorba's a couple of nights ago, and, as usual, it was very good. We ordered our favorite items there, and they did not disappoint us: egg lemon chicken soup and lamb souvlaki roll-ups. They were both very good. We had 2 of the special desserts, the chocolate lava and a caramel creme brulee cheesecake. The lava cake was excellent, but the cheesecake was a little disappointing--the topping and caramel sauce were good but the cheesecake was bland. A very reasonably-priced glass of merlot was fine, and the service by our waiter Sean was outstanding. He was cheerful, helpful, and prompt without being over-bearing. The service at Zorba's is almost always very good, but this time it was way better than very good!
Appetizers were very good, must try the fried zucchini with tzatziki, like my father used to make (I am Greek). The Greek salads were fine. My food (baked fish with spinach and feta) was excellent, my son's pizza was very good, my wife's fried seafood a little too heavy, perhaps the oil used. Good wine selection. Did not try deserts.
Service was good. We will definitely go again, maybe stay away from fried food next time.
I love the spaciousness of this restaurant. At our request, we were seated in the coolest part of the restaurant where the air conditioning was working. The chicken kebab with rice was served piping hot with the chicken perfectly seasoned and cooked. If you have a craving for Greek cuisine, this restaurant is a good place to start.
We decided to go to Zorba's for our Valentines Day dinner. The weather was bad but we weren't going to cancel. The restaurant was pretty packed so I guess no one else was canceling either.
The food was great. We had the fried feta, one of our favorites. The Greek salad and clam chowder were great too. For our main course we had lamb and steak. Both were cooked perfectly and were delicious. Sometimes lamb doesn't come out quite right, but Zorba's always gets it right. The creme brûlée cheesecake was the perfect end to our dinner. We would definitely recommend Zorba's.
The service is outstanding, the food excellent. We were going to bring a group here next week, but one of the party doesn't like Greek food. While they have other items, he seemed adamant. We will certainly continue to come and bring others too.

There is definitely something for everyone on the menu; Greek specialties like moussaka and spanakopita to prime rib and even pizza. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was hot, tasty, and a good value for the money. The only thing lacking was the ambiance. It is an older, well worn, no frills dining room. If you don't need a fancy setting and want good food and service at a good price Zorba's will fit the bill.
