Zodiac at Neiman Marcus - Northbrook Ratings and Reviews
My cousin was in from out of town and we had a ladies lunch. The food, service and ambiance were stellar as always. I started with the butternut squash soup, it came hot and the perfect consistency. I ordered my favorite for my main course, pecan tuna salad sandwich with a dude of fruit. I have an allergy to melons, so they accommodated me with berries only. Service was amazing,! Our server was very patient with us, and attentive as well; I always had a hot cup of coffee. 😊I would return here any time, and highly recommend The Zodiac Room!
Planned a holiday lunch with friends, 2 of which share a birthday in Dec. When asked by the server if we were celebrating anything we said yes- holidays and birthdays. We enjoyed a tasty lunch and ordered a piece of cake to share . The server also brought a cupcake with a lit candle. When the bill came there was an $8 charge for the cupcake-unbelievable! Small vanilla cake with white frosting and s candle-would have been $4 at our favorite gourmet cupcake spot. Eon’t Be returning.
Celebrating my friend’s birthday, there were some dietary restrictions and the menu accommodated those needs. Started off a little slowly, as the restaurant was quite busy, so even with a reservation we were seated about 20 minutes past our time. Got our soup/popover after a little while and then our waitperson came by to start our meal, “officially.”
From there, we did fairly well as far as service and getting our meals in a timely fashion. We did have to ask for refills on our iced tea and then, it got much smoother as the meal continued. The restaurant provided a cute little cupcake with a candle to help us mark the occasion.
The birthday celebrant was happy with her birthday lunch!
5 people were squeezed into a table for 4. The noise level was awful making it impossible to have a conversation The wait staff was non attentive and bordering on rude.
We usually always enjoy our lunches at the Zodiac. Everyone agreed that we would not come back
My "Love Salad" was a disappointment, as was my friend's. Too many salad greens, little chicken, Hearts of palm and artichokes were in abundance with little flavor, grapes were seedy and tomatoes soggy, tasteless. 'The popovers are the big draw as is the service and the ambiance. This salad needs to be eliminated or revamped.
A nice venue for lunch, both business and social. Food was good, but a bit average for the prices. Also, felt that $16 was a bit high for glass of House wine. Service was good. Light, airy atmosphere. The noise level was low, allowing for great conversation! Would go again and try another luncheon selection next time.
Took my friend for her b-day. Always enjoy the food and ambience. Not too loud. Waitress, think her name was Jacques. Very nice and attentive , and of course food good. Love the little cup of chicken soup to start you off. Gave us a little bday dessert with candle. Very nice time!!
Our server put a damper on our celebratory lunch. She was not friendly, didn't smile, didn't connect with us at all on a personal level, and wasn't very attentive. (She forgot our coffees - we had to ask another server.) The food was just mediocre at best. The mandarin orange "souffle" was basically jello mold and the blueberry muffin that accompanied the dish was so overly sweet that it was barely edible. One of the salads was too lightly dressed (it was hard to get our server's attention to bring more dressing) and the other was nothing special. We won't go back.
Disappointing. The ambiance and service were outstanding but the food totally missed the mark. None of us really likes our main course. The fish was down right fishy and mine was overcooked and frankly nearly inedible.
Given the price, nearly $100 for 3 people, we will not be back.
The Zodiac Room is a favorite of mine to celebrate friends' birthdays and other special occasions.
It has a classy ambience and one really feels like a lady when dining there. The service is outstanding, and the food is delicious, a bit on the more expensive side, but definitely worth it.
The room transports you into another place - you would never know you were in a high end department store - it is just lovely. There is not one time that I can remember that the meal or the
service was disappointing which is why we return there numerous times. You come away from there as if you were dining on vacation. It is definitely an experience worth repeating.
All was fine except it would have been nice to not have to ask for water fill up and it would have been nice if the chicken broth cup & saucer had been removed when empty and not left til end of meal when we were leaving. Would have been nice to have been offered a second pop over. I could not give a 5 star rating because the little things just were not attended to without being asked. Bus help need more training.
The atmosphere was bright and fun! Loved seeing the girl going around showing off the coming fall trends! I had the turkey havarti sandwich which was delicious and my water glass was never left empty; staff was very attentive and greeted our table with a smile! Our birthday lunch celebration was very enjoyable!
atmosphere ladies lunching and loud high pitched voices. they want you to order right away but are attentive. salads delicious but some flavorless like love salad. dressings can be bland.
not cheap but convenient for shopping. popovers not browned and looked undercooked.
very generous with them passing a few times. not first choice but will go back at some point.
