Prompt service and follow-up with me about when the table would be ready. Attentive, friendly and expert server. Thank you.
Still the best. And, oh, that tart cherry marg.
Don't tell me how many characters I have to type.
Extremely poor service. Got forgotten as far as getting a table. Had to ask the hostess for table. No menus give it to us. Ordered entrée and then was served somebody else’s desert by the same waiter took the order.
I really want to like this place. The food is relatively good. It is way to crowded making it a gymnastic or yoga pose just to squeeze to your table. More importantly, it is way, way too loud. You can not talk to your table of 4 let alone a larger group. So why in the world would you come here? I left.
We all three enjoyed our meals of Crab benedict, chicken enchiladas, and huevos. Good service and nice sunny window with amazing views of Flatirons! We were able to make a reservation too, which was great as other places had a wait and we were trying to get to International Film Festival show. We'd all recommend this place as a nice convenient place to get some very good food!
It's been 20+ years since we last visited Zolo Grill. It hasn't missed a beat - still a great choice. Excellent food and impeccable service. We won't wait another 20 years to visit again.
We eat here often and it’s always great. Creative riffs on familiar southwestern dishes. Great drinks.
Been here many times. Everything was way too spicy this time. The same enchiladas ordered by different people at the table came out inconsistently; one being crispy and dry, while the other was overly drenched in sauce. My wife couldn’t get through a quarter of her meal and the server didn’t ask if anything was wrong. Unfortunately, it sounds like she can’t be convinced to come back again. Zolo, what happened? You used to be solid.
I haven't been to Zolo's in quite some time since i moved from Boulder, but i had a nice lunch with a friend.
The food has always been consistently good over the past decade or more... always a friendly staff and a good selection.
Seating is adequate for couples or groups - in a great location with plenty of parking.
Zolo is one of our go to places for special events. We noticed some changes to the menu, all good. The butternut squash soup is outstanding and the tamales are excellent, so are the enchiladas. The desserts are also exceptional. We love to share the banana cream pie. Because it's a popular spot, reservations are recommended.
Everything was just TOO SPICY! The food USED to be very good with a little spice, but it seems that everything we ordered was over the top (and I like spicy). Even the salad was drowned in dressing. The chef needs to reevaluate his menu.
The chicken enchiladas were super. The tart cherry marg is my new favorite drink. IMO, still the best northern New Mexico restaurant in Boulder. The food is just consistently outstanding.
We have been Friday night regulars for many years, and have a standing date with friends when one of us couples returns from traveling. Years ago Zolo's had a blue cornbread with spiced butter on the menu that we absolutely loved. It disappeared during one sad menu change and no subsequent chef would consider bringing it back -- until last Friday when the new chef came out with small cast iron pans of our beloved corn bread! All four of us were thrilled! and convinced us to leave the test pan with us. We demolished it immediately; it was every bit as good as we remember. We love the menu there and hope it becomes a menu staple. We also very much appreciate the community service and involvement of the Big Red F Restaurants, of which Zolo's is a part, from which our disabled daughter and her peers at Imagine! benefit. Thank you on so many wonderful things you do besides just cooking great food.
Excellent food! Empanadas were outstanding. Creative nenu.
They squeezed 5 adults into a boot that should accommodate 4. Very uncomfortable.
Very noisy too, difficult to talk. But mainly it was the boot thing that I found preposterous.
Yum. Brunch is great at Zolo. They have a bunch of brunch foods that would be tough to cook at home & the setting is just right. We’ll go again!
Zolo is the best restaurant in Boulder. Great food and fantastic margaritas!
Every time I visit the Zolo, I can count on quality food and drinks.
The new menu is enticing and I am glad some favorites like the chicken enchiladas are still on the menu. I ate with a friend who doesn't like spicy food and she had good options. The flavors are always well-curated and delicious. My salmon bowl was flavorful tho my salmon was a bit ungenerous.
Great spot with wonderful food. Parking is plentiful, unusual in Boulder.
We have been going here for a long time and always enjoyed it. We almost always start with a margarita, chips and guacamole. The guacamole is always good. You have begun a tableside preparation of it. We preferred having it made however you always made it before and brought out right away with the chips. You make it better than we could ask you to and we'd rather not have to wait 10-15 minutes for somebody to come and prepare it. It's reminiscent of the flaming days of Steak Diane and that era is long gone.
Not very good salsa with chips. The chicken soup wasn't good - pouring hot soup over cold ingredients = lukewarm soup and the ingredients were huge so it was hard to eat. Expensive, bland, blech.
Quiet on the enclosed patio - a little more lively in main dinning - when making reservation request main restaurant if want to be more social/bar atmosphere.
Wait staff was very attentive.
Zolo is always outstanding in every respect - food, hospitality, warmth. Love it.
Zolo is a gem that has kept its quality over the years. I like that the menu is constantly being refreshed. We tried the "Zolo Board" and enjoyed it as an appetizer for a party of four. Service is attentive. In a highly competitive Boulder restaurant scene, Zolo proves always predictable in a very positive sense. Easily one of Boulder's best.
We hadn’t been here for a while due to the high noise levels, but we were pleasantly surprised that it seemed quieter this visit. The food is unusual and delicious. Our server was outstanding: one of the best we have had in our years of friends getting together for lunch.
Food was unique, creative and tasted great! Will recommend.
Excellent, really enjoyed the food, from appetizer to desert. Server very knowledgeable regarding celiac. Nice to eat somewhere where I didn’t have to compromise what I wanted to eat.
zolo grill never disappoints. esp on mondays when the special is the bbq duck tacos. the best tacos all time. chips and guac are good starter. and a Q coin marg on the patio. boulder at its finest.
Zolo continues to impress with their wonderful food combinations and mix of diverse flavors. Very consistent and excellent service.
Very good food, very good service. It was fairly loud in the restaurant at lunch, but then it was very busy so to be expected I suppose. Will certainly return.
Zolo is no longer a go-to restaurant for us. The service is slow and the food is mediocre for the price you pay. Disappointed.
We have gone to this restaurant several times before and have never had a problem. This time our waiter approached us about 30 minutes after we had ordered and told us there was a problem with our order and it needed to be redone. He was extremely apologetic. After our food finally arrived, the manager came to our table to apologize and he comped our meal. This was an extremely gracious thing to have done. Obviously, it is better if there is no problem, but the way this was handled was worthy of a lot of respect. I certainly will continue to go to Zolo.
Zolo was my favorite Boulder restaurant and my first stop when I came to town. This time we were disappointed. The food was ok, not outstanding as in the past. Service was poor. Our appts and mains came out together. We waited a long time for the empties to be removed. And while we noted a special occasion in the reservation, there was no special attention given. I believe the waitperson was not informed. Overall, we did not love our experience this time.
Our food and service were excellent; the tamales were as good as they looked on the menu.
Had a “buy one entree/get one free” for brunch coupon. The issue we had was the 8 dollar appetizer was ridiculously small. Not at all worth the price and fairly uninspired as far as flavor went. The rest of the food was pretty tasty and the service was very good.
The restaurant was SWAMPED on a Tuesday and so service was not good at all. I had made a reservation and the staff was friendly but very unavailable to our table so that was disappointing. The food was delicious and it was a festive atmosphere so it was still ok.
Lunch before a close by football game was quite good - as always. Well trained staff.
We were a fussy group, and we stayed forever, and we got nothing but love from the staff. The food, as usual, was great! How this place has kept to this level of quality for so many years is beyond me. Love it here!
Zolo has been in Boulder for 22 years and there is a reason why, its awesome. Service was great and food is always on point.
