I always enjoy going to Zodiak; it's usually quiet so you can enjoy visiting with your friend. The complimentary popover with strawberry butter is delicious, and the consomme is nice too. This last visit I ordered the lemon shrimp salad; very tasty and the shrimp were perfectly prepared. My girlfriend ordered the crab cakes, and was surprised & impressed with the fresh crab meat and gave me a taste, very good. Because it was my friend's birthday, a beautiful slice of cake was presented to her. She loved it. Service is very good, and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I had to ask for a coffee refill. The coffee is very good by the way.
Consistently ...perfect for ladies who enjoy lunches & shopping!
A surprise was missing the cheese biscuits that were always served with the lunch intro broth. Missed it! Otherwise the same excellent quality we have enjoyed over the years.
We had a great server who offered for us to stay as long as we wished because the table wasn’t needed. Great for visit with old friends.
This place never ceases to please us all. This particular visit (because we meet more often there now) we included another friend, and she was amazed at what a hidden gem this restaurant is. The service by Ceasar was impeccable. He was constantly checking in with us, as was the host (a woman, her name escapes me). The food, including the wonderful popovers, was exceptional. Nice portions and flavor for each of our different choices. I look forward to our next meet up.
Our dining experience was Excellent as always! This was our 3rd visit and we will be back.
We have been going to NM every December 26th for at least 15 years for a nice lunch and then do some after Christmas shopping. It always feels special.
My second time there and I went to take my husband as he wasn't with me the first time. The food is delicious and the waitstaff wonderful. We had a therapy dog (7 pounds) and they treated us in a most respectful way.
Really, the food quality has gone downhill in the last couple of years. And it's wildly overpriced!
It's still "kind of" pretty, but needs sprucing up.
I gather for lunch occasionally with girlfriends because it "seems" special, but with those prices, and pretty mediocre food, and decor that's becoming a bit used-looking...will probably meet elsewhere until they get their act together at Zodiac.
Always a great place to have lunch. We were a group of 7 and they forgot the small cup of chicken consume' and I had to ask for it. Came during our meal. Forgot one person's water. Overall non attentive and not happy with the service. They had already added in a 20% tip which I wouldn't have given.
We went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday and it is always a special meal. We had the trout which was prepared perfectly. It is enough for two people. The mini cup of soup and the popovers with strawberry butter are fantastic. Lovely meal.
Delightful lunch with a friend. Our go to place for a group of five as well as the table for two occasionally. The entree of fish, mashed potatoes and green beans was delicious. Holiday cocktail to kick off the season.
Great healthy foods choices with good wine list. I’m not fan of tomato soup but their tomato soup was yummy.
Our special "go to" place for quiet and very sophisticated dining experience. Stellar food and service.
Fabulous! We'll be back! Good was fresh & cooked perfectly. Staff was amazing.
Henry continues to be a star Server for me. This is my 3rd time to Zodiac in 2 months, and will continue to be a Sunday lunch spot for special occasions and the like. The food is excellent and the service outstanding. The ambiance is great, and does not disappoint. Already have our next Sunday lunch planned, can't wait. Would be remiss in not mentioning the very tasty popovers. YUM.
Wonderful service. I was able to get the soup and sandwich and they tailored the sandwich for me. Loved the kids menu. My daughter is quite tired of sliders, chicken nuggets and spaghetti for kids so it was nice to have a menu that gave her healthy, tasty choices.
We love the food at the Zodiac restaurant and the service is always perfect - Even had a vegan option for my daughter
I dine at the Zodiac mainly for birthday lunches. The food is consistently good and the service is wonderful.
Had a quiet lunch enabling two busy women to have a conversation. The salmon tacos were perfect and our server was very polite and unintrusive!
I am becoming a regular. I only recently learned of this gem from a friend who invited me here a few weeks ago. I told another friend about it, and we met here for another Sunday lunch. When we arrived, there was just a few other people seated, and it remained this pleasant number by the time we left. The peaceful atmosphere coupled with attentive server and staff, makes this a new go-to favorite. We started with the complimentary small cup of soup, which was very tasty. We each had a popover, which was fresh out of the oven, and so good! I ended up ordering the same chicken milanese dish, because the first time was so memorable. The flavor and presentation was excellent. We were there to celebrate my birthday (earlier this month) and my friend celebrates hers in November, so we have reservations to return then. I plan to (of course) visit a few times in between. Such a hidden gem. You will not be disappointed.
I always enjoy Zodiac at Neimans. I usually go with my girlfriends. I take my mother-in-law there also because she can hear the conversation since it is on the quieter side--she has a hearing impairment.
The service is always excellent with very good food. And you can always shop a little on the way out OR in if you like.
Hi...my friend and I had a lovely time..our lunch was delicious....my only thought was the trout I ordered could have had fewer capers....looked like a rabbit ran across my plate😉. We will recommend and enjoy again....if I order trout I will ask for the capers to be on the side😊.
Five ladies on a monthly luncheon date! Always perfect place to visit and be able to hear. Great food and service with humor.
A nice place to take my elderly mom for Mother's Day. The food is a but overpriced for what you get but it's an enjoyable atmosphere for a nice lunch.
Came here for Mother's Day lunch and had a lovely relaxed lunch.
Good for Birthday
I dine here all the time as I shop a lot at Neiman Marcus.
Food is good, decent price, it does get expensive dining here with drinks. Ambience is always nice and quiet
More vegan options
Popovers are great! A little pricey and service slow otherwise very good. I like it that they will split entrees
I celebrated my birthday with my mother and daughters. Amazing service & food. What a beautiful lunch & afternoon. Sooo relaxing.🎉😊😊
My friends and I regularly meet at Zodiac for lunches, laughs and relaxation.
A friend invited me to lunch at Zodiac at Neiman-Marcus. I had no idea it was there and had been for 30 years.
Our wonderful server Tony had only been there two months so with the two of us it was like baptism by fire, lol. He did make my first experience memorable and we had a great time.
After crispy popovers and berry butter, we split a starter, the pan-fried lump crab cakes on arugula with daikon radish a delicious remoulade and lemon.
Then we both ordered salads, she the pine nut-crusted chicken salad with sautéed lightly breaded chicken breast, spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese, balsamic vinaigrette and a pine nut garnish. I had the crab louie salad with what looked like a ½ lb. of jumbo lump crab meat on a romaine wedge with heirloom tomatoes, egg, avocado, cucumber and louie dressing. The presentation was amazing and the taste simply delicious, wow, so much crabmeat.
Of course my friend asked to see the dessert menu and Tony brought it saying there were two items not on it. Since I got to pick I decided on the lemon cake, one of the non-menu items. Well when he brought it out, wow incredibly beautiful, layers of lemon cream and sponge cake with lemon cream icing and garnished with white chocolate and strawberries and cream. Mighty fine!
My reservation didn't show up at the restaurant
This was my first time at the Zodiac and I can't wait to go back! The food was DELICIOUS and the customer service was outstanding!
Have gone to Zodiac for over 20 years but not for a few years.
The food was so disappointing.
Still the wonderful popovers and broth before the meal
But our chicken salad that used to be fabulous was nothing more than chicken and mayonnaise
The bread was stale, the presentation like a coffee shop and the prices like a five star NY restaurant. The fruit was cut up in tiny pieces as if for a 3 yr old.
Over a 40 minute period, I asked our waiter 3 times for more water and he never brought it.
I finally got up and asked someone else.
The dessert for my friend's birthday was ONE NM cookie cut up in fourths and a squirt of
Ready Whip on either side! The cookie was not fresh.
So disappointed- used to be such a pleasure.
Quiche was cold last time I went so thought I'd give it another try. Still not good food for what you pay. Stick with Nordstrom Cafe which is still 5star overall compared to NM Zodiac.
Been going there for 30+years . Lately service has been very poor. Food is excellent as always.
I would guess it's a management issue because service had never been this bad
This is the only place I eat at Fashion Valley. My young adult son and I were Christmas shopping and had a lovely lunch. We both had the salmon. Service was great as always! Tables for two diners are a little close together but for a lunch while shopping, it's fine. May be awkward on a date.
Good lunch. It would have been nice to have choices of hot meals.
I had lunch with a special friend while visiting San Diego. I'd never been to a Zodiac (just a Mariposa, Neiman's other brand) and loved it. Half the menu was salades composees. Delicious.
Our server was charming and attentive. We loved the experience.
