Zizzi - St. Albans

Whilst food was good, the service really our experience down. We turned up and they didn’t have our booking and the server blamed it on cy technology. It took a long time to order and we weren’t offered another drink or pudding. Instead, we were told to settle the bill as they were closing. My friend had a voucher and had checked the Ts&Cs but this obviously wasn’t good enough and they processed to squat down at our table and scroll through the terms for themselves. My friend was insulted. Shame about the experience, wouldn’t recommend.

Bit noisy and slow service . Also even though I said we were using Meerkat Meals when we booked AND when we arrived, they tried to charge full price.
Usual good food mostly made up for it.

We had an enjoyable meal. Shared starters of wild boar and garlic bread which were superb. Only downside was that it was a bit noisy but it was a Saturday night.

Firstly they didn't have my booking. After ordering the starter came quickly and was good, however, the main course took over half an hour the table wasn't cleared of the starter until the main came. The main came and the pizza was burnt and we did not have any cutlery to eat it with as the waiter did not replace the ones he took away we couldn't find a waiter to complain about the pizza. Overall the experience of this restaurant was not good.

Been to Zizzi's many times before and you always know what you will get.
Good friendly service, nice food and good if you are with a young family.
They were very busy when we went as it was close to Christmas but the service was still quick and food came promptly. Children's menu is a good size.

Food was OK, service friendly but a bit slow and they wouldn't accept tesco vouchers that we had brought, apparently valid until yesterday and again in 2019, was not clear when booked so disappointed to be paying cash

Great food and ambiance unfortunately let down by really poor customer service.... has to keep going up to am to order, collect plates ask for cutlery etc.... such a shame

The restaurant has been redecorate since I last visited and it looks really great. I have always felt that the service has been good but I noticed the staff were particularly attentive this time. All the courses appeared freshly prepared and well presented. My salad with chicken tasted as if it had just been assembled to order rather than prepared in advance and left in the refrigerator to chill. Good casual dining experience.

A Mother's Day booking gone very wrong. We were attended to very slowly, the drinks were wrong, the fish was raw, drinks weren't replenished. Complaints were handled as though we were wrong. I never review restaurants good or bad, but this was beyond the pale. We used to go here fairly regularly - once every 2 months. But it's very different now - upon enquiry, new manager apparently. We got a healthy chunk taken off the bill without asking, so at least it was acknowledged.

Been here loads of times. Unfortunately, this was the last sitting before a two week refurb. This meant the kitchen was partially closed down, and hence nothing on the menu that needed frying was available.

This wiped out about 1/4 of the menu, and most of what we'd planned to eat! Not sure this is OpenTable's fault but it would have been good to have some kind of notice of this BEFORE we'd booked.

It started badly with being ignored as it was very busy and no one took our order. However once the food arrived it was all good. the food was delicious and the children's portions were a perfect size.

The restaurant main seating area was very busy as it was school holidays but sitting outside was available which was a bonus! Food was tasty and served quickly. It was a pleasant experience.

Food was very nice and excellent value. Vibrant atmosphere and the staff were very accommodating of our 4 young children in the party.

Very pleasant restaurant, same format as with all Zizzi's. The restaurant was very busy but the service was quick, and the server very attentive to make sure that everything was OK.

The only point that lets this location down is the poor decor, with paint peeling off the walls, and other stains on the walls. Not very conducive to the overall experience.

We went here for lunch before the panto, the waiting staff were great and served us quickly and dealt with the children's food first, which always helps with hungry little people. Food was lovely too. It was packed but still ran well. Very nice meal.

Unfortunately there was a large party going on when we arrived, they couldn't find our booking and then left us at the table for ages. I had to go and request some service and a child's menu. My skinny pizza was awful, the "slaw" was just some limp rocket. The pizza was basically a base with 5 prawns on it, no sauce or flavour, just all dry and horrible. The starter with carrot sticks was so dry it was inedible. The service did get better once we had complained, although our water glasses were not refiled. I am sure my coffee was not decaffinated as I had requested as it kept me awake. I will not be going back and our party of 7 will not either.

Awful whilst we waiting for them to arrange a table and it was subtly suggested more than once we should go as they couldn't fit us! I should them my booking on OpenTable app and they blamed you guys despite the booking over a week old there was only one toilet to service the whole restaurant the proper toilets weren't working

I brought my grandchildren to the restaurant after watching the Pantomime and it added to a really lovely occasion. Considering the time of year the service was excellent and attentive. Our waiter went out of his way to attend to the children which I really appreciated.

Booked for my partners birthday for a large group of friends and family had to alter the seating twice but they were very helpful with this.
On the night the service was excellent and the food very good. We all enjoyed it and at the end they brought in the birthday candle so we could all sing happy birthday!!

Family meal staff friendly food very average to be honest

Extremely busy , service was very good , food was ok but nothing exceptional . Seated near the till and service area which I wasn't keen on and should have moved which was my mistake !
Not sure that I would rush back but it is a very popular restaurant so best to pre book .

Very reasonable food. Service was a bit variable, as our waiter was trying to deal with customers coming in, as well as dealing with diners needs. Seperate roles would be better as I have seen in other chains.

This restaurant delivers time after time. It is one of the, if not the best ,chains specialising in Mediterranean food

Went here as a group for a Christmas get together. Got to our table promptly and drinks orders were taken as soon as we sat down. The waiter was friendly and nice to the 4 children we had with us. Found was standard although I was disappointed they didn't have the specials starter.
