Went for a bachelor party dinner. Great items to share, great atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Food was good, nachos taste awesome and with a refreshing change. I was not crazy about the chorizo/cheese dip but my friends were. Micheladas were with a tad of sweetness which is not for a real michelada but they were pretty tasty. The bad thing here was the terrible service, such a shame! We wait for everything, ask to have silverware, plates, and they have a not pleasant attitude, our server look like a manager bc after we complain she went her way to be good for us but it was not sufficient. Its Not a place I will recommend or go back.
I was in the mood for Mexican and we decided to give this a try while in town for the Rock And Roll Induction Ceremony. I wanted tacos and liked that you can purchase them separately, so I tried the shrimp taco and on recommendation of waitress I tried the carnitas. The shrimp taco was good, but the carnitas was outstanding! The flavor was a tiny bit sweet with some crispy pieces of pork in with the shredded pork. I loved that!!! I totally want to go back when we are in town again! I did not think their salsa served with their chips was the best I’ve had, but ok. Try the tacos for sure!
Great place for a work lunch or after work happy hour. The food is tasty and came out fast. Our waiter was super nice! The place is really unique too.
Great food!!! Service a little slow...but it was fine!!! Fun atmosphere!!
We had a great experience at Zocalo for the most part. The food and the service were awesome. We will definitely return this summer!! I wasn't crazy about our table by the restroom or the loud table behind us but everything else was great!! Check it out!!
Wonderful service, our server “D” was awesome! Very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. She also had great suggestions where to go after dinner. The food and drinks were good. Tacos were small for the price.
The fried pickles were so delicious. I had an order of the pickles along with one taco and I was stuffed!
Amazing food and margaritas! I had the blood orange margarita and it was wonderful. My friend and I met on a Friday night to eat before a show at the Playhouse. The table next to us was racous and WAY TOO LOUD! Other than that, we enjoyed it very much. Great service and food.
Zocalo was great with customer service right from the start of my inquiry/booking with Liz. They accommodated our large group during a busy event time and They did a great job to accommodate our wheelchair user as well. The delicious food had good good reviews (mushroom taco, enchiladas, and fajitas... just to name a few).
Great experience, my first time there. It was a bit loud, but it was a Taqueria on E 4th on a Sat night right before a Cavs game, so it did not negatively affect my review.
I will also say I asked for a more secluded area in my reservation, and they were able to accommodate.
Low quality food. Nothing special.
Came on a double date for Valentine's Day. We had a blast!! Our server was awesome. Very knowledgeable on the different Tequilas. The food was the best Mexican food we've ever had. Can't wait to go again.
The burrito bowl was delicious! I will definitely return when I am in the area again.
Service and food were average. Restaurant was a little dirty. Overall ambience is great.
Great place. With reservations, we were seated immediately. The music level was perfect, food was great. Margaritas were tasty!
A little disappointed that Zocalo scaled back its menu to just a few simpler choices such as tacos, quesadillas, and only a few entrees. Several years back the restaurant offered more elaborate and interesting entrees with a more colorful presentation. Having said that, our food was excellent--tacos and a burrito bowl with tons of grilled shrimp. My friend loved the sweetness of her Mohito. My grande margarita was definitely grande but was bland and skimpy on the alcohol. Service was excellent. We were initially seated at a tight booth with a table height that was much too high for the benches. The other booth was the same and had torn seats and a TV that was hung too low over the booth. Our server encouraged us to move to a table, which was a better height but noisy as it was right in front of the kitchen and in the direct line where servers left the kitchen with their trays. A reconfiguration and update to this area of the restaurant is definitely needed.
Birthday celebration for my friend. They didn't address that but it was okay we were on the way to the Cavs game. Cavs vs Magics.
Everything was great , food , service, drinks , the food has sooooo much flavor!!
Disappointing. Been wanting to try this place because its always booked up on the weekends for a month straight. Service sucked. Food and margaritas were mediocre and ambiance was lacking for a prime location in E 4th. Needs an entire overhaul.
Some of the best quesadillas I’ve ever had, and I love the feel of the restaurant!
The service was great didn’t get to eat due to a power outage effecting multiple restaurants
A little pricey for what you get. A $5 taco wasn’t pretty small and nothing really came with it. The kids meal $4.99 taco was a better deal because at least you got rice and beans with it (but obviously only 10 and under can order that). The rest of the food wasn’t anything special. Went a few years ago and I feel like it has changed since. I don’t think I would go back, but it’s morn a horrible restaurant. Just better ones out there these days.
3rd time in to enjoy the tacos and the tequila! Sean M. is an amazing server, made my husband’s birthday even more fun :-)
Server was excellent. But the carnitas were so overcooked that they looked like charcoal and tasted like charcoal. Instead of risking my food being tampered with I ate the pickled veggies and grilled pineapple. Don't recommend it to anyone. The restaurant wasn't busy. No reason to be sending food out like that.
The food was very good. The drinks were generous. But the staff was outstanding. Had a great time.
The food was fresh, modern, and had well blended complimentary flavors. The prices were more than reasonable. Our 'go to' type of restaurant is always Mexican and we have eaten at hundreds of Mexican restaurants around the country, this one definitely tops the list. Beautuful ambience with awesome service. If you are in Cleveland you have to make time for their eats.
great restaurant highly recommended. good food and service
Taco Tuesday is great!!
Server seemed like we were inconveniencing her. Did not seem interested in being there at all.
Food mediocre at best
Part of our order did not come out and server never bothered to come back to check on us.
We had excellent food and service. Definitely recommemded
Zocalo was fantastic, the tacos were amazing and our waiter was outstanding however, the girl at the front was not friendly and did not take care of our reservation properly so we did not collect our points.
As a matter of fact when we checked in we told her that we had a reservation through Open Table and she told us they didn't accept reservations that day.
Outside of her obviously over whelment with the hostess position I would got back in a heartbeat!
Really great place on East 4th. The food was great, margs were tasty, and has a unique layout with a patio too.
Food was fantastic as always!! The booth we were in was worn down....it's time to redo the cushions! Felt like we were sitting in a hole. Other than that it was pleasant dinner!
Food and service was great! This was our first time at Zocalo and would highly recommend to everyone.
We went for a work lunch and had 1 hour. The service was horrible - we were told (after asking twice) that they were out of chips. We got chips and they were stale. Our food took over a half hour and the restaurant was less than a quarter full (the patio was half full). I never had a bad experience there until the other day. As a former GM of a restaurant, I was very disappointed with the service and food. The waitress told us that the kitchen was really backed up (after we asked about our food after 25 minutes) and then she avoided our table (no refills with water etc) until the food came. Then, when the food did come, the waitress didn't even know which tacos were which. We didn't ask to see a manager but it would have been nice to have someone stop by and at least comp our drinks or something. I understand that things run over and that things can be unpredictable in the restaurant world. But being on an hour lunch (that we told her we had one hour) and then being 45 minutes late back to work is totally unacceptable. Won't be going back.
Great fun place on E 4th to go before an event in Cleveland.
Table was waiting for us in timely manner. Food was good: wished there was a little more in the bowl burrito than there was.
Had a great visit and the food and service was incredible!! The only complaint would be the flies that were bothering us the entire meal. This is because the whole front of the building is open to the street...maybe a screen over that area would help. Other than that a great experience!! A-
