I sat outside on the patio, and the view is of the parking lot in the strip mall. I had a mozzarella and tomato salad and while it was fine, it was not superb.

Great Tequilla selection although we had to ask for a menu. One of the dishes of our party came out cold and the timing was off but other than that it was great. Will go back!

Definitely recommended. Great upscale southwest/mexican place. Great salsa sampler, fresh guacamole (preapared at your table), margaritas, chile releno, food in general. Attentive staff. Somewhat limited food choice.

We enjoyed both the Coin and House Margaritas - get the Coin Margarita if you like a strong one!
Loved my chicken enchiladas and my sweetheart really enjoyed his Chile Relleno.
The tableside guacamole was a standout - we'll order that every time.
Planning to go back for sure - it's close to the Century Theatre in Boulder so we'll have dinner there either before or after the show~

The restaurant has an upscaled take on Mexican food, not the typical Tex-Mex. It is a treat to experience the creativity.

Hi. As always, Zolo provides great service and delicious food. I only have a couple comments about improvement. First, you pay extra for chips. We ordered the table-side made guacamole and were charged for chips and salsa on top of that. Don't chips come with guac? Consider one charge for chips and guacamole. If the salsa costs extra, say so. Second, the music playing the other night was loud and, for me and my companion, awful. Eighties rock. How about some latin music?

Zolo has been a favorite for long time, especially with my boyfriend because of the banana pie. It has been so disappointing to see them change to the pre-made shell with the ingredients that just don't taste as delicious as before. We keep trying it, hoping that it improved to the quality we grew to love, but alas we know it is futile. We would have preferred paying a little more to cover what loss was from the homemade version vs. the new pie. Please consider going back.

What a fun restaurant! They make homemade guacamole right at your table! Food was delicious, servers were friendly but sometimes not very attentive. Mixed drink was fair. We will definitely go back again.

Wow. Zolo has upped its game in the last year, with a new chef and fabulous new menu -- while still keeping many favorites. I wish I had taken pictures, but my group devoured every course, with many oohs and ahs, before I could snap them.

We were there for my husband's birthday, a group of six-- two vegetarians, two celiac among us. We waited at the bar as our friends arrived, and were ably taken care of by the friendly bartender Siddalee, who listened to what we liked, offered suggestions and then crafted amazing cocktails. I loved my tart cherry Margarita, while my husband got some kind of custom rum concoction and friends loved the Mezcal firestarter.

Our server, Jen, was awesome, too -- we ordered a bunch of starters -- the mushroom empanadas were so amazing we ordered more! As well as tableside guacamole, and a frito pie. All delicious. For dinner, the two vegetarians ordered the chile relleños -- which are listed on the menu as having meat, but Jen said it was no problem to order it without meat. I'm craving them again already! And a shared plate of the best sweet potato tacos any of us have ever had; plus, chicken enchiladas, short ribs, and salads. The atmosphere was festive, all around, the service perfect and friendly, and we also had a great bottle of wine. Dessert was fantastic -- churros, as well as their sort of astonishing banana cream pie. It was a great evening, and we can't wait to go back.

I live Zolo’s and have eaten there numerous times for lunch and dinner. So we decided to try brunch and ordered the breakfast skillet. All 4 of us had the same thing. I thought the food tasted great, but the portion for this meal was tiny compared to other plates going past our table. The skillet couldn’t have been more than 8” square to hold 2 eggs, a few veggies and dab of sour cream and a small amount of home fries. For 12.95 it was pricey.

Quality of food was simply poor. Soft shell crab was over-fried into a semi-acrid mound devoid of much actual crabmeat, produce was limp and not fresh, fish poorly seasoned and overly salted, and $8 seems a bit much for three small sub-par chicken wings. Disappointing.

The hostess was a rock star, everything else went down hill, sangria needs work, service wasn't as professional as we expect for that establishment. Wasn't too crowded so that was a plus.

I have been to Zolo several times over the years and have always enjoyed it. So, I thought it would be a good place to take my parents when they came to visit. This time was very different. The evening started with my father ordering a martini - while it was being poured, the waiter noticed a "floater." He determined that it was "no big deal" and then proceeded to confer with the table next to us regarding the issue. Totally unacceptable. He should have apologized and gotten him a new drink. I ended up requesting that my father get a new drink. Then, two people in our dinner party ordered a Caesar salad - both said that the croutons were stale and the "gross lettuce" was soggy. Finally, we ordered a slice of banana cream pie to split for dessert. After over TWENTY minutes of waiting for the pie, we waived down the waiter to see what the issue was (we were losing patience at this point). We were then informed that they had run out of the banana cream pie and were going to make us a small one just for us. It was not banana cream pie. They did not charge us for the pie, but they should have comped us for the entire meal. I have been in the service industry for a long time, and it takes A LOT for me to write a bad review Our experience at Zolo was horrible. I would expect more from a Big Red Fish restaurant. I will not be taking anyone back there any time soon.

The food was excellent. Tables are a bit close to each other, so would request a booth next time. The service was streaky - very good at times, and then absent or aloof at others. We’ve dined at Zolos many times - and will be back. We really enjoy the unique food preparations.

Went in for a quick lunch with a friend and server did three things that turned out to be annoying: 1) served my drink without asking me if I wanted a straw. I get it that we don't want to pollute the oceans with plastic but this is Boulder and we know there are alternatives and I don't like acidity drinks on my mouth and ice hurts my teeth so give me the option of your paper straws in the future and don't force me to have to ask after waiting 10 minutes for the server to check in; 2) suggested a "special" tuna dish without mentioning it was two to three times the cost of the regular items on the lunch menu and to our surprise when the bill came we both had about $32 including one ice tea drink each. This was kind of over the top for lunch and the item was MASSIVE for lunch and it turned out to be A lot of food. Too much in my opinion. Maybe better for dinner;3) why seat us in a dark noisy booth and not offer the middle ground between outside and inside. I was not given the choice so it was a dark gloomy experience that I will avoid in the future by speaking up on choices for seating.

Good drinks, guacamole made at your table, all three of us liked our varied entrees. Only downside was our server went awol for about 20 minutes even though we asked her to come back in 5 minutes since another beer would be needed. Had to ask another server to get her to get our check. Also felt it was a bit ‘overpriced’.
