Zocca Ratings and Reviews
The Italian food--caprese salad, meatball fritters, and tagiatelle with bolognese sauce, followed by an interesting and pretty much indescribable dessert--was delicious. It was a quiet Sunday evening, so the room was quiet, and that was nice. But the best part was our server, who was friendly, very knowledgeable about the food and wine, and a real addition to the evening.
Amazing service by the waiter i wish i could remember his name to give him the credit! Dinner was great and turned out to be a great anniversary dinner for me and my husband thanks to the help of our waiter since it was our first time there. Overall great experience!
Took my girlfriend here and absolutely loved it! I have crohn's disease and cant tolerate any bit of gluten. I'm usually in pain within hours if I have anything with wheat, but they made accommodations for me. We both ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta and didn't have mistakes on the order. They use a different shape and type of noodle for those that cant process wheat.
Overall, the atmosphere was a little more upscale than average places, the food was delicious and came in large portions, and the waiter/hostess were very polite. It was a little noisy, but nothing that wasn't tolerable after the crowd left. Definitely a nice place to go to if you have gluten intolerance and want a safe place to go out to eat!
Not a best experience. Food was too salty. Ordered rack of lamb and asked for the medium rare they made it medium well.. my wife's red snapper was overcooked. Extremely dry ..
Waiter was very helpful . Overall not a best experience..
Food was just marginal for the price - we started with a caesar salad and caprese salad. Caesar dressing was bland and lack flavor. Pasta was ok but nothing to bring me back here - could have stayed in our room and had a burger from room service and had a better meal. Service was good, when you saw the waiter - it wasnt that busy. As soon as we ordered, our waiter said he had to leave due to a family emergency and we had a replacement, saw him even less than original waiter. They really need to up their game if they want my dinner dining dollar again.
Took my dad for Father's Day. It was fabulous. We each had a pasta dish for lunch. His pappardelle with fresh lump crab meat was heaven. It had a hint of citrus and the asparagus shavings really worked with the flavors. My spaghetti with a jumbo meatball was wonderful. The meatball was juicy and flavorful and was not tough or dense. The sauce came with a small scoop of lemon herb ricotta which really balanced out the flavors of the sauce and the meatball. For dessert we had the pistachio and orange cream cannolis. They came on a tile with chocolate writing wishing my dad a happy Father's Day. The detail to which this restaurant goes to please its customers is just so nice. I would recommend to anyone to come and try their authentic Italian cuisine.
Nice meal; view of Riverwalk but with some separation from all the traffic; very sweet to my kiddo as it was her birthday... good options for kids meals. Most of us really enjoyed our meals. Would be nice to have a happy hour drink special, or some less expensive beverage options... but all in all, nice experience.
After the great reviews I was looking forward to eating here. It was disappointing. It was loud, even though we asked for a quiet place, the food was average but with above average costs. The gluten free options are not what I expected. They did take great care to ensure I didn't eat anything that I was sensitive to( dairy, gluten)
We visited for our anniversary dinner. Our waiter (wish I remembered his name to give him the credit) was wonderful in every way you want a waiter to be. We split the ceaser salad, the calamari and the fettuccine; all were great. Would definitely recommend, and return when in San Antonio again.
The chef was very accommodating & prepared 2 vegan dishes....however it took way too long ...& the restaurant got extremely noicy ...we should have dined outside seating...we would have been able to enjoy our conversation while we waited for our food. We appreciate her efforts & the dishes were good, but the wait & noice level spoiled our appreciate of the restaurant.
We came on Mother's Day. We made reservations as well as looking at the menu online. When we arrived, it was a brunch, with no options. It was $45 and the lunch items on the menu were around $12. It was too late to switch restaurants. My children were taking me there for Mother's Day and it was so disappointing for them because I had to help pay for it. The food was ok, but not $45 worth.
We requested a table outside when we reserved but they had no record of it and there was nothing available. When we were finally seated after complaining, our server was terrible. She behaved like this was a military operation and we should just get on with it. My husband's food was cold. The food overall was very ordinary. The inside of the restaurant looks like a low-class cafeteria. We were guests of the hotel and they were very slow with breakfast. It took over 20 minutes for breakfast to appear. I would not go back.
This restaurant has a great location on the Riverwalk. They are on the less crowded side so you can enjoy a nice meal without constant traffic by your table. Unfortunately, the night we were there the service was not up to par. We were there on a Sunday night and the restaurant was not packed but there was too much time between courses and getting another glass of wine. The waiter did not check back often.
Great late night dinner with good wine, appetizer, and entree choices. The calamari was yummy, especially with the green sauce for dipping. And I personally loved the salmon plate. I highly recommend it! Kudos to the chef on the sauce! Nice setting on the Riverwalk, though we remained inside on a cooler evening. We had a 9pm reservation, so not too many people dining at that time. Most activity was at the bar.
Waiter was very attentive and provided good service, and could've received a higher rating. However, he felt the need to tell us he was leaving since he had to be back to work the next morning at 10, which came across as "poor me." We were finished, so he should've just closed us out without all the detail.
Overall pleasant dining experience.
